I played my first game of Rivals yesterday (I still play OW and plan to do so) but I immediately went 25-3 in my first game and won every game I’ve played so far; mind you, learning my cooldowns while playing my first game. It’s a much easier barrier to entry and probably feels more rewarding for someone who’s just trying to play a game without being punished for lack of knowledge. I sure can say that I did not fare the same in my first game of OW 😅

Ok so to try to not be everyone else and just call the video bad ima give some points I disagree with. I think calling Winter Soldier Cassidy is unfair, the only thing thats common about them is that they both have pistols. Jeff is far from being mvp, the ult is only good if you're on a map with a cilf and hero's with high moblity are harder to heal. Calling Jeff Venture just because he shoots projectiles and goes into the ground isn't fair, the concept of going into the ground isn't something new, chomper from garden warfare being an example. Fomo isn't gonna be a issue considering battlepasses are gonna stick around when the season ends. The only kind of Fomo im pretty sure they are gonna do are rank rewards and seasonal skins (which makes sense.) There is voice chat btw. There is no expectation to spend money on the game, if you want skins the games been pretty generous with giving them out for free considering within the past month we have had 4 free skins come out (Aka Jeff, Spiderman, Ironman, and Moonknight)

I was gonna give this video a chance to see flaws but holy crap it's just an overwatch stan complaining that their game got nuked by a better game. So many points were made that were just blatantly false and all you had to do was a little research to not look completely stupid. First of all, the game is brand new. Of course players are trying to "figure it out". Also your personal dislike for the visuals is a preference, not a point that is relevant to this video at all, especially when your opinion is in the minority. But two big points you made they were just lies and god awful. The game has both text and voice chat. You're either to stupid to figure out how they work or didn't try hard enough because you just want to hate on the game. Either way, it's embarrassing. Secondly, bashing the game for being free to play and giving players FOMO when non of the cosmetics in the game are even FOMO bait. Again, a little research would have gone a long way. Once you buy a battle pass, you keep it forever. They will not take it away from you when the season ends. This is the greatest battle pass system possible, and selling cosmetics is not a bad thing especially when the game is free. Get off your overwatch high horse and just don't play marvels if you don't like it. But also don't make terrible half baked videos trashing the games with lies and objective opinions. This is the most rent due video. Multiple points in the video either end in or boil down to “everyone is still figuring out the game” which is implied to somehow be a mark against the game. Multiple aspects of characters from overwatch were taken from other games. A lot of overwatch’s ideas were directly taken from TF2. Iron Man is the pharah counterpart in the game and they function so differently it feels reductive to compare them. Free to play isn’t always a negative. The monetization isn’t predicated on fomo. The battle pass can be completed after the season is over and the shop skins (to my knowledge) don’t cycle in and out. This is either dishonest or extremely misinformed.

I have 4,000+ hours played in Overwatch. I’ve seen the issues FTP brings to the table and believe it’s a net negative. Sure I mentioned this in a quick sentence rather than a 45 minute padded diatribe like some channel would, but I believe when the dust settles gamers will look back on FTP as one of the causes of a collapse in gaming. I really can’t think of all that positive with Marvel Rivals. Character wise there’s a strong selection in the initial roster. I did however fail to mention that the established backstories of Marvel properties make them a better fit for a story-free PVP only game seeing that their stories are pre-existing. Overwatch on the other hand has you looking for lore outside the game after the fact. Thanks for commenting.

In doing so the play base becomes populated by trolls who are indifferent to playing the games correctly. Cheating grows rampant. Players are most hostile. The more dedicated players grow to bemoan new paywalled skins as if the game is teasing them rather than offering performance based unlockables. But what do publishers care when they can point to numbers saying the player base is meeting goals.

FTP is indeed a trade-off. I would much rather pay $20 for something like this than deal with ftp issues. All the skins are so expensive. I feel like people who want them but don't want to pay for them look for the alternative, which is doing the missions and unlocking currencies slowly. Due to the randomized nature of the missions, you can get a lot of missions towards characters. You either don't have the skill set to play or do not want to play. So you , as a player, are forced to make a decision between, do I play this game the way it's asking me to for currency? Or do I buy the skin I want? Or do I just ignore the whole system? This puts a lot of players off and can feel like it's forcing them to play poorly but still make progress.

Gotta agree TBH. With over 100 hours on this game I gotta say it’s ONLY fun if (A) you have a decent team or (B) you play with friends (bonus if they’re also decent at the game). There is NOTHING more annoying than landing on an atrocious team with the enemies comprising of gods as alllll you can do is repeatedly die as soon as you leave spawn again and again and again and again, and nope don’t try leaving the game ‘cuz for some ungodly reason you can be suspended from playing for x amount of minutes or hours if you leave games. I’m sorry I don’t wanna die every millisecond I leave the base and want to actually play the game and have fun. It’s basically the exact same issue with every other multiplayer game; it’s fun if your team is decent and you’re playing with friends. Of which it’s extremely surprising how goddamn annoying it is to find a half-decent team.

Healing is ridiculous in this game. I like the game But that one thing is killing this game for me. It isn’t getting better issue either, It’s a matter of healing is destroying the playability of this game and the fun of this game. Everything takes time to charge in this game yet healing takes no time to charge and you can just do it nonstop… It turns this game into a massive sponge fest, and when you have characters that look bad ass and sound like they can run through a wall like Captain America yet when they hit you, it feels like you’re hitting them with a Nerf bat. Especially when you’re spamming the button when someone isn’t even looking at you and their health bar is either not moving or it’s at zero essentially and they just will not die. The times I’m having fun in this game as when you’re actually having a one on one or a one V2 or one V3 and manage To either out play or use your abilities at better times than your opponent. We already have heals Placed around the map. We don’t need characters that can heal the entire team simultaneously nonstop with no cooldown Meanwhile, every single move in the game has a cool down. If you’re going To have healing in the game for characters themselves, they Should tone it down a bit to where you actually have to like choose specific people to heal or Give it a cool down equivalent to how long it takes for people’s moves to cool down. I just think it completely takes away from the game when you’re sitting there hitting something it just makes you feel like what you’re doing. Holds no weight to it and is Pointless. Things like in battlefield right where Sound plays a big role in the satisfaction of a kill along with how the guns feel when you’re getting the kill. How long it took the sound it makes when you actually get the kill. Turns people off from games if done wrong that little feature. So when an entire game like this revolves around their moves and how much impact they have You can’t have characters like wolverine or Captain America or Thor hitting you with a freaking hammer and nothing happening. There’s no knockback there’s nothing really transferring over to the player which is just compounded by when someone is healing the opponent it honestly makes me want to stop playing. I think the game is addicting, It’s a fun game, but Healing like this makes everything feel pointless. Not to mention, why do we have characters like wolverine who are literally immortal in a lot of ways have healing Regenerative abilities, whose soul role is to rush in and close the gap with 300 HP? Meanwhile, Captain America has 650 with no immortality or healing regenerative capabilities. Honestly wolverine should have HP higher than cap if you think about it. And cap being a super soldier, why does his moves do such little damage? Spider-Man could definitely use a buff, doctor strange could use a buff, wolverine, cap… Like come on yo squirrel girl does so much more damage than fucking Spider-Man lol And Spider-Man is being outplayed in a small room by a man with a bow. Hawkeye is dope, but in that situation, Spider-Man would absolutely maul Hawkeye but nah you always have to dip. Again, I like the game, but there’s definitely things that should touched on

This is the most overrated game I have ever played. The amount of praise it's getting is just insane to me, people just like it because it's popular to hate on blizzard right now and the game doesn't have any LGTBQ stuff in it that everyone is tired of. But the game itself is just your generic hero shooter like any other hero shooter with nothing else really going for it. Every character feels like it was completely ripped off an overwatch character which showcases zero creativity of their own, everything feels clunky and the visuals look like ass and it runs like ass which makes no sense considering the graphics are cartoony with low textures and small maps... Combat feels way better to me in Overwatch, and the game itself is just way more polished IMO Rivals is a mediocre game that people will be bored of in the next 6 months. Can't wait to see all the hype fanboys hate on this comment, I look forward to it.

The aiming sucks and is flawed, which is why so many heroes have auto-hit or aim assist. The fact it has no role queue and built-in aim assist means it will NEVER reach any real competitive scene, and people will eventually grow tired of it.

When it comes to firing, I feel like most are generous projectiles and not a high skill hitscan. I find it hilarious when people complain about small things like visuals, skins, and battle pass ... its free to play if you chose to buy skins or the battle pass that's on you they have no impact on the game or the gameplay. Visuals wise what dopamine hit are you looking for when looking at character design "I haven't seen any characters or effects i like looking at" ummmmmm alright... Real score 8.5/10. Unlike overwatch you don't die instantly, heals can actually heal while people are fighting, and its fun chaos not stressful chaos.

They copied everything from Overwatch, the good and the bad, they should've gotten rid of the healers, making the dps and tanks survive by themselves with auto heals, lifesteal or more healing points on the maps. Now the game has the exact same problem with Overwatch, everyone wants to play DPS, 90% are garbage at it, no one wants to play healers but without healers dps die in 3s and tanks can't survive long either.

They actually did healers way better than OW did. Because every healer is either Burst Healing or Passive Healing over time, it lets supports actually get to help in the fights but doing a lot more damage than anyone would expect. I think this issue is relevant with tanks though. I know like 20 people who all play this game and none of them like playing tank.

jeff is one of the worst healers, there is voice chat and text chat at any moment, there is VERY little fomo especially in comparison to literally any other competitive game and either way i have already gotten over 2000 credits (enough for a bundle and nameplate) for completely free. u can only save ultimates to the next round in capture. although battle pass progression is weird, the challenges stay there for the whole season, so you could not do anything then finish the whole battle pass in a day on the last day of the szn

Have you ever tried to go through... the flank? If you're face tanking them you're gonna die dude, leave this for the tanks and find alternative routes to wreck'em all, that's what I do as melee main player and it's very effective since shooters usually don't have any close defensive skill. Another example is having a good tank in the front line, I happened to find an enemy team where everyone was using ranged characters, we simply destroyed them because I was tanking everything with Strange and a healer was curing me all the time. Easy win.

I think this game suffers from the same issues that any role shooter would suffer from. Nobody wants to play roles and if they do they don't play them correctly. my opinion as a support player as much as I think their tanks and supports are a breath of fresh air compared to other games. They're still not as attractive as their attack counterparts. So I don't even get mad when I see people's selections😂🤦

I just played my first few games and tried most characters and i realized everyone is running spammy long rang characters with an iron man constantly flyover beaming everyone, the game has too many power inbalances and all the supposed tank hero’s are weak af. The game is already uninstalled

This game needs a role queue. More strategists and vanguards. More maps. Better match making. Nerf healers. Needs Health regeneration as well. I have no idea why this is not in the game. When nearly 75% of duels gets its value flanking and apply back line pressure. Potential is there but Definitely needs a role queue. People want to hop on and play a certain role/character without having to switch or be a a disadvantage because of no role queue.

Well you dont have to check on the battlepasses and worry about not finishing them because as long as you vought you can progress through it after season 0 is over, also there isnt many characters similar to overwatch characters. And in reality theres not many similarities that really tie this to overwatch such as the gamesmodes are if anything copys of tf2s gamemodes but even then tf2s game modes are really just broad ideas that anyone could of come up with easily

Here is the thing, one you can mention that you don't personally like the visual style that's fine, however you give no actual criticism of it and reason as to why it is bad. You also mentioned the free to play model. This coming from someone who despises the free to play model, the execution of it here isn't actually all that's bad. Sure the game would be better without the skins and such but it isn't ever in your face either. Also you mentioned the battle pass system well marvel rivals remedies this by making it so you can continue to grind each respective battle pass. In all fairness to you it's clear that marvel rivals took heavy inspiration from overwatch and there are similarities between several hero play styles, however this isn't a bad thing. overwatch has long since fallen out of popularity in recent years and marvel rivals simply brought back what overwatch fans miss, like six vs six. On top of this the fact that some of the heros are similar provides a jumping in point for people who have played overwatch, based on what they liked to play they can start off with a character they will probably like based on their play style. On top of this there are plenty of unique heros in marvel rivals, such as iron fist and spiderman, and the heros which are similar to heros from overwatch have a unique spin, like doctors stranges portals.

I personally love this game and the way how heroes are being played it is just so much fun, even when I lose I get why I lose some matches, and I see it way greater than Overwatch. I think you're used to Overwatch's balancing while Rivals seems to not have any which is the route they are going for and tbh I've seen a lot of Overwatch pros liking this since they are used to Blizzard introducing so many busted characters and then nerfing them as time goes on only to do the same thing. Marvel Rivals on the other hand has made so many heroes broken to the point of everyone mentioning countless characters in the game and how broken they are which is what I think they are going for and as far as I can see, everyone is enjoying and you aren't.

I think it's terrible that people keep saying a game is a clone of another game just because they share a genre, not all games with a similar premise are clones First off squirrel girl yes plays like kunk rat, but the bombs are much smaller, and bounce less and tou actually have to aim her root (it's actually really hard to hit sometimes) Hawkeye, the idea of a guy with a bow while everyone else runs around with a gun is hardly original but Hawkeye has been doing it since before video games were Winter soldier has a hand gun that he holds with one hand, thats where the similarities end, the guns don't even fire similar Hela's projectile is nothing like mei's don't know where that idea came from And venture came out in April of 2024 and Marvel rivals beta testing was summer of the same year when would they have had the time to copy them to make jeff Also micro transactions and battle passes suck, but marvel rivals Doesn't operate also fomo, buying the premium pass (This first one is half off) allows you to unlock everything on it even after the seasons end, and you can still get the standard currency at a reasonable rate Lastly how does rivals art style resemble a comic style in the slightest, don't get me wrong it's awesome but not at all similar to a comic book, if you don't like it that's your opinion but comic book is neither This intention or execution

Like really, much easier just to go down and write "ah oh ufff... another OW-boy, sooo bad". (Could be said that game is mostly just protected by the fans, at least if we look from such a perspective) It's normal for people to have their own point of view, and I see no reason to behave in any aggressive way or to accuse a person of anything. For example, I didn't really like the game, although to be honest, I was really looking forward to it. However, when you launch it, you immediately feel the ‘mobile flavour’ left by the developers, which is not surprising. The colour palette is simply exploding, there are a lot of different highlights and effects everywhere, which are needed to increase the dose of dopamine, but as for me, it only reduces the ability to see the game. The third-person perspective in combination with the specific shapes and sizes of the characters also plays a role. Given this, the strong dynamics and other aspects, the team component is killed in a certain way. However, maybe I'm just missing something. Have a nice day, everyone! The movement feels like Fortnite, whereas Overwatch has a more fluid animation to characters. In Rivals it’s like you’re playing as characters that bounce around an environment like an old PC game. If you watch a replay of a OW2 game you’ll see it’s much more realistic.
