So much of this could be applied to LocoRoco as well. A game series also created by Japan Studio. I've seen many people recently try out LocoRoco because of it's dedicated level in Astro Bot and, with the better understanding of tilt controls on display there, I think there's a lot of potential in a new LocoRoco title.

I'll throw another idea at ya. Imagine locoroco being played with the playstation portal. Yes it could be played of course on PS5- but I would think using the portal as a means of marketing could both push sales of the portal and a new locoroco. And could be considered as the most "optimized" way to play.

I was honestly surprised how prominent ape escape was featured in astrobot. Like it had a whole level dedicated to it. Ape escape was so good. It needs to come back. Especially with todays tech.

Dude, ape escape was the first game I ever played. Was so excited to see it recognized in a big way with Astro Bot. The whole game itself feels like an image in a way, the fact that you capture bits just like the monkeys and the fact they have unique personalities and descriptions.

since Team Asobi was created by the Remnants of Japan Studio, They should be task on Reviving, & Rebooting Sony's Neglected IPs.

Maybe even increase their workforce or create a spin off studio or two dedicated to work on said Neglected IPs, on top of throwing a bone to those studios to create some new stuff as well, either way I'm curious to see what they will do.

I would KILL for a remaster of the OG Ape Escape Trilogy. We already got Ape Escape 1 and some spin offs on PS Plus Classics and I am hoping to get the japanese exclusive games with english subtitles. I don't care if we don't get an english dub for these games. I just want to play them. I have a lot of hope with these new CEO's and with the Soul Reaver Remaster I have so much hope for a new Ape Escape!

We've got Ape Escape 2 in the PSN; HOWEVER, for some weird reason it's the European release so we don't get the same VAs as the American Release.

Yeah GamingPez the new leadership at Sony actually wants to try and give us what we've been wanting for awhile now, there's even an interview with one of the longtime upper management at PlayStation that vented his frustration on having a handful of IPs that are currently active rather than more with variety instead of "look it's a realistic person" song and dance we've been getting since the early HD era.

You never know with Sony these days, they are currently transitioning from the Jim Crying Lying Ryan's era of running PlayStation to the new crew that actually seem to be passionate on making games and tapping into their audience instead of some get rich quick schemes which Jim Ryan seemed to have followed a little too much, Sony took the gambit on Astrobot and that seemed to have payed off well for them, so Ape Escape getting a new title or remake is likely same with a certain Raccoon and Elemental Elf.

Love your content but as a long term big fan of Ape Escape I must say this: Specter wanted to run and make Apes the dominant species over humans. I would love to see the old Ape Escape games localized and put on psn while they take the framework of all the lore and restart the timeline with the first game. Like start out the same but then at some point Spike doesn't get transported back altering the timeline and thus kicking the fresh part of the game off where it falls into an Astrobot treatment of level designs. Ape escape can be seen as Astro's big sibling as it was made to show off what the new controller can do while Astro's playroom did the same for ps5.

I did hear somewhere that the Team Asobi head was interested in on working on Ape Escape, like possibly teasing that's what's next after Astrobot is said and done. They would be a perfect choice not to mention a proven track record with games like that, so them taking a crack on that iconic Monkey Wrangling Platformer Game is quite an excellent fit, I'm down for Spike and crew to return, it feels long overdue.

I haven't even watched the video but I have it a Like immediately. I've been wanting this franchise to come back for so long! Even though I grew up with SNES and Genesis, the original Ape Escape was the first game I bought for with my own money and could call the game my own and not my sibling's or the family's. Ape Escape has an extremely special place in my heart and I love playing it from time to time. I remesteted trilogy would be amazing!

Honestly Astro makes it a perfect time to revive any number of Sony IPs. Ape Escape, PaRappa, Jak, Sly, Resistance, Killzone...that said I agree that Ape Escape is at the top of my list of IPs I wish Sony did more with.

I might be the crazy one, but I wouldn't mind seeing even Blasto comeback but in a game that actually slaps, what I had in mind is a try try again tough but fair platformer in the vein of Super Meat Boy, Celeste and Cuphead but in 3D, could be an entertaining game for sure when you add good comedic writing to it then it can be something very special.

Ape Escape 2 was my favorite PS2 game. I played the original Ape Escape on the PSP, it was good, but it was not as good as Ape Escape 2 was. I never played Ape Escape 3, but I looked at walkthroughs and it looked better than the previous one. For a new Ape Escape game, There should be new monkey bosses like the freaky monkey five to mix it up a bit and new broad spaces and new mechanics for the PS5 dualshock controller.

Astro bot brought the main character of legacy of kain soul reaver then a few weeks later the PlayStation state of play announced the remasters of the 2 games so maybe it could happen to ape escape as well here’s hope!

We really need a remake collection for Ape Escape. There are so many games in that series - main titles, spinoffs, and VR. I think Sony might do that and add it to PC so that some Japanese Ape Escape exclusives will come to America and Europe.

My first Ape Escape game was actually 2 and later played 1 and 3 (which quickly became my favorite). I would love to see a remaster. I'd also like to see Astrobot on PC but I'm unsure if that'll ever happen

I want to say we should, but I don't see any hope in there being a brand new Ape Escape (I'm not sure what happened to the original devs and creators) I had HEARD there was something being developed until Sony dissolved their Japanese studios (save for Team Asobi who did Astrobot) and moved them to their main team. A remake/remaster might be possible, but that also comes with its own hurdle... specifically Ape Escape 3 having an entire Metal Gear Solid mini-game that plays almost like a game of its own. Which they would need to get Konami's permission to use Metal Gear Solid ...or just cut the mini-game out entirely.

Yeah it's a case of depending on the game type thing, as you said if it's a forgotten title then doing anything with it feels absolutely valid including Remakes and Remasters. However for a long running series that is active and it's previous entries are available on modern systems, then for the most part a remake and to some extent a remaster feels invalid much like the criticism for the The Last Of Us Remakes on how well that's gone let alone the other ones following this trend being Horizon Zero Dawn Remake which was leaked multiple times before being publicly revealed where everyone groaned at the site of it.

The problem with Ape Escape is that it is primarily designed for the DualShock. Real PC players always use Keyboard and Mouse, and there's no way to translate its unique control scheme to Keyboard.

I love the original ape escape. It felt like it was punching ahead of it's time, even if it was a bit simple it was still ridiculously fun and silly. I can't say that about the sequels though. They all felt super rushed and cheap as hell

Ape escape is a series thats just alright. Its fun but they dont change that much and youre still just catching monkeys. I know why it did not sell so well. Just played 3 and after catching like 80 monkeys its just boring.
