having over 1k hour on moira i love it so much. mass healing, and can defend my self, preserve my life to do more value to the team, challenge squishies and go after supports and chip in dmg because 8/10 games team just ignores them.

I loooove playing Moira with either Lucio or Brig, obviously short range heals won’t work in every scenario, but when the team is grouped up and nothing is able to die it’s so fun to be that frustrating for the enemy team. Especially good on control maps!

She does take no skill, but other supports have the potential to get more value against most comps. Moira is a pick where you can get value easily, ana is a pick where you can get A LOT of value but its more difficult. Theres a reason hes switching to moira and not just choosing her off rip, because she’s usually not the best choice.

Moira gets far too much flak, especially from Masters and higher players for "being too simple" but sometimes that's all you need. And her kit being so simple allows you to change playstyles on the fly while still helping out your team. Easily an A-tier, lowkey S-tier support. She just lacks flashy utility but people would also complain if she had utility.

There are plenty of heroes with simple kits, but only some of them are derided for it. Sure, some of those heroes stomp noobs harder than others, but that really has nothing to do with what it takes to be successful with them in high-skill play.

I find Moira to be very useful when my teammates are having trouble with enemy dive heroes, especially an enemy dive tank, and I can’t keep them alive. Just go Moira and continually tie up their supports, and then the enemy tank just melts whenever they jump in. Works pretty well for me in situations where my tank seems to be struggling for whatever reason; taking away the enemy healing lets my tank do whatever they want.

Moira felt a lot more situational to me in OW1, but the increased self-peeling of the other supports and the reduction in pressure to tank-heal makes her feel so flexible to me. She can move around really freely and switch so fluidly between playing defensively and aggressively. She can pinch hit as a tank or a dive DPS for a bit when needed. Her power to sucker enemies into spending resources chasing her around should not be underestimated either. It’s funny to me that people still reflexively say that Moira is bad, because to me she feels like she was made for 5v5.

If you consider yourself a support hero, learn them all and have fun doing it. They all have incredible value in different ways. I never played Ana on console because I though her skill floor was too high and now she's my main because of her incredible cooldowns and healing potential. But if my team isn't getting kills I'll play Bap, Moira or Zen. If I'm getting dove with no help I'll switch to Kiriko if my team's playing Dive, or I'll switch to Lucio if we have Reinhardt or a slower tank/dps combo... Brig if my support teammate is being dove and in a pinch I'll play Lifeweaver if I need to get teammates to high ground or something. There aren't many support heroes anyway so learn their strengths and you can really turn a fight around (also watch your replays and work on your positioning; don't stagger and miss the next team fight).

Be wherever you need to but fade when it's dangerous back to safe positions. Always be doing something. Save fade of the enemies are punishing you after you use it. Had a sigma ult me every time I used fade so I had to start getting stingy with it. Wasn't even comp lol. Moira won that game for me because my team was so uncoordinated I had to do what they should have been when necessary. Big heals because no protection, they let kills escape too easily, needed help with damage, literally everything. Any time your team is lacking something Moira can fill it and more. Unless it's not something healing or damage can fix.

Moira’s positioning is very dynamic, as she has a good movement ability on a pretty low cooldown. As a starting point, I would say that if you feel like you can’t keep up on healing, you should try dealing more damage. If you’re struggling to deal damage, you should try pushing more aggressive angles. Moira is great at pushing or holding moderate-distance off-angles, because she can Fade back to safety whenever she needs to. That all goes double if you feel like your team is losing fights to enemy support utility that you can’t match. Make them use their utility saving themselves from you, so they can’t use it to make your teammates’ lives difficult. Sometimes, you can win fights for your team without even getting a kill, simply by forcing the enemy supports to put all of their attention into you. Great way to help your teammates get through chokes against good area-denial DPS heroes too. Make them chase you around instead, and suddenly your teammates stubbornly pushing main every time into that Junkrat or Sym turret nest isn’t a problem anymore.

He already knew the Sombra was low. Also, since they’re really close to capping, it’s way more important to secure kills to prevent defenders from stalling the payload, especially given that their spawn is closer. Even if he dies to the Sombra there, the Sombra would still die to the damage orb after, which is probably a worthwhile trade in this situation.
