Why my lawn care business will be using only gravely mower!

We were so impressed with the quality of the ZT HD 52 and the other mowers we checked out at our local dealer that gravely seems to be the best choice for our business!

My friend had a new Cub Cadet mower for one season and sold it to buy a Gravely with 60 inch deck, he loves it. I just bought an Ariens 52 inch Icon and love it also. The only thing I don't like is dealing with Ariens parts & accessories people I have never had to deal with people that new nothing about their products. Thank God I got all the accessories I wanted and now ready to rock & roll.

I too have a lawn care business in NC and I stopped by Johnny Shuberts specifically to buy a Gravely mower in cash that day!! I had been really impressed with Gravely for the money vs other brands. After Johnny himself greeting me after twenty minutes of standing there by myself and telling me he would be right with me, I got to wait another twenty five minutes watching him talk to his friends in the driveway. So needless to say I drove off mad as could be for the waste of gas and time. Ended up buying a toro grandstand from Killians the next day and ever since have never received anything but phenomenal customer service. I’m sure Gravely is a great mower but Johnny D cost himself a sale that day and many sales in years to come. If you run into any issues there is a new Gravely dealer in statesville off of turnersburg hwy. I don’t know them but there’s another option if you need it. Great video!!!

Thats a badass mower for $3500 holy smokes. I have run a 2018 gravely 44” since I started my business in 2018. It’s the one piece of equipment I started with that I still use. I’m approaching 850 hours on it and it’s in perfect condition. New back tires, never flat front tires and some random parts and necessary fluids replaced. I cut 104 yards by myself, every week and it’s been 75+ since 2019. I use the gravely on about 65 of them(weedeater on small yards) and it’s never broke down on me. I take it to the lawn equipment store, once a week, and they do whatever is necessary to keep it in pristine condition. 95% of the time they’re just sharpening the blades and cleaning it. You got yourself a good one right there. A lot of guys hate on gravely’s but I’ll tell you what, it’s gonna be TOUGH for me to ever switch.

Nice, same motor I had on a new 50” cub cadet I had a few years ago, solid motor. My neighbors hated it tho cause they said it’s stupid loud if she’s wide open

We ran Gravely for over 30 years. Rock solid built machines with one major problem for us. On thick lush northern turf they would clump if it was the slightest bit damp and they would windrow grass in dry but lush weekly mowing conditions. Both requiring a double cut to clean up. 2 460's, 1 160, 34Z, 36G walk behind, Pro50 walk behind. Switched to a Tiger cat II with 61 valocity + deck and were immediately blown away. Cut our rout time almost in half each day because we didnt have to double cut ANYTHING. No clumps, no windrows of grass laying on top because it fans the grass out so much better with the massive deck discharge. Gravely probably does much better on southern turf I would imagine.

The new X factor three deck is absolutely amazing. It fans out beautifully. We don’t have any issues with clumping. I only do a double pass to make the stripes brighter. Other than that this thing is absolutely awesome. Their decks have come a long way.

Hello from an extremely satisfied Gravely owner. I'm located in NC too, 22 miles east of Ft. Bragg. I have run gravely for 17 years now. My latest mower is a 2020 proturn 452. There is nothing I don't like about Gravely mowers. One thing you said, if I may, respectfully correct you on. Although Ariensco owns the right to sell gravely, they bought those rights from the Gravely family, but did not design them. A word of warning....DO NOT waste your money on an Ariens anything. They ARE NOT built to Gravely standards and are basically junk. I speak from experience as I have one sitting in my shop right now. Check out all my videos on it. It's an Ariens Ikon elite. I WILL.NEVER buy another one. I have subscribed to your channel. Maybe we can collaborate sometime about doing lawn care in the south. Great video.

We appreciate the heads up our business only uses Ferris or gravely equipment. We’ve had nothing but luck out of them, and they’re cut quality is honestly next to none.

I had a Bad Boy Maverick (residential), I bought a 22' Gravely Pro Turn 60 (entry level commercial). I regret not getting another Bad Boy. Cut quality is terrible, and I've had 2 solenoids go out on the gravely in less than 80hrs. I will definitely be going back to Bad Boy.

I own a Florida lawncare business 14 years. I have 3 hdzt 48s and pro turn. When you need new tires go with oversized Carlisle turf tire. Make sure your blades are balanced.

@@barbershop7277 subtle. The pro turn has suspension seat. It sits higher, has commercial air cleaner and although the engine is the same size it runs hotter and burns more fuel. Cutting power is a little bit better.

I have a Graverly and an Ariens self propelled with the zero turn wheels at the front, best walk behind mower i swear they are so easy to throw around while being a heavy peace of equiptment i love em

Awesome review! I got the ZT HD 52” Stealth Edition back in July. For some of the reasons you covered and I haven’t looked back. Matter of fact I just sold my other mower to make room for my future Stand on purchase next month.

About Gramley 260 commercial one 2013 used for $4000 first machine I bought commercially /tremendously excellent mower /Fun fact I also try other brands. / exmark it’s overhyped / I do love Ferris /also like Redmax and Husqvarna

I don’t like ex marks cut quality but a gravely cuts nice until the blades get dull. I have had my gravely 60 in for 10 years. I have 3 acres plus my neighbors 2 acres I would replace this 1 with another gravely they are built solid. I only had to replace hydronic hoses and belts have changed blades 3 times in 10 years. Not bad. Battery has been replaced once.

The problem is the x factor 2 deck. Using a 160 now going to the 560 next year the new deck is just as good as scag/exmark imo

Gravely has definitely step their game up that’s for sure. If they’re smart, keeping their prices low on the ZT HD series for the fact that it gives you the same cut quality as some of the bigger brands, which makes it much easier to choose gravely

I currently just bought a 52 inch gravely HD zero turn and for some reason it’s leaking gas into the oil with only seven hours on the engine smokes like a freight train for the first five minutes after being started didn’t clears up oil level is where it supposed to be but reeks of gasoline taking it back to the dealer next week hopefully they on the warranty

They should that’s more of a Kawasaki issue that is a gravely quality issue though. We do have to remember as many of these engines, and Kawasaki has to put out every year. There are going to be a few lemons, even the best mess up sometimes..

First usually only assembly dealer does if any is istall rear wheels. I work in freight business and have seen alot. Second gravely compared to other brands like scag exmark and such from commercial standpoint are garbage. Learned from 13 years of experience with them. Cut quality is horrible, from discharge , eveness, missed lines, clumping. Ive had melted fuel filter and carb issues in first 2 hours of ownership. Cbt springs, misaligned belts, blowout. Pure overpriced junk. Anyone out there go with the better brands. You still be spending the difference on repairs if cheap out

It's AWEFUL!! Do NOT get this one! I got the 2023 Gravely ZT X 42 with bagger (not power bagger). The mower blows grass, leaves, debris all out of ALL sides of the mower including in front which goes RIGHT into your face and eyes! It's absolutely awful. I was advised to slow the mower engine/speed and that will fix it and it did NOTHING! The bagger is the 1st time Gravely did their own and it's AWFUL. The bags are WAY too behind the mower so if you're driving along side of a structure or fence, you can't just turn away from the structure normally b/c the bags are so far behind the mower, turning normally, the bags crash up against the structure. Literally the only good thing about the Gravely ZT 42 is the Kawasaki engine. I'm selling this mower despite having it for ONE season!!! I called the owner of the mower shop and he says I'm not turning the endgine/speed low enough but I've tried mowing slow and it doesn't change a thing. It's just awful

I can’t speak with the ZTX because it’s a completely different model than what’s in this video but I can definitely say the ZTHD is worth buying.

@@jeromehutchinson1961 Thanks. Is yours a 2023? I had an older ZT X 42 and it worked great. It had great "suction" with the bagger system, and leaves and things got sucked into the deck, vs this 2023 blowing stuff all everywhere. I bought the 2023 b/c my older one worked so good for many years so I was so very dissapointed to see how this 2023 was so bad. I sold it and got a new Cub Cadet with Kawasaki engine and it works so much better, and as it should.. what a bummer it was but all set now.
