Dude , even with last season. I used to go sheen first buy. At that point you can completely fuck up the bot lane since they dont expect the spell spam with sheen procs dmg. From there finished frozen gauntlet then spirit visage into zekes. Its expensive , but hec you can solo any carry and were pretty unkillable:D

I used to go for Frozen heart instead, but the item feels really weak now. Taric was a niche pick last season, as he was only playable into dive comps and hard engage lanes: nautilus support and/or Samira/Tristana adc. Now with no good mana+tank hybrid items, you effectively have no sustain in poke lanes where you might as well let your adc sololane. Ive personally stopped playing Taric altogether, where last season I would often pick him support and occassionally jungle if I was duo with my midlaner, since he has insane synergy with melee carries.

Rightous glory was the perfect item for Taric in season 10. Giving Mana, armor, and move speed softened two major weaknesses and gave him armor, which he scales off. Not compensating Taric in season 11 for the item being removed was very surprising.

Riot is stupid AF at times I swear lol Funneling and "Double Mage Botlane" came at around the same time, but to Riot no adc bot in most games is perfectly okay, but support taric in jungle is not okay. So they nerfed the fuxk out of funneling, but left mage bots untouched for ages.

I play Taric often actually, but not as support. Taric jungle where you basically play him as weird Udyr is tons of fun. In the jungle your mana problems aren’t as bad as well too.

I always loved taric as a Support since Season 3 and even today, i love his kit as it is tbh, i just think about 1 real change it could have, either more items for mana and sturdiness so his build can let him be more consistent with his strong points, or add a small speed boost after casting his shield, like ahri and her w, being able to chase/reposition more easily without a dash, could be reaaaally good for that fabulous man. Also, the ult could has less cast time, based on taric and his linked team mate missing heal, that could really pay off for skilled players timing it on the right moment c:

The mana issue is major for a ton of champs, outside of mythics, there are only 3, yes 3, items that actually give mana. The 2 tear items, and frozen heart.

In toplane Corrupting Potion has become a requirement for any mana reliant tank. Riot should put mana back on Frostfire Gauntlet or create a new tank item built with Tear of the Goddess.

As a support main, I've never took time to learn Taric because he's never been oppressive when on the other team. I never understood why, even when facing someone who clearly knows how to play him. I really like your series. It helps to have this kind of insight without having to spend dozens of hours figuring out the "why".

As a Taric main , he has an amazing peel potential and enjoy playing him. Out of all the supports I play he is the only one I have with a 61% win rate however ,the mana costs are too much , so you are always on edge and his ult takes so much to a point you buy locket for the sole purpose to buy time before it activates

Kindred bot main, whenever I get a radical support I get really excited bc its not only our ultimates that have synergy. His stun and kindred q can really trip up opponents and with how aggressive kindred bot is any heals are great. It's always a gamble on whether the taric knows what they're doing and if we synergise well which makes sense bc it requires alot of communication to work perfectly

Before season 11 took away all the mana items it was still possible to run him top or jungle and beat people to death with his passive autos and iceborn gauntlet, but now there's no mana in the toplane item picks aside from frozen heart, it's really not the same.

It's good that you review champions based on how they're or would be performing in SoloQ, since most of the players/viewers are curious of how it performs in SoloQ, but I'm kinda in need to gather information on champions based on the team performance(5v5s, for tournaments or clash). Imo there is a big difference between champion performances and playstyles when it comes to SoloQ and 5v5 gameplay.

Ideas; Cosmic Radiance [R] can be recasted to activate invulnerability earlier, but at the cost of decreased duration. Every time ally with Bastion damages an enemy champion, Taric receives mana equal to allies bonus armor from Bastion. Or it could be only autoattacks. Or Bravado (passive) buffs allies autoattacks too, with bonus damage and restoring mana to Taric

You cant compare aram to summoners rift for tarick gold isn't an issue so you can build how you want your ult covers 90% of the lane so youll always a get a decent one atop of it being more obvious when a team fights gona happen

ARAM's totally different from SR, but I think he is one of the most fun champs to play on that map. No one really notices your stuns coming, and your ult is insanely powerful. Only thing is some people playing on your team may have no idea what's going on when you use your abilities and not take advantage of your ult.

I actually really enjoyed playing old Taric back in the days were i still used to play mainly support. Like holy shit with his Auras his teamfighting was insane, even if it perhaps never quite looked like Taric did much. I guess another reason why a rework was kinda necessary. Getting in the middle of teamfight, ulting too buff your team and shredding the enemy Resistance with your w while it gave resistance to survive the first burst of the enemy first was something my teamates probably never really took note of but as the taric player you could easily tell the impact once you see a fight without you in it.

i would change his Q. Make it a point and click healing that is increased based on taric's proximity to allies (instead of the charges stored, similar to world of warcraft paladin's mastery). Have his passive reduce cooldown by half for each auto (2 auto=full cooldown reset). With the limitation of requiring auto on enemies while making it stronger when nearby allies, you can lower the mana cost, since there are already conditions. If you are fighting with an ally bruiser, you can deal damage while healing him at max power. if you are peeling for your adc, you heal the adc extra when he position wrong (close to the enemy mele), or less if he is doing a good job kiting

Near the end of s10 I found out I could prop him full with active effect support items + ingenious hunter to mitigate the mana issues and also have plenty of use of the items, which actually worked really well, but unfortunately s11 completely ruined it by making locket and shureleya's mythics, which I had as third or fourth item before.

As a pretty confident Taric player, I find that rushing a tear and building Shurelia's Battlesong pretty much take cares of my mana issues. His early game is definitely different than the majority of supports, and can be super punishing if you don't manage his resources correctly. His power spike isn't until level 4, and in most lane matchups you have to play him reactively rather than proactively/aggressively, but god is he rewarding as hell to play once you find the rhythm.

I absolutely love Taric, I play him on toplane and I'm having a blast every time. I just love the fact that he's a support with a fighter passive, which makes him really versatile and fun to experiment with. And yes, he is quite team dependent, but the fact that you can combine his abilities with others champions can always create interesting and unexpected combos and strategies.

Im glad someones talking about my main. Tarics mana regen is pretty descent so you cant fight all the time but you aren't always oom. Also Prescence of Mind and Glacial Shroud are great on him. Pick up Glacial early and sit on it. His passive damage is good. and he destroys divers and assassins even without his ult. the delay on his E can actually work in your favor for hard engages, if you see the engage coming you can cast it so it still goes off even when you are CC'd. Just dont use his E for Engage, only for Peel. I love this champ because he prevents the flashy champions from getting their snowball kills.

Most of tarics issues can be circumvented by playing him jungle. His clear with bravado is almost as fast as as meta farming junglers, natural mana regeneration in jungle really helps early, and ganking is actually pretty easy with him. I trully feel like he is more of a jungler than a support

Hot with the stun, get some mana back or if ally takes damage, Q them to get a HoT for that difference along with the initial burst. Both options help Taric and the teammate.

Another is his E. It's really cool that you can cast from Taric and his link but it's done in the most absurd way : The angle at which the E is sent from Taric is defined by the direction you are aiming with your mouse. On the linked champion the angle relative to the character model is conserved, so it aims in a completely different direction. Basic examples (because my description isn't super clear) : if you both face the same direction, both dazzle go in the same direction. If you face opposite direction then dazzle will go in opposite direction. This means that if I want to use dazzle from my link to protect him from a jungler gank (because he didn'z fall back and I'm already closer to tower, or because they target adc first) : 1. I must not aim at the jungler directly, 2. I must not aim in the direction from my adc to ennemy (imagine I'm adc, where do I aim ?) 3. I must instead look at the direction my adc is running, determine the direction of jungler relative to their run, look at the direction I'm running, determine that same direction relative to my run, aim and release e. Worse yet imagine a bursty champion that moves around a whole lot like an irelia, a samira or something. They run into a fight, they could use dazzle. How to predict what orientation they'll have when they spinning around like a maniac ? It's very convoluted and stupid, the only other aspect I can think of where the orientation of a character matters is shaco's passive, but at least there's only one orientation to control and it's for bonus damage not for the whole move to work at all. Two better alternatives : - Same world direction : Instead of the game replicating the angle relative to Taric's orientation onto the link, the game simply copies the game direction. This would therefore imply that both dazzly always face in the same direction and are parallel. So in that scenario, the jungler is on the left of my adc, let me aim to the left. - Same world target : When you aim at a spot with any linear move, the game deduces the direction from you towards the coordinate you are pointing at, the target. Have it be that the target is the same for both shots. So my shot is from me towards the target and my links shot is from them towards the target. So in that scenario : I want to hit the jungler, let me put my mouse on the jungler. A problem with that is that it would make it impossible to use dazzle for your link to hit someone that isn't on your screen and require large mouse movements just to aim, so not a fan but still possible. I get that it's cool when two opposite direction shots land in a crazy unforeseen way but either something really cool happens out of dumb luck or the e becomes unusable unless by taric directly. This is compounded by the fact that Taric's passive is instrumental in reducing cool down and making his set work. While using dazzle through your link you don't have the opportunity to use bravado, but it's worth it if you can land a useful shot for your link. But it's impossible to correctly aim the shot coming from your link. So almost never worth it

It took me a little bit but I got used to the new Taric and he's one of my main supports. He requires careful resource management and timing, but when you pull of a successful ultimate that saves your team while the enemy team falters and dies it's worth it. Recently found that when timed right, his ult can nullify Neeko's ultimate which can get bonkers if she's fed. Stopping all that damage was so gratifying.

I feel like the problem of the high mana costs is the biggest one. You can only use a few q's before running out of mana, making him useless for the rest of the fight. And the heals aren't that strong either so it's better to use other enchanters with stronger long term healing / shielding Also the whole combination between a support and a tank is really problematic because tanks usually don't have a lot of mana and can't spam their abilities while enchanters often relies on spamming their abilities in teamfights so it's create this really awfull position where you shine spamming your abilites but can't because of your low mana pool Love your videos btw

i love the combination of tank and enchanter but the high problem its mana, if taric could spam the q more than 2 times he will be decent sup, cause when i get a suficient mana (win the line and i can buy mana) he become so powerfull more when are a tank in the suport lane cause he cant kill the adc. and its fun but there no runes or objet that fix the bigest problem in him

Dont forget that he also got buffed and then heavely nerfed in a relatively short time after he was released. After that, people started to play him as an actual solo laner with decent succes, I still remember the time you could actually carry games with him as a full tank. Then he got that mini rework on his kit making it the funnel champ that he is today. As always Rito on all of its 200 years of game design and its moto "We encourage diverse gameplay for champions... unless its not the way we want it to be." AKA "Supports should not be solo laners but mid lane burst mages are A-OK as supports."

I've been a taric main since before the rework. Personally, I like playing him solo que because you can turn teamate misplays into good fights/engages. Yes he's squishy unless your adc gets really ahead, but he also has great distance on his stun (if used on a teammate, especially with a dash). I think the noevlty value is relevent as well, he's never banned and most people never play against him. This means if you're a main, you get consistent picks for a one-trick and people are slightly caught off-guard by what he can do in the right hands. He has decent sustain early with Q, and can dish out decent damage in all ins. One negative is that depending on the match up, flash is almost critical to engage in bot. But as long as you turn that into double-kills, it's a worthy use imo. If you view your ult as a good diving tool early game, and a follow up engage late game as opposed to a last ditch "save me", that works better as well. I can see why people don't play him, infact I like it that way because I he goes unoticed in bans and early game, which works great for me. It's also worth mentioning that when he's recently been buffed, and counters most of the top tier supports at the moment.

The biggest issue I always had when picking Taric in the new season is this; why am I picking a champion that excels most 30 minutes, when the game is over at 22-25 minutes. It's this painful first 15 that makes him abysmal to pick early, because you can't lane against a Karma, Janna, or Lulu, mixed with, if you have the space to pick your support late, why not pick to counter the enemy team comp more reliably, with say a Maokai, Rell or Galio support, or a Leona Nautilus, Alistar

I think a good idea for a balance change would be to make his bravado passive apply on the attacks of the teammate he is connected to. that way when you go in for a trade, the adc's basic attacks will proc his passive damage and reduce his cooldowns. Definitely would need to remove the bonus attack speed and rebalance him around that, but I think it would make taric a lot more fun to play

I've found a lot of fun playing him top with Grasp + Presence of Mind, building Frostfire/Titanic Hydra/Manamune. Still relies on a hard engage jungler tho. Give him mana regen on Bravado hits and he'll be nasty.

There is this item in Wild Rift, and each time i look at it, i think it's just perfect for Taric, even tho creating a must have items for champions to make them viable is not a good practice. Anyway, it's called Fimbulwinter, it's a tank Tear item, which gives 10 Ability Haste, 350 Health and 1200 Mana. It's Awe effect grants 1% of max Mana as Ability Haste and refunds 15% of mana spent. It's other effect, Frozen Colossus, grants you a shield (150+5% of current mana per nearby enemy champion, 15s cooldown) when you immobilize a target (can only be triggerend when you have nore that 20% of Mana). It's not upgraded version is Winter Approach, it has same Awe effect. Charges gained when you use mana, with basic attacks on-hit and when you take damage from enemy champions, turrets and epic monsters. I think item is so great to complement Taric and his needs in a game. Maybe Taric mains can ask Riot to add this item to main game, ofc it's probably need some balancing to be on level with Manamune and Seraph's Embrace

I was a taric main for a long time but since the new season and the rework of items he struggles extremely with mana since his costs are extremely high but theres just not enough items that grant max mana. And since hes encouraged by his resets to spam in fight you basically run out of mana after 2 rotations. Also some adjustments to runes have nerfed him since presence of mind no longer grants max mana, tear can help but its just not good as said. Also the old guardian which gave a small movement burst where you could often just turn and land a 100% safe stun and close the gap between enemies.
