@DipYourCar Honestly. I want more information on the autoflex. After seeing the one Audi you guys just threw paint powder all over it and then sealed it in with the auto flex. I prefer the factory finish look over the matte and satin finishes. Autoflex seems to be the only way for me to do DYC. I know you have to use a higher pressure like you would with regular paint and clears. Even using the same kind of guns for that. I don't have a problem with doing that and practicing with the autoflex until I am proficient with it. Would you make a talking head video about the autoflex and it's ins and outs for those of us who are adventurous and want to give it a go?

Another great vid. I think its spot on that a diy rubberized coating is never going to look like a factory paint job, 2 different animals. The work involved and price to do that work for a good paint job (cause like tats a good one aint cheap and a cheap one aint good) is out of most peoples means. Dip and more so DYC bridge that gap pretty well i think. Even if you could clear dip with 2k, i dont think it would come off without serious effort and cost, so it kinda defeats the purpous.

I painted my son’s Mitsubishi Lancer with the performance series sharkskin grey and then added a gallon of Glossy DipPearl Topcoat with 25 grams of hyper silver pearl. It turned out amazing. It took away the plain sharkskin color which looked like primer and gave it a glossy shine with a silver glow. I also added black stripes which the silver glossy clear lightened but really engaged the black outlay. Totally retained the Gloss and pealed easily. (Pealed it at the yard after my son totaled his car). Time for another DIP!

Thank you so much for your sincerity ! You are such a great human being ;) ! Stay humble ! I did Plasti dipped my car with a high gloss top coat few weeks ago ! (I did a mat black 6 coatings and then 3 coats of gloss on top), the result is « okay » but not perfect ! I mean it looks very beautiful specially when you re not to close to the car. And it is really really shiny, but when you are looking closer you can see orange peel almost everywhere... and my 6 coats of mat black was looking incredible, really smooth and uniform ! I knew that I wasn’t doing something wrong with the application of the gloss! It s just like that ! Dip is an amazing new technology that bring us the simplicity of changing our cars colors as much as we want ! But the best results are and will always be with mat and satin finishes ! ;) And that is not a bad thing !! Thank you for what you are doing for us all! Keep working on this miracle paint and doing your videos that help us all ! You are the best ! ;) 👌🏼💣

This is exactly what more people need to know when they are interested in going this route. I have told so many of the people interested in this, if you are expecting this to be high shine and look like the car came from the factory that way, it won't. The fact of the matter is that at the root of the product is a rubber texture and no matter how hard you try. Rubber in its nature can not be shiny for long periods of time without going the heavy duty industrial option, which then defeats the purpose of the product. Many of them then have to decide on either upgrading to autoflex, or if they need to look at real car paint or even vinyl wrap to get the gloss they want. High gloss is one the hardest things to produce in a peelable product. The nature of a gloss in any craft is to lock everything in and not move and when the product is meant to be peeled off and redone as many times as you want, locking it in is only going to create more work later. I personally prefer the matte and satin finishes because they show way less wear and tear than a gloss will over time.
@ahmadghosheh31045 жыл бұрын
Agree and love the chats, keep them coming. People need to think of PDS and some what Proline as Vinyl covering not OEM paint, it will never ever be glossy like a mirror. For that Find a pro Installer for Autoflex. I for one, have dipped many cars using Plastidip with top coat and without. I have never had issues because of the product, it's always me making mistakes and I am learning. I and my friends just want paint protection, color change and to have their car stand out. The OCD folks however, need to go Autoflex LOL

I did a pearl blue. Looked amazing when I layed down the matte. I put a gloss on top and I had runs, and cloudy areas. It was so hard to mix and spray as a first time user I wish I hadn't used it. I didn't mind having a matte finish but I wanted to protect the dip due to it being a daily driver, and the gloss coat is more durable and fuel resistant.
@Kamukix5 жыл бұрын
I figured this was the reason, and I applaud your approach about it. I do believe that an incredibly high percentage of the folks using the products don't have the right equipment or skill level to lay down a gloss that they would truly be happy with. I hope that people understand this and seek out the knowledge and practice to get on a level where they can do so though, it's definitely not cheap to do, but it's worth it if you gain a skill that can be used many many many times in the future. I know it's not the answer most people want to hear, but it's the honest truth and in the end it'll make them better. It's the same reason why Autoflex is not sold to just anyone, if you don't know what you're doing......man that can be a very very bad very very expensive day.

Amethyst base with HKS Purple, and a mild purple pearl gloss clear? I do agree with one of the ending statements, you see gloss all over; it is nice to see matte and satin finishes done well.

@Broadpaw_Fox5 жыл бұрын
They had this. Not sure if they're still there, but look for 'juices' on the site - they're translucent tints for the top coat gallons. For a video using them, find the 'worlds most purple car' or something like that. Purple tint with aggressive purple pearls. Was gorgeous, if a little loud. ;) But you should be able to mix the juices and make various tints to cover different base coats. Just a word of warning though based on this video - you might want to include some pearls in that tinted top coat to help make it lay down nice. What he's saying in this vid is that the top coat itself is finicky to spray correctly without the pearls in it - tends to orangepeel a lot. The pearls help to even it out.

Examples would probably help answer many of these questions.
