This is so incredible. THIS is the battlefield. Plain and simple. They want our children gone. Literally. We are a huge problem for our current rulers, though the panel discussion will deny this, it is overwhelmingly true, and sadly this ruling class has wanted us gone for thousands of years. Excellent talk. Paul Gottfried's "Multiculturalism and the Politics of Guilt" was a real eye opener. He does a great job showing how the protestant church was co-opted in order to bring about the "managerial therapeutic state" that Wolfe has described succinctly. It's good to hear Dr. Gottfried being cited more and more.

I believe the Melting Pot term for mass immigration to the United States was coined by a British Jew, named Israel Zangwill, whose parents were Russian Jewish immigrants to Britain. He wrote a play by that name in 1908, which impacted Teddy Roosevelt in 1909 such that he wrote to Zangwill stating that he considered it one of the "very strong and real influences upon my thought and my life." He was not, so far as I know, a resident of NY. There were earlier, close approximations of the term, but this is, I believe, the source of the phrase as is used today.

Ulster Scot here (JD Vance is my people), just to point out that while there’s things I love about my people, we’re just a huge mess, and I’m pretty sure we bring about as much baggage to the American cultural landscape as any non-European group ever has 😂

We were (kind of still are) wild, semi-tribal white English people, not fully Christianized, who have assimilated quite a bit with the English and the Germans, which has somewhat mitigated our cray-cray 😂. People groups change and meld throughout history. Yes, it’s fraught, and we’ve got to be aware of that and be cautious, but it would not be a bad thing (in the abstract) if future Americans are all light brown (or whatever hue), as long as we are good, God-fearing people (we agree on that).

I've been aware of these facts for 20 years but I've never seen a more deft explanation of the core issues. The 'ingroup as outgroup' description is both new to me and an impressive shorthand for a key concept. Truly excellent work, it's a great joy to see these things being spoken of with increasing frequency. If had one criticism it's that the end part of the speech where Clarence Thomas is referenced needs to be more explicit.

@@christopherlees1134 It is true that American Renaissance emphasizes race over Christianity, but occasionally they promote Christianity as part of the West. My view is that race and Christianity are both important. Here is an example why... 69% of Black evangelical Christians voted for Biden. 73% of white evangelical Christians voted for Trump. 19% of Black evangelical Christians voted for Trump. 18% of white evangelical Christians voted for Biden. Their voting patterns were 180 degrees opposite. The difference was race, not Christianity.

Great talk! I am a European married to an American living in the US. My people are God’s people but culture and upbringing matters. God brought us together, yet there are challenges that couples from similar background don’t face even though we have A LOT in common, starting with Christ, theology, politics and worldview. No one can tell me that throwing a bunch of people from all over with nothing essential in common in a shared space can lead to functioning, harmonious and thriving society. Also, I am very grateful that the tendencies of Roman Catholics to welfare state were mentioned. It’s the Protestant foundation that’s essential to America. We pray for Mr. Wolfe and his family regularly.

Christianity does not teach "WASP Culture". Despite the benefits of Greek and Roman civilization. It's important to note that Jesus and his disciples were Mideast Judeans whose nation historically underwent persecution by Greek and Roman (European) civilizations. Jesus was nailed to a Roman cross by a Roman procurator. The disciples and apostles preached to ALL NATIONS in the Great Commission. Paul proclaims, there is neither Greek nor Jew, but all are one in Jesus Christ. You can make an argument against Islamic society or against criminal ELEMENTS of some societies, INCLUDING WASP society. But you can't rightly use Christianity to argue for WASP culture against Christian Arabs, Christian Mexicans per se. Peace.
