I doubt the microwaves are in themselves a problem with food, although I very rarely use a microwave. However, cooking in or around plastic is a really bad idea. Storing food in plastic is not such a good idea but you can get away with a bit more. Fatty foods are particular bad for storing in plastic because the fats bind (cause leaching) with substances in the plastics such as plasticizers.

Microwaves are not ionizing radiation, are low energy, and cannot alter the molecular bonds in water. The doctor has gotten some bad information.

Microwave energy causes the water molecules within the food to vibrate. This vibration generates heat through friction between the molecules.
@johnschmidt8440Ай бұрын
@@firelight-vitality That is correct, but I'm not sure why you're telling me this. It doesn't fit in with what I said.

What about cooking on electric top instead of gas stove?
@trail.blazerАй бұрын
Absolutely fine. The frequency of electric top is typically the same as mains frequency; around 50hz. That is not going to damage anything. All cooking denatures protein, as do acids such as lemon juice on fish.
