I'm a divorced 60 yo Physician, Married 18 yrs. Model Looks.....in shape. Needless to say I never cheated on any girl I have ever dated or when I was married. why? Working with women all day you get plenty of offers in my field. But looking back My mother and father were both loving and caring respectful people. As a physician myself, my ex being a physician did not end like that. It ended with her making a false allegation against me and me ending up in jail. Only thing that saved me was my cell phone evidence. The whole narrative in my divorce was her claiming abuse until she was busted by a hidden camera. My upbringing was similar to yours. Work with woman all day, can see right through them.

One has to wonder how evil can manifest itself in people that have love for someone? My Uncle who was a retired surgeon in Italy and had the looks of G Clooney, navigated his career married to a Italian lady and they were the envy of myself growing up...Just the essence of class. When My aunt died of breast cancer he had a flock of women calling on him..but he enjoyed his life and he told me no one could replace Rose Marie in any way. He couldn't have sex with another woman for he felt as though he was cheating. Time has made me forgive I heard a song in the car a few months ago by Don Henley, The heart of the matter..and it really made me think. I think that monogamy is a discipline that offers stability as a reward - but it doesn't guarantee it. Personally, I don't know that I would be okay with having my partner sleep with other people and so I can't expect those rules to be different for myself. Accountability is important - learn not to pick a shit partner, be very selective and you'll probably be okay.

I have all the options and choose monogamy. I don’t know what world Rich lives in where in a relationship a woman is okay with their man stepping out of a relationship for sex and she is staying monogamous. I’m 35 and have had my share of women, and have not met one woman that thinks that way. I definitely still want to sleep around, but the abundant value my girlfriend brings to the table makes me respect her enough to resist that urge. One friend of mine had his CDL revoked and he was put in jail for a few weeks till his mother bailed him out of jail and got him back on his feet. I usually agree with Rich, but he really misses the mark in what motivates women sometimes…love can really warp a woman’s rational decision making, which is evident in those who stick with a guy while he cheats. Many women will still cheat if they are in love, but I’m willing to bet that if she cheated…that person met a need of hers that was not being met with her partner. Love complicates everything. I personally have never encountered a woman who was okay with her man cheating in my 39 years, but I’m sure there are some out there who are willing to put up with it to keep a guy with money, I guess. She might take the guy back, but it doesn’t mean she’s ok with the cheating…it’s hurtful. I personally wouldn’t be able to get intimate with a guy who is intimate with another…it negates the respect and trust that allowed intimacy to be possible in the first place. Most women I know aren’t even ok with guys going to strip bars lol. If women cheat, I’m betting it’s either because she has developed romantic feelings for someone else…I firmly believe women fall in love far easier than men do. Married people can develop crushes too for sure…it’s funny because I think some people assume that attraction toward others just ceases when they tie the knot, and you see this all the time in men and women who get super jealous when their sig other finds someone else attractive. It really upset me when my ex would talk about other women, but with my husband, we freely state if another person is attractive, and it’s just not a big deal…just a fact of life. I am well aware that he thinks I’m cute, and I’m not an idiot believing that there aren’t a bazillion hotter women out there. Acknowledging that attraction to others in 100% normal can be liberating. So, sure, your lady might tolerate cheating for any number of reasons, but she will most likely not respect or trust you any longer. I would just love to hear how that conversation between a couple goes when he’s telling her he wants other people.

More money, big house, toys and followers does not make a man “better” IMO. Stimulating, thoughtful conversation, hobbies, adventurous activities, sense of humor, desire to spend time and understanding of a certain amount of autonomy along with monogamy is what makes a man better IMO. Having enough money to support himself is enough for me. We put our resources together and make work. It’s sad men feel like they have to have all this excess stuff to be a “better”man. Guess I’m old school. More turned on by a man who can fix things than buy things. Especially if he asks me to help and explains his thinking. That kind of man is far from boring. Actually the US recently passed 50% of women are childless by 30. They are waiting later and later and sometimes past 30 the last egg has sailed so it's not the end of the world for you. Sometimes they wait until 30 to hoe it out first and other times it's to focus on their career. If you have a decent career you can get these established women and have a comfortable dual income if it comes to that.
