Carmen Gumina is the school superintendent in a large district in Western NY. Carmen believes that a school's success is not measured by test scores alone but rather by how joyfully engaged and compassionately connected the students are. When schools commit to the creation of a mindful culture of joy and compassion, the lives and learning spaces for students, as well as adults can become an incubator of resilience.
