There can be many reasons for a change of camera - here are some of mine. Along with my first impressions of the camera and a glimpse of a first test in the field (with example photos).
Filmed on an Olympus E-M1 mkii with 12-40mm f2.8 Pro (indoors) and an Olympus E-PL8 with 9-18mm (in the field).
Filmed (studio) on the 28th of February 2024.

Great video and interesting purchase. Often thought about something similar myself , so looking forward to see more images from it.

It already feels like the everyday pick up and go camera I've been looking for. Reliable output and great IQ plus very easy to use. The batteries seem a bit weak but I think they're old. Thanks for watching (as always) and commenting.

Enjoyed the video Stevie I also had the S and enjoyed it I think it’s probably the best value of all the series, becoming exorbitant of late. The lack of function buttons and customs is a niggle. I found the colours out of it very pleasing and the fact it can shoot in 1:1 format is another bonus. I was surprised at the time it didn’t have classic chrome but the X-T1 did. As you say it’s compact has the fixed lens and makes you think carefully about each compostion. I hope you enjoy it and don’t find it too restricting. I still miss the X-pro 1 with a 35mm 1.4 lens attached Maybe one day I’ll go back 😊

I'm finding the X100S an ideal everyday 'pick up and use' camera. Seeing the grandkids, neighbours birthday party, walk over the nature reserve, etc. Easy to use and reliable, with great IQ. I'm not sure what's different about the OVF on this camera, but I've gelled with it in a way I didn't with the X-Pro1. More to come with this camera. Thanks (as always) for watching and commenting.

One camera I always regretted selling was the x100T, a wonderful camera which I now can’t afford to buy back, oh the irony lol

I kind of understand where you're coming from. I tend to let a camera sit in the cupboard for ages before I decide to sell it. That way I (hopefully) am sure I won't want it back! Doesn't always work though - I'm on my second Lumix GX1 now..... For me, the X100 line are an almost perfect everyday camera (it seems, for the moment...). Thanks for watching and commenting!
