My ex was like this. I met him at church. We went to a "mega-church", there were thousands of people there and so they had LOT of activities to be involved in. The whole time we dated, we were doing church activities and fellowships. It was a lot of fun. But when we got married, we didn't stay home together more, but we kept up our busy schedule: teaching classes, being in music ministries, Bible studies, etc. My ex was at the forefront of these: doing the teaching, playing the guitar, facilitating the fellowships. When we had kids, I stayed home, and he was at church EVERY night of the week, and Saturdays. I would say, "please stay home with me at least ONE night a week. He literally said, "I am not going to promise you one night a week, because something important might come up". I could not explain or complain to anyone because they saw him as a "spiritual giant" because he was at church "giving" all them time. They saw me as a "backsliding, complaining, un-submissive wife" because I was not as involved as he was. Now I understand that his SUPPLY was all the adulations and attention that he got from church. He was always on stage playing the guitar. Always in front of the small group doing the teaching. Always entertaining everyone with witty sayings and verses. That's the person that I fell in love with: the mask he wore while "performing" at church. At home, he ignored me, bossed me around, and complained. No one believed me that he was a different person at home.

The narcissists in the crowds are extremely jealous, and wish they could also be part of the main act. So between the admirers and envious, I'd rather just not participate in such covetous activities at all.😅

My next door "neighbor," is like that. I live at a senior citizen complex, & these walls are paper thin. He doesn't merely klunk the cabinets, he SLAMS them all the time; & it's Not bcz he's a happy go lucky guy. Sometimes my kitchen wall vibrates. HE needs a counselor so he can fix his anger issues! Don't drive everyone else crazy. 🙄 But narcs drive everyone else nuts, until They go to a shrink for meds. They're the ones who need the anti anxiety drugs, not me !!! 💗💗💗❤

@edgreen8140

They can't introspect. Tgey use Primitive denial and delusional amnesia to try to say to themselves "I am a good person". They live off the adoration or hate or others [ sense of control]. Action discharge mode of functioning; performative actions. Impulsive for sure+ envy of what others have ( be it traits or material goods that others have- they think that should be mine. They have 2 boxes with me and against me ( a paranoid perspective- they won't tell you, you are the enemy. If you are nice and respectful it's a narc injury how dare you pretend to be nice. Alexithymia inability to understand their feelings and your feelings. Hell they don't know who had they feeling. Yet they will tell you they are great at reading people. Written by a psychologist who was fooled years ago by a vulnerable ( covert) narc w antisocial features. If they are not physically aggressive try to distance yourself emotionally from them. 2 methods deep from Dr. Romani and Observe don't absorb by Ross Rosenberg,m.ed on you tube. @stephaniemcclesky Thanks for your post! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Well, at least you were invited to parties! We were so isolated we had no friends. And what was worse is that I was sick all the time. I was always picking up some thing from the kids or just sick in general because the narcissism is what was killing me. Literally I was sick all the time. Fast forward to when I was able to divorce him and I wasn’t sick ever again like maybe catch a mild cold once a year or something like that. And all the weight that I had held onto back, then I lost 70 pounds and I was able to get back to myself. But it all came off. It all stopped and ended after I was away from that toxic environment.

@Jesuschild I don’t feel sorry for them anymore. Zero sympathy. They are not real humans! I truly believe that they are hybrids mixed with some sort of alien because they don’t have souls. They don’t have a self. I’ve been doing some underground Resurgeons a lot of information is pointing to this very thing. Haven’t you noticed how exponential the growth has been with narcissism lately? All of our heads of state or narcissists the people that are running the show all over the world they’re all narcissist. We live in a narcissistic world. And we have now become the minority! I don’t feel sorry for them anymore. They tried to destroy my very existence, they slandered my name, they gaslit me, they were being insidious with their predatory strategies towards me even when I was continue to love and forgive them over and over again. He took my money, my passion for life, my ENERGY/ ESSENCE!!! He even stole food from the fridge when he left!! They were not loyal to me when I was loyal to them. I was the one who ended up an emotional, rock-bottom, not them. I was the one who had to ~ along with the help of my Lord Jesus, help get me off the floor from that fetal position! Do I feel sorry for them? Absolutely not!!! They should all be SHOT & put OUT of their misery and OUT of SOCIETY!!!! RIP 🪦 💥🕳️🐇

@anneroarity I’m so sorry that happened to you. Thank you so much for sharing! I’m glad that you were able to get out. I came to find out that my ex narc hired a team of black magic individuals… Three of them were part of a coven, one was a hacker, and the other one was a warlock, and he paid the money to take me out and to stop me from having any type of love or success in any area of my life. People need to wake up to this because they get so desperate. They will do these things. He put love spells on me and maybe that’s why I was open to him those times I don’t know. But he got to the point where he didn’t want to pay them because their work did not Work on me. They said that it wasn’t their fault because I had too much divine protection on me. So he still owes them a bunch of money and they’re really upset with him and a lot of it has backfired on him as well. It’s important that us in recovery that we are in tune to our spiritual side, making sure that we’re taking our spiritual salt baths, that we are listening to frequency 432 MHz, they were listening to the healing bowls it’s important for our souls to be healed in the process. It needs to be a daily thing. This is really helped me. Namaste.

Narcissist's: - constantly on the go with everything because they are literally trying to escape themselves - have addictions (gaming, sex, junk food, partying, superstitions, seeking adrenaline or posing it as 'adventures') - can't stand peace and quiet - will blame others for every inconvenience - will use any mistake you make against you for revenge - terrible financial planning - distorted reality and reduced memory skills - seeks luxury life and wants it handed to them without much effort on their part - can't accept other people's opinions and will get aggressive if you prove them wrong - no long term commitments (work, relationships) - short temper and aggressive - odd rants that go on and on - their face changes and it looks like they aren't physically and mentally present. Eyes look dark and blank - feel inferior and will therefore externally show that they are superior to reassure themselves that they are better than others - deep self-esteem issues (may have body dysmorphia) - very fearful and doubtful (doesn't trust ANYONE). - perhaps at their core they want to feel love and all that good stuff (my wishful thinking), but very quickly all the other ugly traits they have take over. In a way I feel pity for these individuals, and hope they can heal and find peace. They will go through precious life and will never ever be truly happy, content and satisfied with their relationships. My ex-husband (very short marriage period) is an abusive narcissist. I thank God everyday for not having kids with him. I am still young and can at least move on and find another individual without worrying about children.

Ugh- yes, so true! He'd wake up and call me, expecting to be on the phone with me until he found something to do. He'd get angry when I wasn't interested in going out every night, and he would come to my house (often unannounced) whenever he didn't have anything to do. And once home, he'd call me at all hours of the night (2am, 3am). I later discovered he had a collection of dysfunctional, older, unattractive women who were grateful for his attention, would fawn over him and were thrilled to get the opportunity to go out with a man. The fact that I had none of those "qualities" and didn't conform meant I was a prize he needed to destroy.

Narcissist's usually hate being home alone because there is no one there to play their mind games on. You have validated me! You finally gave me the information i was looking for. NOW i understand why he has to be the comedian in a crowd. NOW i understand why he's had two sets of kids but failed at both. NOW i understand his deep seated addiction to pornography: he needs a new 8x10 glossy, not a real relationship, he can't handle a real relationship. NOW i understand why he is on his phone playing Word games constantly, AND he plays chess on the TV at the same time holding the phone! (he's retired). He's totally empty inside: I've known that basic fact for 47 years. No changing. Doesn't please others either. Not capable. I'm not mad anymore. It's taken me years to get to my "pink place of peace" of which he is jealous. Out of the blue, he said one time "you used to listen to me when we were 1st married." Yep, sure did, but 10 years in I realized he is just a hollow man, of no substance, therefore, haven't listened to him in the last 37 years. I wouldn't believe a word he says even if his tongue were notarized! He has a big capital "L" on his forehead, written backwards, so every time he looks in the mirror, he'll be able to comprehend what it means! Have I wasted my life?? Nope. Have learned and grown so much, and there's still enough time to enjoy life, enjoy others, and maybe.......even a #3, but of course, I will be educated enough to make a wiser choice.....or maybe no choice at all, just love the time I have; I've always been my best friend, comfortable in my own skin, and I have plenty of friends who are lovely people.......Thanks for the validation, Mr. Bashir!.....knowledge truly is power, but accurate knowledge gives us power beyond what is ordinary!

It is possible for narcissists to improve or recover. People can improve if they have awareness of their condition and realize how it affects them and others and if they strongly want to improve. Self reflection and honesty is difficult and painful. The first step is awareness and admitting there is a problem. The next step is wanting to improve and working hard to improve; and realizing it is worth the effort. This takes patience and may take years. However, it can be done. Never give up. My life certainly improved when I became less narcissistic.

She destroyed my step son's high school graduation. She lost an insignificant item on the way there. She talked loudly the entire time. I told my husband to shut her up but all he did was get offended that I would suggest such a thing as that. If she goes to the hospital to visit someone she never talks to the person. All she does is frantically search her purse for the card that she had for the person. I highly doubt that she even had a card for them. She made sure that my husband's dad was too distracted to talk. The list goes on and on.

The child like ways of a narcissist is incredible how much they literally move like a child , tantrums, petty , competitive, they all ways have to have more then anyone . And if they don’t get there way 😮 , watch out because the storm is coming 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

I felt so hurt I was physically sick.

When humans are empty inside, they tend to hold on to an imaginary-world they create for themselves to be admired. That would be a Narcissist. There is not much that can be done with these individuals. People around them do not seem to notice, since they do not do what is commonly referred to as, a systematic observation.

Mine was an admitted sex maniac..before the internet it was alot harder to " charm". He said. He went after seeking long term women. He was a good liar, fake person, sexy too. The internet was a godsend. Easier than trolling live....After my devalued, bank account drained, I spent my last days with him growing more & more fearful realizing that this person I thought I loved wasnt really who this person was of front of me. He opened up his predator side, it was gross. Also, I was becoming a person I didnt want to be! He physically hurt me in a dangerous way, pretending it was an accident the last day I was there.

They do not like to be at home because they hate themselves and they get all the supply and a boost to their lack of self confidence outside 😢because outside for them is like a stage and they are the main character in this play so they think😮, being a partner to a narcissist is soo exhausting, because they are never at peace with themselves, everything is a constant chase and they need constant supply!!!

I had an old friend who was a covert narcissist and she had a lot of anxiety because of her narcissism, so she would actually like staying at home. She liked being at home and dragging people over to her place. Once there, she felt like she had full power over people on how they behave. She was living in a fantasy world where she was the main character and if you didn't play a supporting role, you were harshly discarded. Which is exactly what happened to me and my boyfriend. When my boyfriend didn't act on her advances [yes, she hit on him multiple times in front of me and her boyfriend] she gaslit the hell outta us and then discarded us. After 5 years she hoovered me and I never replied. It was a shitty apology that didn't even address what she did. Oh yeah, she was wasted when she discarded us. She had been drinking, popping Clonipin [anti anxiety meds that say right on the label Do Not Drink with this medication], and smoking weed. I do not miss that train wreck.

Well, that answers one of my questions about my narcissist sister. Ever since she started buying cars, she always had to have a new one. And she never held them very long. Her department at her job ended and I’m sure she could’ve taken something else but she didn’t. She would’ve been on phones. She left. She asked your husband do I have to work and he said no. So she stays home. When she wants. But most the time she’s out buying stuff and then she makes a big deal on returning everything. Banana republic told her they didn’t want her back in the store. She’s getting her car in hit all these different places and it was a big production and then it was a big production to return it all and ship everything back. That’s the sensations. She was so excited to find the Lago necklace and then she took it back. I asked her why did you do that? You just love that necklace. She said I guess it’s the money. That’s not it. It’s the money for everything. And then she told me that she bought it back again. Interesting. I did and I always wondered about that and she’s done that all her life.

Noticed fairly early on father in law, always on the go doing do gooding. One day he announced to me in front of his friends he would help me with a job I had to get done tomorrow. Everyone applauded his sincere kindness and generosity and I thanked him sort of in advance in front of his friends. Next day, he showed up, was as usual in a hurry, asked me what I needed done, then he scoffed at me saying "What that! That doesnt even need doing! ..... well Ive got to be somewhere and Im running late, so I ll be off then" He left, and left me wondering why he bothered to show up at all. Then, I thought perhaps he was deceiving his wife, and used his fake generosity of helping me, as an alibi, while he was doing something else he wanted hidden. He probably thought of himself as quite clever.

But then i realized, 1. i can sit still n HYPERfocus on stuff, it just has to be interesting to me. 2. Constantly craving knowledge and wanting to find that topic that will get me to hyperfocus. 3. Masking or pretending to like being social is actually super exhausting. I take long naps after a hangout. Not to mention we are extremely empathetic, and have the ability to introspect and self criticize. Bit too much at times if you ask me😅

Big vacations, expensive restaurants, almost anything to just be out of the house. He doesn’t participate in anything that is the care of the home- hates yardwork, and very very messy. He was never home. Got worse as time went on. Always on the go. Got bored easily and could never just relax and be present. He claimed he wanted to get away from ME? I spent a good portion of my life doing things alone. His hobbies, work and his friends. Rarely did I come first. Then his time was spent on the paramours. He had to work extra. Right? All I wanted was a partner to acknowledge me, the response was well I’m here now. Never addressed how much time he was gone or to change that and make it a priority. I’d beg to go on trips and when I did go he’d secretly be calling her. A no win. They cannot just be with themselves or still. Now the new wife does just what I did.. waited till he gets home. Isolated from her family. He just got a new toy.. one that wasn’t going to hold him accountable and was ok being number 2.
