Guru Arjan did not threaten the ruler, he was probably executed because of misinformation by the ruler's advisors. Guru Tegh Bahadur, the 9th Guru gave his life protecting the freedom of conscience and religion of the Kashmiri Pandits, who were forcefully being converted into Islam. Both Guru gave their lives for freedom.

According to the book, Tarikh-e-Islam, Gangu Brahmin, who was trusted by Guru Gobind Singh, took Mata Gujri ji & her two sons deceiving them to Wazir Khan. Aurangzeb had no information of Wazir Khan capturing them. When he came to know about it, he ordered to leave them. But by the time the command was heard by Wazir Khan, the damage was already done. The arms were taken against injustice to start with. Secondly, sikhs never fought for showing power, women or to convert people. Land was captured to stop the brutality of the mughal emperors and the invaders. SIKHS never sold the MUSLIM women or made them slaves. They were treated with utmost respect and honour even after the mughal estates were brought down by sikh warriors.

Wrong during the time of Ranjit Singh, Muslim women were captured and enslaved. Many were sold to Hira Mandi in Lahore. Firstly, If Mughals wanted to forcefully convert Sikhs, none would be left by now. 1000s of Sikhs today are evidence that Mughals did not forcefully convert Sikh community rather assisted them in surviving and growing as a new religious group. Secondly, Sikh gurus and Mughals had very good relation for a long time. Yes there were times of battles, however that doesn’t indicate religious difference rather political opponence Lastly, Sikhs being great warriors has got nothing to do with fighting for country, these are two different elements. A lot of good points but you're way off on the political vs religious aspect. Mughal rulers were raiding India, killing the men and raping and kidnapping women and children forcing them to convert to spread Islam across all of India. Babies were dismembered, father's were tortured until either they died or families converted. Sikhism was born to fight off this brutality by the Mughals. Guru Hargobind took up arms after his father was executed for following a different religion and preaching that religion. It was a different world at the time and politics and religion went hand in hand, they were essentially one in the same. A country's laws were defined almost entirely by the religion in power. Some good points in this video, but it was absolutely because of religion. Hindus and Sikhs were targeted by unprovoked Mughal raiders, you either converted or were executed, that's why Sikhs took up arms and eventually over threw the Mughals.

There is no doubt why Guru sahib ji were killed . Jahangir writes in that , on the banks of the river Bias live a Hindu named Arjan and people call him Guru I wanted to convert him into Islam or finish him and his movement. Guru Arjan Dev ji refused to convert and was killed. Guru Teg bahadur ji was killed because he stood up to the evil Aurenjab because he was forcefully convert Hindus and destroyed temples. Guru Gobind singh ji write in his bani that my father gave his life to protect tilak and janju. There is no doubt they were killed because they refused to convert. I would like to say Sikhs are everywhere and Hinduism is still here but where are the mugals. There are temples in memories of Guru Arjan Dev ji and Guru Teg bahadur ji everywhere visited by thousands of people everyday but nobody visits the graves of Jahagir and Aurenjab except some Muslims who still see them as their heroes just like some Nazis still see Hitler as their hero. During Emperor Aurangzeb's sharia rule Mughal India surpassed Qing China by becoming the world's largest economy, worth 25% of global gdp and waved the Proto-industrialisation. Inside the fort, Sikhs found the wife and kids of Wazir Khan. They were at complete mercy of sikhs and they could have been killed by sikhs and it could be justified that they were the family of Wazir khan, the man who killed sons of their Guru. But, they were left unharmed. In fact they were transported safely to a place of their choice.

Guru Arjan had started conducting his own darbar in the Mughal empire. Which was not taken lightly by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Also, Guru Arjan supported Emperor Jahangir's son, Prince Khusruo, in his quest to topple his father, Emperor Jahangir, so Guru Arjan and Prince Khusruo were captured and tortured by Emperor Jahangir. Later Guru Arjan Singh went missing when the Mughals allowed him to take a bath in river Ravi (some say he was made to drown in the river but no one knows for certain how he was killed or went missing. His remains were never found). Prince Khusrou was blinded and executed at the age of 34. (note: Prince Khusrou was Emperor Jahangir's own son). This incident was in contrast to Emperor Jahangirs tolerant attitude towards Hindus and Christians. Until this incident, he was known to be a tolerant ruler, and even after this incident he was tolerant towards Hindus and Christians but Sikhs were not happy with his rule and started an armed struggle against the Mughal empire which continued through the Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir's reign until Delhi fell to British. It was a 100% political incident rather than a religious one. Those who say Emperor Jahangir asked Guru Arjan to convert to Islam or remove the verses from Sikh's sacred book which he thought were against Islamic teaching, are lying. This incident happened in the medieval period and there was no democracy or human rights group back then and it was common for rulers in those times to eliminate their opponents by brute force.

In any Sovereign Governance (wether religious or secular) if treason occurs, Rule of Capital Punishment is applied Which is “penalty by death”. So if their gurus were planning to or attempted to over Threw the “Sovereign Government” of that time (I.e. Moghal Empire) then they have to bear the consequences of their actions. It does not automatically implies that the “sovereign ruler” is directly to be blamed, since the Judgment comes from the High Court not from the Ruling authority. What you fail to mention Sir is the following background: The Mughal overlords of Bharat (India) came to Bharat uninvited. Missed out a lot of facts here... it is not purely political, against the rulers of the time. The Mughal rulers were highly oppressive and many, such as Aurangzeb, wanted to convert native Hindus and Siks. Especially in the case of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, where he wanted to convert and kill all Brahmins, and the Guru said if he could convert him, then all the Brahmins would convert. This is theological, not just political. Would be appreciated if you included the religious underpinnings of the political rulers to contextualise history. Thanks.

Mughals killed guru arjun because they thought that arjun dev is hindu saint and leader of rising kufr in punjab. He was saying to mulims like " forget about kaba & hajj, pray to god in your hearts" and many more ref- SGGS P1082 &1083. And mostly hindus were disciple of gur arjun with small fraction of muslims. Jahangir thought if this not be stopped, then many muslims will leave sunnat and will opt for liberal indianised way of islam and many hindus were also stopped themselves from converting into muslims because sikh gurus were teaching the orginal philosophies of vedas, bhagwat geeta, vaishnav purans, & vedanta. This revived hindu philosophy in punjab region which was recently shadowed away by govt. Sponsered sufism. Therefore islamists executed the guru.
