I agree with you 100%. I hate Artificially difficult levels, usually due to the fact the player doesn't know something is there but the level creator does. I made my challenging levels with just challenge instead of stupid design choices like kaizo blocks or super hidden dev exits.

My favorite maps are the ones that are actually challenging, no time limit speedrun, no enemy spam, no bs hidden blocks. It would be so good to have those. The P block one was great :)

Mario Maker isn't dead, just 100 man runs. There are lots of people who make good levels and many communities to join of groups that have events. I recommend watching CarlSagan42's videos/streams to find a lot of good Mario Maker content
