I actually liked Megaman X 6. Of course, I can speak for myself only when I say this, but I had a blast with it. Saving all these Reploids in need, unlocking the Armors for X and later having fun as Zero was very satisfactory. Yes, it has some flaws, but there is no perfect game in my experience. I have also seen some crazy players finishing the game without taking any damage, either as X or Zero.

I love x6 too... more than x4 and x5. After youtube era, I searched x6 for nostalgia and surprised how people bashed this series. Yes the difficulty a lot higher, sometimes frustrating... but kid me finished it without walkthrough, just trial error.

X6 was indeed my fav game of the franchise back in days while I was a child. I must to admit its a great Nostalgia game but it feels empty in Hardcore mode... I mean its bunch of bad level desings with a pleothora of Nightmare virus trying to suck off the injured reploids. Also the random lighoff stages. After all that willing .. it has a great OST in the franchise and the introduction of cool armors like Blade & Shadow. If I can fix some things... well, challenging bosses with less Nightmare Virus {Hardcore}

Well ... good explanation. I agree with you, but it's too much to use the phrase "worst game ever". This game has a lot of potential, for example: X's armors are amazing and the music is fantastic, also I like blaze heatrix level and the final levels because of their difficulty. Of course there are many details to make better this game, but in my opinion if you're looking for the worst franchise's game or worst game ever, play MMX7; that is the worst, really!

Okay,... are you trying to say its the worst MEGAMAN game ever made? Even in that, its REALLY a stretch. But to say its the worst GAME ever made shows not only a clear lack of any semblance of understanding of video game history, but clear lack of objectivity in any remote sense. I can hear some of you saying "did you watch the video before commenting?" No, I did not. Either the title is saying all that needs to be said, OR it is deliberately misstated in order to be clickbait, and in both cases it makes the video not worth a view. If I could tack a number from the view count, I would. The point is, I DESPISE when people constantly throw out "this is the worst of all time" for something that is still watchable or playable (as there are HUNDREDS of games and movies that are neither). Even E.T. the Extraterrestrial isn't the "worst game of all time" as there are a few more that have worse gameplay and design, but it gets the honor from historical standpoint for being one of the widely accepted principal catalysts for the Video Game Crash of 1983. Did Megaman X6 crash the video game industry? Did it end the lifespan of a console? Did it end the lifespan of the franchise it was part of? Did it refuse to even PLAY when you turned it on? If the answer to any of these is "no", then it IS NOT the worst game of all time. If you refuse to respect video game history, then I refuse to respect your opinion.

The presentation segment almost gets to me more than any of the gameplay issues, if only because ... think about the contrast especially against the presentation for the story in X4. We had animated cutscenes, and even when there were no animated cutscenes, we had dialogue between characters that happened inside of levels, where you could tell where everyone was in relation to each other. It felt so dynamic and in-depth and ... eugh, really just makes X6 look even cheaper. I don't remember it being this bad when we were kids, but then again, I really don't remember much about X6 at all anyway.

It is definitely a bad game, but definitely not the worst. There are much worse out there. This game has alot of potential and some good in it. The osts are one of the best the series has to offer imo, The opening stage is one of the best, and zero's new animation and X's new armour were pretty great. It just needed more time to be made and it probably would've been much better of a game.

Im genuinely glad someone finally called out the joke this game is, and it’s so weird to see fanboys try and defend this thing. I consider myself pretty good at games especially at higher difficulty, and I couldn’t believe how cheaply designed and broken this game is. Instant deaths, barrages of attacks at all angles, and unavoidable attacks from bosses and enemy’s really made me believe something was wrong with me. The only save and grace was the soundtrack honestly, other then that I rather get waterboarded then play this game again

I actually like MegaMan X6 actually one of my favourite games, it has 2 of my favourite armours, the Blade Armour & Ultimate Armour, the level design good (Commander Yammar, Infinity Mijinion & Blizzard Wolfangs stage are my favs) but most of it is Fucking trash, the Reploid hostages are now improved you now get parts giving you small buffs & An Extra Item & the bosses are hard but some are Medium difficulty which is fair.

megaman x6 is longer than his previous mainly because of a sistem of farming xp to become stronger and custom who inspired Zero series, the Blade armor and shadow armor are the best design of all,and are my favorites,but truth be told the bosses are very weak(exept infinity mijinion) and maps are the hardest and made to make player argry with dirty traps ,maybe he is the Dark Souls inspiration,so WORST is far from the correct word for it, X7 is well deserved this title.

When I recently first played this game, I went through expecting it to be better than people said it was. When I reached High Max on the alternate routes, I knew I was making a mistake. But that doesn't COMPARE to the crusher section in Gate Stage 2 as Zero. That shit is annoying, and it lasts so long.

Calling this the worst game of all time is an enormous stretch, considering it isn't even the worst game in its own franchise (X7 is a contender for that, and I'd argue X3 and X8 are both worse than X6, but that's just me. also feel X5's on the same level with a lot of its level design being pretty bad too and the story being RNG based and bad...then again, X4 had an awful story too) and I've always found the translation nitpick to be tiresome, since people don't seem to mind text and VA gaffs in other games near as much and it seems to just be something else to gripe about for haters. Also, most of the levels aren't even that bad (hence why they probably weren't discussed here) X6 isn't perfect, but I'd MUCH sooner play through it (especially with the Black Armor Zero cheat) than X3, X5, X7, or X8.

The higher difficulty was enjoyable to an extent and it was a different experience from the sometimes too easy x5 so it wasn't that bad at all as how you're portraying it to be. I thought that mmz story was re-written to reflect x6 ending of zero in the capsule, and although anyone can see that in the beggining, since that's true, not all the cutscenes were changed to reflect that, like x giving back the z saber to zero, which if X5 was the last x game, it would make sense why x had the z saber to begin with, but since zero had his z saber when he went to that capsule because x6 fucked up everything, then how did x have that same weapon?.

Correction: X6 was developed without Inafune's knowledge, it's why the story is how it is in MegaMan Zero, it was supposed to be wildly different, and in a way, what Inafune planned for X in that story is even worse than what Capcom Production Studio 3 had done in X7.

A few years late to the party. I adore Mega Man and all of the spin off series. This is by far the worst one. It's the only one I've never been inclined to even try to 100%. I hate this game because I wanted to like it, it looks like X4 and X5 and it tricks you. X7 is rough but at least it was trying something different and new. This is one is utterly shameless.

It's definitely not the worst game ever made, but I would 100% play any other x game over this. Yes I mean X7, X8, X5 you name it. This game is absolute trash and probably the worst designed video game I have ever played.

Sometimes the controls from 3D like the airplane stage and the jumping just didn't work, Characters move slow in 3D, you can't play as X as soon as you start the game, zero sucked, Axl was just boring to me , the boss fights felt clunky, Aila was truly annoying and she explains everything, It had slow menu's, and the game itself was just too slow and sluggish for it's own good. But I do respect your opinion if you say it's better than X6. Personally I like X6 and X8. Tbh if this game wasn't rushed it could've been the best 3D X title yet.

Am I the only one who simply can't beat this game, when I get to the secret lab I can't kill high max without the shadow armour, nor do the leap of faith with the shadow armour. The fact that it's impossible to make the leap of faith using the shadow armour proves this game was rushed.

Zelmi Mega Man, or Mega Man Classic, came first and has levels built more like obstacle courses leading up to a boss. Mega Man X is bigger, faster, and much smoother to play. Fewer breaks in the flow, no slow downs, and far more collectables and power ups hidden throughout the stages. Mega Man X was a huge leap for the franchise and remains one of the best action games ever!

Which did the following: Destroy x's character and voice zero felt hella slow punishing thousands with that burning heinyard mofo that kept saying "BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN!" like a angry cod player but worse. Against sigma form 2, you make ONE SMALL ERROR and your dead. did i mention that punch of his is near impossible to dodge because of the game's oh so great mechanics? Yes ALOT of people REALLY hate x6 but it had: a badass OST (especially the final battle) graphics looked great FUCKING NINJA ARMOR (shadow armor) it was also playable zero still well...felt like zero however it had questionable stage design and THAT FUCKING NIGHTMARE SYSTEM. It was playable if you played as Zero, but this game is Mega Man X 6 not mega man zero. Try playing the game as normal X, or with the falcon armor the things you start the game with, without parts, you can't it is impossible to beat this way and the parts are all missable. The first Gate level is not beatable without getting either the shadow armor, or having a jump part, or unlocking zero no amount of special weapons will save you in this case and technically all of these are missable and not mandatory for beating the 8 mavricks. As much as he wants to talk about the frustrating game design in X6 not mentioning this 1 fact about the game is a huge problem. Then there are stages that are not beatable without having BOTH the jumper parts and the hyper dash if you decided to go as either normal X or Shadow armor X because they do not have an air dash and it is required for certain jumps in some of the levels and you can't know this until you are already half way through some of these levels (Gate 2). X7 is at the very least finishable with any of the characters in any state, it is boring as hell and slow, and the controls feel like trash, but you do not have a stage that is literally impassable without getting missable unlockables or is going to be impossible with your character selection halfway through the stage forcing you to die and exit and reconfigure to even attempt the stage again. The funny thing is this could have been a non-issue. If I were to go back to X6 as a developer I probably would not change the stages at all because I am trash at stage design, instead I would Change X. I would give him an Air Dash as standard allowing both him and the shadow armor to have air dashes. I would allow the falcon armor limited flight and remove it's charge weapon ability (flight would still be more limited then in X5 maybe half distance but enough to essentially act as X's double jump making the game beatable with the falcon armor which is not missable or skipable as you start with it). The Blade armor would keep the delayed air dashing but would also gain the double air dash ability of X3 and with the delayed aspect would be able to change direction on dashes as well as having the chargable weapon thing over the falcon armor. Doing this would make each armor feel unique and the game would be beatable as any character, you would still need the jumper part for normal X but you would need none of the unlockables to beat the game with Falcon armor, but you can see how heavily the games design was based on X's upgrades or just straight intending you to play Zero because some parts are literally not passable without specific upgrades for X while Zero can use what ever parts and can never bring the "wrong armor" to a stage.

The game is bearable if you're willing to cheat. Input the code for Ultimate Armor X and Nova Strike your way through everything unmanageable, or input the code for Black Armor Zero and unlock Zero first thing.

Now... X6 is my 4th favourite out of the 10 games (X1 X2 X3 X4 X5 X6 X7 X8 Maverick hunter X and Command Mission) I really love the music, The design isn't the best but still... Even if the mistakes are pretty bad... I loved playing the game, especially with Zero against High Max. Enzuisan is broken and you can dash cancel z sabre and break the game. :D Although I understand your points, I just LOVED playing the game but... The only frustrating part was Gate Laboratory. ZERO. While Mega Man X6 is a very, VERY flawed game, it's definitely not the worst. It's perfectly playable from start to finish, the soundtrack is great, and it didn't have some sort of bad legacy or reputation among the gaming community. I still think it's a terrible game though, and it's easily the worst Mega Man game ever made. X7 is god compared to this shit. Atrocious level design, nonsensical story, terrible voice acting(They were too lazy to remove the japanese acting. What even.), it's plagued by horrible game design choices, the nightmare system makes stages virtually unplayable, and so much more. This game feels like a crappy rom hack made by a 14 year old who dosen't know shit about the basics of game design, it's incredibly unfair and downright sadistic. This is the very definition of fake difficulty in video games, so many cheap deaths and traps that get you stuck with no way of getting out other than restarting the game or getting a game over, segments that FORCE you to take damage, which is the pinnacle of bad game design, at least from my point of view, and so much more. I just don't get how people find X7 worse, while X7 was dreadfully boring and monotonous, X6 was cheap, frustrating and just overall really shit. 2/10 never touching it again.

X7 is worse because of the fact of no one wants to be bored when playing a game it's like if I wanted to be bored and fall asleep I go to school lol. X7 is worse for a lot of reasons though one having the main character being an unlockable is bad no matter how you look at it, Zero isn't much effective except for air time and air mobilty that's it, Axl's copy shot isn't all that useful except for rescuing some reploids, X's character was destroyed and he became a punk and too whiney,the bosses take too long to kill, some of the 3D sections are bad(somehow you move slower in the 2D sections) and that cyberspace stage made me dizzy, Aila explains the part system too much and repeats to the point it becomes rather annoying and I wish you can tune her out in the stages( thank goodness in X8 and X6 you can tune her out). The loading times are too long, X7 nostalgia panders too much from using X1 enemies, the plot is meh( the only thing I really did like about X7 was Axl and the swap mechanic), The voice acting is so God awful it puts megaman 8 and X4 to shame, it's so slow, not to mention that Red Alert's boss fight is a huge mess with the camera angles and the refights as well and this time they take even longer to kill apparently the bosses have more health than they did when you first fought them, and the sigma final boss was a huge mess like it's so awkward to jump you can't tell where you'll even land and what makes it even worse is that you're fighting over a huge pit,etc. But I respect your opinions though sorry if this is alot. :) Edit:here's a bonus you know the horrible loading screen times I mentioned before? Well if you tried to leave the stage and if you lose all your lives you will be fighting the loading times, Red Alert,the refights of the bosses again, and not to mention sigma. Try to do all this while trying to get Zero's ending in X7 trust me you will lose it.

I bought the Megaman X Legacy collection 1 & 2 for the Nintendo Switch and I cleared X1-X8 at the highest difficulty available (if any as other X games has no difficulty option). Needless to say, yes, I finished Megaman X6 at the highest difficulty. At the expense of my sanity. Fuck that game entirely.
