They need to stop listening to nfl draft “analysts” when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks and stop being swayed by the notion of the classic quarterback. Take a guy that you can build an offense around and mentor into the leader of your team. Stop trying to turn dudes with certain skills into something they are not and definitely stop plugging these young kids into spots and expecting them not to struggle or have growing pains. Quarterbacks are a hit or miss prospect. A lot of the great ones aren’t even first rounders. I also love listening to how wrong Mel Kiper is on his draft analysis because later those same guys he trashes end up leading the league. And also some of his knocks on certain players about them being “slight of build” are soooo dumb especially when you actually look at the guy and see he’s basically talking out his ass. Just stop listening to these dumbass analysts they don’t have a crystal ball to show where a person will end up. I mean look how many ppl swore up and down Lamar Jackson should have been a wide receiver or running back. Now ain’t that a bitch!

If you knew satistics you would understand that you can't determine a cause a effect relationship from an observational study, because of all the confounding variables. You would need to do an experiment to determine that Mitchell Trubisky had less potential than Deshaun Watson. So pretty much, it is impossible to determine who had more potential, because of the confounding variables. You could say that you THINK Watson's career is turning out better because he had more potential, but you can not 100% say that, because there was never an experiment blocking out the other possible explanatory variables. But I do think that Nagy is also to blame as in most of the play calling was focused on what Trubisky strengths or lack there of. To me Trubisky is a current form of Rex Grossman. Big arm, little accuracy and makes stupid plays. The Bears have always been a defensive team but that being said they also have had great runningbacks too. Nagy's offense doesn't focus on the run whatsoever. Trading Howard away to the Eagles for a 5th rounder was a bad trade. Cohen has been great when given the ball, Montgomery too. But there's too little running plays being called.

The only reason mitch trubisky failed because the offense o line have a hard time protecting him, trubisky can't do anything right in the offense especially when he literally can't read defense on the field, the bears shouldn't never drafted trubisky the first place, ryan pace should be fired for drafted him back from 2017.

As for what I think Trubisky's future is. First, I see you made this right after Foles replaced him. So you haven't yet experienced the suck that is Foles. Which casts doubt on how effective Nagy's system truly is. BUT..... this Bears O-line is a fucking joke. It has to be ranked in the bottom 5 at LEAST in the NFL. I guess you can blame that on Pace too... for not protecting his QB he felt the need to move up ONE SPOT to get in the following seasons, but there is also the fact the Bears O-line has seen some injuries. But Charles Leno still being on this team has baffled me for the last few years. Dude has been mediocre at best almost since his first day in a Bears jersey. Why and how he has retained his job and why they felt the need to retain him is beyond me. The core problem though you did mention though. Ryan Pace. Not necessarily because he's a bad draft picker. He's hit some home runs since Trubisky. Roquan Smith anyone. Kyle Fuller. Thing is though..... they're all defensive players. He also drafted Leonard Flyod, and after 2019 the debate was if he was worth spending money on to keep him here. Pace and company felt he wasn't worth it.... and let him walk. Just to see him have a pro-bowl caliber season in LA where he's absolutely CRUSHING it. It's not too surprising because Floyd showed he was a good player here. Just nothing like what he's turned into in LA. But he's another Pace pick flourishing. But again..... he's on defense. But even that's not the main issue here. Him being incapable of evaluating talent to retain. No, his main problem is his propensity to throw away draft picks in trades. It's his achilles heel and he seemingly can't help himself. It's like he HAS to trade at a minimum 1 draft pick every single year.... at a MINIMUM 1 draft pick..... usually it's 2 or 3 picks. It's hard to keep your team competing and thriving, and continuously building to improve when you only have 5.... maybe 6 draft picks to replenish the roster. And if they do have 7 or more picks in a draft it's because Pace traded picks in rounds 1-3 and they have 7 to 9 picks in a draft but over half of them are in round 5 and later...... meaning it's picks that are likely not going to make a difference unless he gets REALLY lucky - Eddie Jackson anyone...... but again - defense. That said, I think letting Nagy off the hook completely isn't warranted either. He is clearly the one behind them signing Foles because of past experience with him. This team could've easily went out and got Teddy Bridgewater..... or Cam Newton..... or even Marcus Mariotta. So Nagy got Foles, supposedly "his guy" he KNEW could make his system "work" in Chicago. well, we're through week 12 and Foles has absolutely sucked ass.... posting even WORSE numbers than Trubisky. So IS Trubisky really as bad as he seems to be? Or is Nagy's system just fucking garbage and he's an overrated as fuck coach? I don't know the answer to that..... and I KNOW the Bears brain trust in the front office doesn't know that either. The Bears front office couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. The HEART of the Bears problem. But as to what i think Trubisky's future is...... his 5th year option was declined before the season. Nagy clearly, and possibly rightly, gave up on him. Trubisky started week 12 and didn't exactly show he was worth keeping around. I think this week they announced Trubisky is going week 13...... against the lowly Lions. So if Trubisky has one of his random hot as fuck games we have to keep in mind... it's against the Lions. I don't know if Trubisky can prove himself to be worthy of keeping around at this point. I honestly think what the Bears SHOULD do...... is clean house. I'm talking firing pretty much everyone in the front office, not just Pace. If the new GM wants to retain Nagy, fine..... keep him in place for what will be a rebuild. Because then the new GM shall be instructed to start trading their stud defensive players IMMEDIATELY for draft picks, and kick off a massive rebuild and if Nagy sticks around, he'll be here helming it dropping in his two cents on draft day, so he can pick players he deems worthy to play in his system..... and then if they fail it's definitive - Nagy's system blows ass. Trubisky will be let go after 2020, and likely find himself in a backup roll on some team. Or maybe the Bengals pick him up as Burrows heals from his absolutely destroyed leg. I can see an outcome wherever Trubisky ends up though..... he thrives. Or at least proves to be a capable QB. Maybe not top 8 or so but a fringe top 10 QB. A QB you can build a team around and he'll be "good enough" to win with. Or..... I can see him having a Brian Hoyer career..... .and just be a roving career backup for the next decade. A Chase Daniel if you will. Bottom line, I can see Trubisky having a fairly long career, likely as a backup. But I can tell you this - he will not be in Chicago once the calendar rolls over to 2021.

I enjoy your content quite a bit in my off time, but I like Zach shamlers (strong opinion sports) take on this. Mitch is an at best average quarterback with a few good weapons; Allen Robinson, Tarik Cohen and an at least average offensive line. Most mock drafts of the 2017 draft had dashaun Watson higher anyways and he was a much more complete quarterback than any one coming out of the class out the bat (biased I am a Texans fan after all). Mitch I would say is never gonna be a franchise quarterback but maybe a quality backup on a team with good support
@KermitTheGamer214 жыл бұрын
When the Bears drafted Trubisky, I thought he would be decent. He wasn't going to be as good as Deshaun Watson or Patrick Mahomes, but he would be enough to alleviate the suffering of trying to watch Jay Cutler try in vain to throw a football, and hopefully propel the Bears at least into the playoffs again. He has shown promise on multiple occasions, and I thought that getting Matt Nagy, a renowned quarterback coach, would help him find the footing he needs. That didn't happen. Trubisky consistently overthrows his targets and he has issues throwing long passes, meaning he really doesn't get a lot of passing yards. I think that the Bears ought to keep him as a backup this year, and then let him go and find a new quarterback to take his place or just let Foles keep the starter job if he proves himself enough. Foles has done well in both of the games he started, despite losing one of those games, and I would argue that he was decent back in Jacksonville but did not have the team surrounding him to really make him shine. A bit like Matt Stafford and the Lions, really. With the Bears, he has a decent offense and a solid defense to support him, and I think he'll do well. Also, on a closing note, fuck Ryan Pace we need to fire him and not moving Kyle Long to left tackle and keeping him on the team was one of the stupidest decisions ever made. I rest my case.

ill be the one to say it, the Chicago bears drafted Trubisky because unfortunately they will never draft a black QB. The stigma with black quarterbacks in the NFL along with the bears are known for their unbelievable defenses that they manage to put together year after year. They knew Watson and Mahommes were better quarterbacks then Trubisky. Taking Trubisky allowed their defense to be the hierarchy of the team as per usual. They look to have their defense win them the games and put up the points. Look at their super bowl season. The defense literally outscored the offense 2-1 in that season and playoff run. A black quarterback puts too much emphasis on the offense aswell as most black quarterbacks are scramblers. the bears offense centers around a strong running game to set up a passing game. Scrambling quarterbacks just dont fit into their offense that they think they should be running. Ryan Pace needs to be fired, hes ran the team into the ground long enough and we are nowhere in site of being a contending super bowl team in the next 5 years at this rate
