Its all in the coil technology i build radio antennas for amateur radio I've been toying about a bit with ideas on this for some time now being into gold detecting as most p i detectors work around 2 to 3.5 MHz just above am radio broadcast bands .Its like those gen 5 jet fighters with less surface area for the radars to find them due to their design. Phased array works buy having lots of small coils antennas making up one big coil making it two dimensional not one as normal coil design , yes it might work with computer control between the control box and coil where the phased angle and phase shifting could be changed ..it certainly would be a game changer.

Have you ever thought of holding the coil at an angle to the ground and scanning across the object you are not sure about. I was told about this , have tried it with coins and have some success with shallow objects. Naturally it it decreases penetration but but makes detecting a little more fun at times.

It's always fun to tinker. I don't think it would work in the real world. Ground balance and 'air balance' would constantly be out of sorts.

That's why you supposed to swing the detector properly not just holding over the top

Hi Dave...the point was the detector 'scans' straight up and down....coil swing does not change that.

Hi Tony and Lisa… You never said what settings you had on the 6000.. You can have it on Manual 9 Normal ..No wave lines.. Or difficult.. Settings.. Then try in AUTO 2 with Threshold OFF with No lines then try Difficult.. I will think..🤔 You are going to get Different results…!! Cheers Famo59👍🍻🍻
