@manillafresh574 жыл бұрын
The coaching staff was the reason they were so good in the first place. The scheme they put together for RG3 was great, but he either felt he was too good for that style after he came back from injury or was just scared of getting hurt again with his haphazard style of running. I really like Robert, but the dude never slid when he was supposed to and was always taking unnecessary hits. Between those bumps and his unwillingness to continue to grow within that same offense, he was doomed to fail and that was on him.

As someone who bought 5 rg3 jerseys in 2012 I was the biggest fan. But I mostly blame Dan Snyder and Rg3's father for his downfall. Rg3's father for thinking RG3 was Aaron Rodgers and Dan Snyder for empowering a rookie to the point where he can bypass the coach.

He never was the same after he picked up that injury during that horrendous game vs Miami a few years ago that had him out for awhile. The coach shuffling didn’t help at all, but Mariota really started to shy away from what made him great. He was shy when scrambling, he was hesitant to run outside of the pocket, and his pocket awareness was just god awful. So in fairness I’d say it’s both half in half about who ruined Mariota’s career.

The title had me thinking of guys like Carson Palmer or Calvin Johnson , guys that were great players stuck on a bad team. But you gave us players that were flat out busts. Matt Leinart?? This guy had Edgerin James and probably the best wide receiver duo at the time in Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Bolden, a decent QB could win on that team. Leinart was abysmal, I don't see how that was the organization's fault. Don't forget that once they replaced Leinart with Warner they went to the Super Bowl. However the thing that is more confusing to me is the inflection of astonishment in your voice when drop the bombshell that Tennessee cut Vince Young after a season where he had thrown 10 whole touchdowns. "Gasp" Again, a guy That was the 3rd overall pick and never threw for more than 12 touchdowns in a season is a bust. You can't put that on Jeff Fischer and the Titans. As a Hawks fan I watched the game between the Wildcard game between us and Washington. I couldn't believe it, RG3, couldn't even drop back, it was pitiful and on the play his knee buckled we didn't even touch him. No doubt RG3, wanted to show toughness and leadership and play ASAP to help the their playoff drive. Football, is a brutal sport , with inherent risks that those who play it accept as being part the of the game. Minimizing those risks, protecting players even from themselves, and looking after their welfare should be paramount. However Mike Shanahan, an experienced SB winning HC, should have done the right thing and told RG3, I know want to play but it's serious you need to to fully recover and for your own good your done for the season. But MS, didn't, RG3, before the initial injury was phenomenal but he was never the same after that was ruined by a callous, HC & a stupid owner. Go Hawks

Griffins' career was cut short because the MO R ON didn't or couldn't slide till it was too late and he got a serious knee injury vs. the ravens during the regular season and which tore completely in the seahawks playoff game.

Colt McCoy when he came to Cleveland! First year played awesome unfortunately change in coaching for second year ruined it all!

RG3 would have washed out anyway within 2-3 more years. He was, like all the other "wildcat"/run-option QB's, a 1 trick pony. Drop back, do 1 quick check of your primary, if covered take off...

Look at what the Detroit Lions did to Joey Harrington. Mariota played most of a game when Derek Karr got injured. He was not the same player he was in Tennessee. John Gruden is a great offensive coach. Watching Marcus play was amazing. He has a future ahead of him

That....and the fake "old look" screen cover. That is so goofy, just show the film clips clear not with a bunch of fake old lines and squiggles.
