Gimp is the best IDE. You can have text in several layers, even going outside of the canvas, and you can have multiple colors, sizes and styles in one text field. Even better, you can make art assets in it, and with the python-fu scripting interface, you could write a compiler and debugger and truly have your all-in-one IDE.

As an advanced user you can, instead of rewriting - eh - _repainting_ the ")", use the selection macro and reformat parts of your existing code base to comply with the expected linting rules (e.g. tabs vs spaces).

I got a wild idea today, that paint could be used to program by setting the color of individual pixels to the bit pattern for machine language, to write a raw exe, save as bmp, then rename to exe (although, I'm not sure if bmp has some metadata as part of the file format, which if it does, you'd need to use some other program to strip off that metadata so all you have is the bits/pixels of your program, so that Windows could execute it. That's how I found this video - I decided to search for "use microsoft paint to program". You should do a followup video of that lol.

Ok, I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but trust me on this: disable mouse support in your MS Paint and use the WASD keys like an etch-a-sketch. I disabled mouse support four years ago and haven't had a single syntax error since.

Well I think that your compiler is all wrong, clearly the code should be derived from the hex colours that you are painting. The the hex is converted into the pure binary that the computer exucutes. Teaches colour recognition, being a microsoft employee you sould know that all windows versions hae been programmed using this method.
