High rent. Food prices are always high. MacDonald $15 PER person or more. Families cannot afford midtown. 😢

@@4-Ever194 honestly it’s not really a family neighborhood to me. When my kids were younger it’s not a place I would have selected.

Reno is full of ups and downs and the current landscape is the least cool that has ever existed. With a city that has gleefully destroyed most of it's historic buildings and killed off nearly all of its legacy businesses, the town is a big box suburb with almost no charm. There are a couple of good restaurants but otherwise the city is pretty soulless combining the worst parts of suburban and urban living. At one time the city had a cosmopolitan charm, but local yokels tried to turn it into a bad facsimile of orange county rather than successfully preserve it like a Palm Springs. Most interesting people have left or died and been replaced by townies priced out of California's less desirable suburbs.

@@Truelib99Hobbes you are entitled to your opinion for sure. How long have you lived here? I appreciate the comments and your opinion but I think most of the people living here would not agree with you.

@@LivingInRenoTahoe I've lived in Reno off and on for a total of 10 years when I'm not at my home in Europe or my other home in Southern California. I was visiting frequently after covid but have grown increasingly bored with the offerings. Post covid life is changing in the rest the world and Reno is not keeping up. I went to Smithridge. I've stayed at PRC when there was an active shooter. There are a few businesses that would be at home in any large city but the majority aren't that great and the old divebars are essentially being shut down and replaced by made up bars with no tie to their neighborhoods or the history of the city. There are a lot of fake fancy businesses, public transport is still pretty terrible and development projects are poorly thought out and planned. The city has no recognizable style and like I said almost every legacy business is gone. I'm sure Fresno says the same thing. It's important to be a cheerleader for your community, but it's also important to be practical and honest.

@@Truelib99Hobbes every city has their issues and so do Southern Ca and Europe but I hear you. It’s not perfect here but to be it’s way better than most.

I do think Midtown has a lot of great eateries but the parking is horrible and the median to divide the one way streets was a horrible idea. Hey that's Reno... Ass backwards

@@happyhippie2853 the parking is tonight but the point was To make it walkable which it is and that part is nice.

Great job capturing the updated versions of the Reno Area which would include Tahoe/ Sparks/ Carson City/ Spanish Springs/ South Meadows/ Mt Rose/ Virginia City. 🫡🤝 Moved to the area since mid 90s i never thought Reno would be what it is now. I guess the high expenses from California/ western part of the U.S. I was living in Washington State Arlington, Snohomish area recently moved back to Reno area, really impressed with all the renovation updates in the area. I see some comments saying its not the same feel, if people are looking for what Reno once was back in the pre 90s era look into Winnemucca, Elko, Carlin, or Alturas California, Susanville California areas. The Reno area was always known as a retirement location not much going on, but it was very affordable place to live.
