My cousin once told me... “The best way to get over someone is to get under someone.” Lmao, that was the absolute WORST advice I’ve ever taken. 😂😂😂 I literally just transferred the heartbreak to the next guy, making it heartbreak x2. Trash. Healing comes from inside... a time for peaceful solitude and reevaluating. Loving yourself again so that you can show the future person how you want to be loved. Allowing yourself to FEEL the hurt instead of running away from it or filling the void with someone else! OR something else-drinking, smoking, etc.

I just got out of a 2 year relationship...he moved on 2 weeks later and they are already going on a bacation. It's been 3 months since the breakup, I went on 1 date and immediately knew I wasn't ready so I'm gonna take more time. I can't see how folks can move on so fast unless they checked out of the relationship months before which I can understand. I didn't see this breakup coming because just the week prior, we were talking about our future and how much we loved each other. I'm still dealing with the pain and don't want to project that on to anyone else

Naomi I feel your pain because I just got out of a bad relationship we would have got it for 3 years okay and she went back with her next husband from 20 years ago moved in with him 3 weeks later and then 3 weeks later they got engaged okay they were in contact while we were together and she's lying to me saying that they were in contact when we broke up it's okay what she do flick the switch and there he popped up what a liar I'm so glad I dumped her like trash I'm so glad she's out of my life she is a POS my heart goes out to you

If you broke up, I wouldn't worry about when they move on. 5 minutes later, never at all, it is totally up to them. When you move on, move on and leave that relationship behind you. Don't go back to your ex, move on into the future.

Moving on can be difficult. I can agree that there should be a “cooling off” period if the relationship was significant. If someone is involved with another person in a matter of days (or a couple of weeks), they weren’t that into you. Take time to reflect and evaluate the person you are at that moment and the person you aspire to be.

I really don’t think there has to be down time before someone gets into another relationship after a breakup. If you’re really intuitive about what didn’t work in the relationship, then you don’t have to think about it. That breakup to makeup thing is an indecisive game to me. Communication is the key. I’ve thanked God for the insight to realize when a relationship isn’t working. So, if this one wasn’t for me, I know there is one for me and I’m moving on.

I agree too. I was miserable for the majority of my 8 year relationship. I had to go through therapy and really work on myself the past few years. I moved on and people tell me it is too fast. I hate it 😓 only if they knew we talked about separating and slept in separate rooms for 2 years.

I went through this with my ex. We did rekindle our bond, but unfortunately broke up again because of something else. Point is, always be honest with yourself and don’t waste no one’s time. It can backfire on you.

Here’s my two cents: 1) I’ve caught my exes trying to move on right after the breakup, that stung at the time, you feel disposable. 2) My last relationship was emotionally abusive where my ex ghosted me before we broke-up. I was grieving the relationship and after we broke up, I only cried for 24 hours and then I felt free. My ex reached out to check-in 3 days later 🙄 and I told him nicely to fuck off. Because I wasn’t heartbroken after the breakup, I knew I was ready to move forward. I quit my last job, found a new job, focused on school, and reconnected with friends. I was single for 3 months, and I got lucky when I met my now boyfriend, the only guy I dated going into the dating scene.

Agreed! Taking time to heal and/or for self-reflection is a must. In my experience, people who jump into another relationship while in one or immediately after one are usually afraid to be alone. This could be caused by past trauma or social expectations. At the end of the day, we have to normalize being intentional about how we are in relationship with self and then other.

That’s what I’m going through our 5 year Marriage. I gave my partner some space and time for we each can better ourselves for one another. When I do try to text and rekindle things she pushes me away and goes ghost only to find her with another guy posting on social media while still married to me. I was in complete shock. I never would think something like this. My loyalty and trust had me so blind. It’s really hard to trust someone again after they left you in a drop of a pencil.

Intuition. Listen to it. What you felt, was correct young Brother. There may be a time, somewhere down the road, where YOU will be ready, and the lady won't, and then you may find yourself alone again. But it's best to be alone, and be patient, than to rush into something, and regret it later. Nothing wrong with being alone, while you figure life out. Alone does not equal lonely. You are spot on. One needs time to process things.

Well I found out my ex whose child I was pregnant with was seeing other women and jumped in a relationship a week later. And told me that he didn’t want a relationship when I was 4 months pregnant. But the woman he was with a week later he has married her. But he did tell me that he married her to move on because before her I found out he was still playing some game with an ex. My girl and I was together 6 years. She became cold, distant, never wanted to be bothered. Valentine’s Day she was expecting i ring but I didn’t feel like timing was right because of how distant she became. Its Funny how i found this video and i am going through something similar. Sometimes it has to depend on the situation first. My intuition never got me wrong I spent my 4 yrs doing the wrong things and decisions in life just to have a complete family , even if it's hard to stay when it's mentally/ verbally/ and most esp. physically abusive. Turns out that I had to sent him in jail. We were bestfriends for 7 yrs and a couple for 4 yrs never could imagine that he has too be the one that had let me felt how devestating it was. I moved on for a month. I think I don't have to overthink why it doesn't work for both of us. I am happy, free and even contented with my daughter right now

Her " Clock " was supposedly ticking and had a goal of being married with kids at a certain time; and since you weren't down with her plan and timeframe she jumped to the next man. No guarantee that's gonna work for her, but you stood your ground and were true to yourself. We all would probably be better off taking the time to heal yourself or access what went wrong in order to not make the same mistake next time. Hello Corey. In 1995 I dated a girl named Sarah Jones in the 9th grade in high school. After the school year we broke up. I was going to a different school. I made my decision not to date again. I also will not marry or have kids. I work, I am CEO of Eugene K. Lynch Productions, a storybook entertainment company I founded in 1995. I take martial arts so I can get a black belt in karate and Taekwondo, and I am training to be the next drummer, banjo player, and worship leader for my church. I was with a guy for 3 years & I moved out on my own because it wasn't working. A few month later we decided to try to make things work & we decided to be back together. Later in August of last year I realised things still couldnt be fixed so I broke it off, 4 months later I go on social media & he is married to another young lady. Even though Ik I didn't want to be in a relationship with him anymore, it kind of made me feel some type of way. I feel he might have been taking to her while we were working on thongs. At the same Ik what type of guy he is, he doesn't like to be alone with his self to process emotions & actions which is why I had to let the connection go. I'm glad I actually took that time to heal though, it really does make a diffence. Everyone takes things different so the amount of time before entering another relationship might differ but 4 months and married is steep.

That is just immature. No, after a breakup, you need a time to process all the emotions and reassess. And, like Corey said, you both might be thinking about getting back together. I was in no contact even before the breakup. 4 months later she is engaged. I am sure the dude is one of the orbiters. Even if she checked out before the relationship ended, no person can just shut her emotions and feelings like that. She is still in contact with my family members and checking there profile. For me I removed everything and become a ghost. One of my family members advised to get a new girlfriend. My answer was no. Naturally, your instinct would be hell yeah, but my conscious was no, you need to process this and decompress before hurting someone else. One of the KZbinrs just labeled this situation as “EXTREME REBOUND”. And this never finish well. However, I wish her well.

To be honest last breakup I had was bit rough. It lasted up to 1 or 2 months. Thing is I feel like I wasn't in relationship because her friends don't seem trust me much be around her even tho a year ago my ex made first move on me and I didn't gave her a chance till February. And we broke up because I was cutting her off social media for two days. And she said okay we should work things out. I've been waited and never happened. So I disappeared. In June her friend was like saying I should check on her since I was waited for quiet some time and that my ex was searching me. Thing is her friend was like scapegoat me saying " You never know what she feels " like bruh I can smell jealousy from a far. Then my ex seemed happy when we talked again. Which I was also happy. But things went bit heated up ( like we had s*xting ). I disappeared cause I needed time myself especially when my grandma passed away. and she seem bothered by it. Then we argued over it. I told her we shouldn't do that at this point and we both fixed it. Then boom she jumped right in and has new relationship. I feel like her new lover is just rebound. I'm disappearing from her for good. I need focus on myself.

What if it's already been on and off and your already exhausted and learned from the mind games? So the final time, you make it clear you're done for good. But they still don't take you seriously and they never did before. So I had a first date with someone new recently. It was a great night. We didn't hook up, just spent time with each other hanging out at a bar. But my ex showed up and almost lost his mind. Cursing under his breath insults at me and shit. I understood his anger cause we broke up the final time only a little more then a week before I decided to meet up with this new guy. I started talking to right after the final break up. But before new guy, ex and I we're breaking up a lot like it got to the point where it was almost every other week. So like I felt guilty at first. But with the way he acted towards me during the relationship. I don't actually feel guilty at all. I already did my best to be patient and understanding. For some reason he couldn't do the same for me.
