I have 20k miles on my 2015 1200s DVT. I don’t have the speed wobble issue. I take it to 130mph once a week at least. And that’s with the top case on the back. I have an issue where the engine cuts out and the orange lights flash on the color panel during high speed cornering. I narrowed it down to a wheelie control sensor issue, once it’s turned off the issue isn’t replicated. I hope this helps someone down the line!

Had the fuel line issue with my 2015 as well. Cause is a weakened fuel line connection on top of the left side of fuel tank. This plastic connector becomes weak after a few removals and allows the black fuel line to pop out. I got fuel all over my helmet, jacket and bike at around 50 mph. A simple fix is to wrap a platic zip tie around this connect holding the 4 moving tabs in once connected. In addition mine bike also has head shake at high speeds. Solution was steering damper. Fuel sender has been replaced 3X. Current version is "G". Clutch slave went at around 11k miles. Solutions was to replace with Oberon unit.

I got a super clean 2010 with 19k miles for 7600. I love it. It's the S model. I also experienced a little bit of a front end shutter but it was me. The more I get used to the bike the more relaxed I am on it. Loose grip, relaxed arms and no more shutter in the front end. Maybe the new gt road 6 tires had something to do with it but I can push that bike on the straights and it's butter smooth. It handles like a liter bike in the turns. Maybe even better because you have more clearance before you start scraping. I went into a turn going a little too fast. Wasn't about to panic break or do a hard downshift. That would have wiped me out for sure. Instead I eased off the throttle, increased my lean angle got back on the throttle and holy shit! 😳 That bike is more capable than most riders. I can't believe I pulled it. If I was on a different bike I probably would have washed out. I was in the right gear. I noticed that bike needs to be around 5 to 7k RPM for smooth performance. Anything more your playing with fire unless your on a track. Anything less your coasting. Not good. 5k might even be a little low but I've only had the bike for 3 weeks. 1200cc ducati... yea. I think I'm going to be playing in third gear for a while. Anything more your going to be doing 100+ mph in the 25 and 35 mph turns I'm running. I wouldn't push one of the newer ones in the turns like I'm doing with mine. I don't trust those bigger spoked wheels. Not sure why ducati felt the need to make the changes. 19" spoke wheel or not. It will never be an off-road bike like the mid sized tiger, gs or the KTM. It's perfectly fine with me. Full sized adventures bikes are massive and really expensive bests. Ripping up the offroad like a dirt bike is something I would advise against unless your 6'2" and were born on a bike. I was pretty much born on a bike but I'm only 5'8". Everything in the universe told me to stay away from that bike but I was drawn to it. 2 weeks of dancing around it. 2 test drives. Took it to the ducati dealer and they warned me... they said the bike looks new and doesn't have any problems. All the recall and warranty work were done. They warned me none the less. I couldn't get away from it. I had to have it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6uQaXaJlp6roJo

The broblem stability can be fixed with second passenger, or remove the top case. It is like a sale and it make your frond wheel be a little happy. Try it.

Unfortunately, even with all the bags removed it has the same issue, it's more of a geometry issue. Ducati made a bike that handles phenomenally at low speeds compared to many of the other bikes which as a side effect takes away from its high speed stability. Not at all unridable, just something I'm less than fond of

It wasn't that my 2015 inherently wobbled on it's own, it just required very little handlebar input to get the front end to start shaking. Try the V4!

Geometry can be changed.... raise or lower the front, raise or lower the rear. Also preload and or different spring rates in the forks and shock can have an effect. I do know exactly what your referring too as im having this issue with my new to me 15'. If i remember too, ill report back what adjustments i made that solved or made the issue more manageable.

Hi again, 4K! Agree with your comments about high speed stability and the panniers. I found that cruising above 160 km/h (german autobahn) was unbearable, lots of instability but also probably made worse by passing trucks all the time. I am not sure, but I think the panniers also contribute to this (in addition to the wheelbase, that was lengthened on the 1260). The panniers on the V4s are now flexing laterally, which should presumeably help. I tested the V4s in Norway so did not get the chance to cruise at 200 km/h so still curious to find out (BTW signed the contract for one today....) The mounting system for the panniers on the 1200s was a bit flimsy in my opinion, but as you say, keeping it clean makes a big difference (I also used some WD-40). The V4S has a different mounting system that looks more rugged. Let's hope it is true!

That geometry change is probably on par with what Ducati did with the 1260 Multi. Definitely smoothed out the ride at speed. The Bluetooth experience is far superior on the V4 Multi

The 1260 has no steering wobble issues... longer swing-arm..48mm...and 5 degree more trail. The bike is 56mm longer.

Correct, it's noticeably different when riding them back to back. The new V4 handles very much like the 1260

Tall bike! It was a little too big for me to feel comfortable on, but the larger tank and larger front wheel will fix some of the small complaints I had with the regular multi. If you can find a good price, I say go for it, but make sure you ride the regular 1200 s as well... And the new V4 for that matter

I bought a 2016 Multistrada 1200S last year and then sold it after 7 months, just too many issues with it and was due for a $2000 Desmo service. Just a pity a Japanese manufacturer couldn’t make that bike because then I would have kept it forever as it was an awesome bike but I would never buy another Ducati.
