Why Men Are Also Responsible for Abortion

Bobby Angel makes it clear that men are just as responsible for abortion as women are. Men are responsible for protecting woman from circumstances that lead to abortion. As Pope St. John Paul II said: “The task of every man is the dignity of every woman.”
Men have failed tremendously in upholding the dignity of women. The decision to stay out of the decision-making process when a child is conceived is not a choice but a lack of a choice. Adam was guilty of the same inaction when he was given charge of the Garden of Eden and charged to protect Eve. When Eve was tempted by the serpent, Adam did nothing.
“To say nothing is to allow this evil [of abortion] to happen,” says Bobby. Men can be the voice for the voiceless by standing their ground when the thought of abortion comes up, and saying “This is wrong.”
Men should do all that is within their power to prevent the ending of the lives of children in the womb. Prayer is one of the most useful ways to do just that. Bobby invites you to pray this prayer from ProjectRachel.com:
“Eternal Father, source of all mercy and love, out of love for us you sent your son and willed that blood and water flow from his side to cleanse us from sin and restore lost innocence. Hear the cry of each woman and man who mourns the loss of his or her child to abortion. Forgive this sin. Restore us to your grace and still the terror our our hearts with a peace beyond all understanding. Through the intercession of the blessed Virgin Mary, mother of all tenderness and our mother, strengthen our faith in you. Give us the consolation to believe that this child is now living with th Lord. We ask this through Christ our Lord, who conquered sin and death,, and who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, on God forever and ever. Amen.”

I would add that parents share responsibility as well. Young women especially choose abortion because they fears shaming their parents. Parents - tell your children. I knew many young girls whose #1 worry and reason was fear of their parents' reaction.

men are MORE responsible, because nothing a woman does during intercourse will make a baby. it is the man and his choice in where to place his material that determines whether that possibility will come to be. under no circumstances whatsoever should a man impregnate a woman who 1) has not explicitly requested it and 2) is not ready

One of the really cool things about the statement above is Richie's bravery here. While one's purity should be a source of appropriate pride and the admiration of others, in our culture, it's not. In fact, most of us can remember that being called a virgin in high school, college, the military, or at work would have been an insult and singled someone out for mockery and abuse, even though it was exactly God's will for a person at that point in their lives. Its VERY brave to stand against the culture and be proud of one's purity, and it helps young people enormously. I remember a scene in a movie where a bunch of women, glamorous but aging, overheard a teenage girl tell a friend she was a virgin. They said something heartbreaking: "if only, at her age, someone had told us that wasn't a bad thing." 😥

I agree with all this video is sharing. I did see an unfortunate situation where. There was a woman and man who had 2 or 3 kids already. The women was several months Pregnant. She decided for whatever reason to leave the father of her children and resume with an ex-boyfriend. She solely decided on an abortion with support of her step mother. Then outside the abortion clinic the father to be was crying and begging for his baby’s life. For her to have mercy and carry the baby full term and she may leave if she wants but he would take full responsibility for his newborn. He had his own mother and father with him for support who also said they want their grandchild. They were all trying to talk sense into the pregnant women. She refused no matter what they said. Her step mom kept saying it wasn’t his choice. This is a very cruel but real situation of pure selfishness of why abortion is so evil. There needs to be laws for circumstances like this case where the father literally was pleading for the life of his baby. The father just kept saying how much he loves his children and he is a good father. 😭 His own mom and dad were in shock and supported their grieving son and reminded him that yes he is a wonderful dedicated father. Please let’s continue to pray for the unborn and for continued change.🙏

I wish we had more men like him here in the old, laicist, kantian Europe. As a woman I don't feel respected, as men are, in workplaces or in society. The mentality here awfully objectifies us and ESPECIALLY tends to judge with negative prejudice all that a woman says or does. I know that America has a lot of problems, but at least there are people able to talk like this, here the politically correct has created a sort of common way of thinking. We need to restore Chastity as a universal virtue. It's been cast as something womanly, and I can personally attest to believing it is the woman's responsibility to remain chaste when we date. Men can definitely say what they want to say but at the end of the day, this is a woman’s body. Men are not carrying the baby and dealing with the physiological effects of pregnancy. Why are people trying to police women’s bodies when it’s not theirs in the first place? If she did not want it in the first place, why would you try and coerce her to choose to birth a baby that she herself does not want? It doesn’t make any sense. And for you to call a woman a hoe because some men would want fatherhood and she doesn’t? The misogyny JUMPED.

@Loki Ziehm English isn't my first language, sorry for mistakes. While I agree to sit down and talk and make the decision together,it can be very traumatizing for a woman to be forced to carry the baby full term. A lot of women will not think of the baby as their baby when forced. More like alien creature or a foreign object they have to live with. Because the baby constantly moves ect she feels that other being inside of her, that she doesn't want to have. In history it drove women mad and made them do dangerous things. For example did women try to abort with clothes hangers ect. A lot died too with methods like this. I was se****ly abused as a child. Adults did doctors games with me and I had "medicine" inserted inside of me. I didn't know it dissolves, so I though I walk around with something inside my body. I dissociated away, I depersonalize and derealize until today under stress. It completly broke my mind into tiny pieces. I'm still in therapy. So if I use that experience of having something inside of me against my will, even if it's a living being, it feels like ra*e. I would end myself. Forever. I think my mind could never do that again. I think men don't understand how traumatizing this is and that the women will likely never be ok again. I thought about it for a long time, imagined different scenarios, how would I feel if I thought like that, if I did it like this. ( I don't want to get pregnant, but if I would I would get the baby and try my best to be a good mom. This is purely hypothetical. ) And in the end I come to the conclusion that it's destructive against someones will. It's breaking someones will and bodyautonomy over a long period of time ( 9 month ) without break. And the feeling that comes up is similar to my se***l abuse. I can understand how women became desperate to end it somehow and did risky thing, even if it meant they night die. If I'd be forced and it actually does feel like my abuse and it goes on and on day after day, I might be one of those desperate women tbh. There is a reason it was allowed. And that was, because women were ending pregnancies anyway, but often died or were injured badly or ended up severly mentally ill.

I’m sure that half this wouldn’t happen if men weren’t averse to taking responsibility and being fathers even if it wasn’t planned. Most women make the choice with pressure from their men and no support to do otherwise especially once brought to term. It becomes her problem alone. It’s sad but I have seen it so much. As soon as a woman says she’s with child the men bolt or start putting pressure on the woman to “get rid of it. Many of them will say that this will ruin their future if she decides to carry to term. They tell the woman they will pay whatever it costs. So how can men expect to have no blame. I think the real truth is that, NO WOMAN WANTS TO CHOOSE THAT OPTION. WHY WOULD SHE WANT TO? In a perfect world it would always be a joy to find out that kind of information but we don’t live there. This ain’t that world. I see a lot of men who regret forcing and manipulating their woman into carry out the act knowing that what couldave help her make a different choice would be if he would have just supported her. But men never think like that’s in the moment, they only worry about themselves. When a woman is pregnant, she’s ALREADY a mother. So why would she want to make a choice that’s different from that? It goes against everything. But for them, the men, fatherhood only starts after the child is born and that’s only if they care to be around for that. That’s why I think none of this will change. Women have to be able to have the right to choose. I remain neutral on the matter because of What I just said. Men do not know what it feels like to actually have to make that decision. And yet they are the same ones who force it upon their women. The ones who may feel a percentage of what that loss may be like are like unicorns, they almost don’t exist honestly. Those men are like some kind of alien. All I have seen are men jumping for joy because they “dodged a bullet”, they can go on with their lives and continue on to whatever future they imagined because as I have said, they do not consider themselves fathers until a child is born but little do they know, in my opinion, they are fathers to those children who never got to be here too. Only when they are older do they usually realize and regret that. However it instantly ruins a woman to have to do that. It ruins her state of mind forever. Her mind and her body knows that she is betraying her nature. She will never be the same again and that’s usually because as I said, the man is selfish and unable to lead. If you support her in carrying to term she usually will follow. I guarantee 9 times out of 10. But as I said, these men these days, aren’t that. They aren’t that kind of man. They are immature and quite frankly trash. They have no value in family and no courage to do what’s right. No ability to be selfless. And so many woman will have to continue to choose that option. Simple as that.

I understand there are women that are "forced" by the baby's father. But you have to understand that the idea that is most is false. Most men, by every study and statistical measure, were against the abortion...or didn't know about the baby until after the abortion. The reason I chose to respond is that we on the pro-life side have to stop spreading misinformation. We have to talk about the truth of baby development, the truth about what abortion really is and the truth about how abortion impacts the lives of the mom and dad for decades. The way we end abortion is to provide healing to those who have experienced abortion. They will be the strongest voices. And we cannot provide healing by continuing to paint men as predators or perpetrators.

I believe the job of pastor is a masculine job. By connecting male reproductive abilities and responsibilities to the job of pastor, this leads to the label of quasi-pastor to all men, which means men shall only get women pregnant within marriage and having the means to protect their offspring. Having women as pastor leads to the view that men are not necessarily quasi-pastors, which gives people the idea that men can dump their reproductive responsibilities on the women as they are motivated by their irresponsible libido, and engage in prostitution, fornication, and adultery. If an abortion is none of the husband's business, how can it be the government's business? Look at the fruits or women's ordination by comparing the religious groups with women pastors to those which only have male pastors.

Men tend to think they have a voice when they DON'T want the baby...and get shy when they want it. Not wanting it, results in him telling the mother to have an abortion or him rejecting the child, removing himself from his/her life. Some men are really concerned about having to pay child support, keeping it a secret from his wife, or being tied to a baby or the woman in general. There could be several reasons. Except now Roe vs. Wade is overturned, they know there is only one way this pregnancy can go. Its better to be faithful or to not have sex outside of marriage. Take their approach to sex seriously.

Blame is on the woman and men can run with that. Men are programmed to not show emotion because it’s a sign of weakness or it’s just not “manly.” Not taking ownership is weakness and not being manly, cowardly. Deal with this. Unfortunately this happens every day. I wonder if that impacts the male suicide rate at all. It is astonishing to me that men resign themselves to a society where they have no natural rights, at all. It is an almost surreal reality.

I am a 71 year old male and feel that we/males should be in the forefront of the fight for life. After all, God gifted us with the seed therefore we shall forever hold the greater guilt but praise the Lord: through repentence and the blood of Jesus we are given pure conscience (not putting away the filth of flesh/suffering caused by sin) but power (Holy Spirit) to move forward in the righteousness of God by grace and through faith in Jesus Messiah)! For we know what commandments God gave us by conscience and are without excuse! The following was written by the Apostle Paul to Christians: "as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more. For you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence." (to especially include sexual pleasure, 1 Thessalonians) God made woman beautiful and desireable. Which even caused the fall of many angels. Young males are bombarded with enticing images of woman and it seems that a large majority of woman could care less even to enjoying this temptation.

A man can't force a woman to abort but the state will force the father to "step-up" and pay child support. Its crazy to say men need to take responsibility while obsolving women from any by allowing abortion. Abortion for convenience or "mental health" as is sometimes claimed is the method women have to duck responsibility for not being on any of the 27 methods of contraception but still having sex. Society ensures by law men cannot bail on this responsibility. A man who wants the baby has mo legal recourse to save it from an abortion anytime the mother wishes . Its descusting. These women are never the same, they hide that part too.

You should be informed that so many women suffer from having an abortion, emotionally. This could happen a few years or decades later. Women don’t talk about it because it hurts too much plus they don’t know that there is post-abortive grief counseling out there. It’s regret, remorse, grieving over the loss of your child (which you didn’t realize you were a mom at the time due to being so overwhelmed and over factors). Not all women realize that they are mothers when we find out that we’re pregnant. Even those that have been trying you here “we’re going to be a (mother, father, or family) not realizing that they already are. What causes women to make that choice? Various reasons, no emotional support, shame, condemnation, fear (very strong factor). Every woman handles the abortion differently; they don’t realize that they may grief and push this down because they cannot talk about this with anyone because of, once again, shame and condemnation. Men should also be held accountable when they run or go into denial. I seriously doubt the regret, if any, haunts them til the end of time.

Yes, we do bear responsibility for our actions, as all people should do. If we have unprotected sex there is the possibility that a pregnancy can result, and yes, it is our responsibility to use a condom in order to avoid an unwanted pregnancy. Women had 41 choices. Perhaps they should be responsible and use some of them? Either that or avoid having sex altogether. In the case of an unwanted pregnancy there is either carry to term, keep or put the baby up for adoption, or seek an abortion and terminate the pregnancy. Those are the options. In either case does a man have a say? In Canada a man has no legal rights where the unborn child is concerned because the unborn child is not considered a legal person with rights. All decisions are the responsibility of the woman and she doesn't have any legal obligation to discuss them with the father. When a child is born both parents are financially obligated to support the child. If unmarried, the father has no right to the naming of the child unless the mother agrees. To sum up then, in Canada the father has no rights, only obligations. In no circumstance can a father fail in his obligations to a child without consequences. Know your ground and step up! Do the right thing BEFORE you do something that has consequences you're not prepared for.

It has a lot to do with how women are judged by society if they get pregnant in an unplanned manner (or unmarried). For some ppl the shame is so big and abortion seems to give or mantaine their dignity, honor, families affection and career opportunity etc. So if you are a judgy person your are contributing to more women making the abortion choice.

Society pushes, coerce Women to have abortions. They tell dangerous lies "A child will change your life for the worse, you won't go to college, you won't have a career, you will lose everything, you can't afford it, you won't make anything of yourself if you have a child right now, your not ready, you will die if you have a baby, better to abort than put it in foster care". ect Surprised the people who are pro death, pro Margaret Sanger, Pro Planned parenthood push for the massacre of the unborn? Most Women have abortions out of fear and manipulation. Women, Mother's need support so they will not be motivated to do the wrong thing bc of fear and lies. I thank God my Uncles biological parents chose Life. He is an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He loves those grandkids more than anything and Lord, those kids love their grandpa. GOD has a plan for us all 💙

Great video. It makes me sick thinking about the recent speech by Michelle Williams at the Golden Globes, where she alleged she had an abortion. She is certainly smart enough to know about protection; her partner, same. She harped on women having a right to choose (to end a pregnancy,) but yet nothing was mentioned about her partner having a say in that. Was he supportive? Not supportive? Bobby is right, much of society has numbed itself to the responsibility of sex and procreation. Numbed itself to how abortion affects a mother's mental health, as well as a father's. 😥😓😥😓😥

No, it's women's bodies; women's choice... They have the right to choose their future and weather or not they are pregnant. But also, men should have the choice to be fathers... not forced to be fathers by the government..

You are correct, some men have to stand up, but now with some women who claim, my body my choice..there have been some men that voice their opinion for their child..some men do not want abortion. So women are equally at fault there, men need to talk to women, this is correct. I would love to hear when a women was talked against abortion by men. I do not think that it's men that are to be taking ownership of this more, BUT again with women being such unmothering women now, they are mostly at fault! Men do not stay silent , yes! I agree.

I know women who have had abortions not out of fear but just because. Didn’t tell the men involved. Sometimes women are not the victims. This video is correct but there is more to the story.

If a man and woman are married then the man has a say in wheather the child is born, kept, adopted or aborted. If the couple are unmarried the women doesn't have a responsibility to even TELL the man she is pregnant. So if men oppose abortion then they shouldn't have sex outside of marriage. I am 100% AGAINST abortion. I myself was adopted out as an infant due to sex outside of marriage. I am blessed because my biological mother chose to give me the gift of life. Her one request to the parents who adopted me was that I be raised Catholic. I don't know my biological mother but I love her with my whole heart. If men sin and cause a pregnancy I pray that they will man up & marry the female. But there is no guarantee she will marry him. No guarantee she will want the child. Men need to think ahead of time and not put the couple in a place of temptation.

@@harmonygordon6901 That's absolutely silly, marriage changes nothing, the facts are that it takes a man and a woman to make a baby therefore it is their baby logically and scientifically because the offspring receives traits from both parents. A man should always have a say so about his child.

sage wishful thinking Sage An unmarried woman can always walk away. If she disappears the man may never know she was pregnant . Never know the outcome of the pregnancy. A sacramental marriage in the Catholic Church is a safeguard for men to protect their children . A wise man will marry before producing children . A sacramental marriage puts God at the heart of the family . God is worthy of trust. Both husband and wife can trust in God and dare to begin to bear fruit

@@harmonygordon6901 never said that wasn't a possibility, I was saying that a woman should be morally and legally obligated to not do that.
