Why Obi-Wan Sensed THE DARK SIDE in Luke (CANON)

Obi-wan should've known that lying to Luke about his father being killed by Darth Vader would backfire on him. When Vader told Luke that he was his father, Luke could've reacted exactly the way Obi-wan feared would happen like turning his back on the Jedi and joining the dark side just like Vader did. Obi-wan was lucky that Luke chose not to follow in his father's footsteps.

Well, “from a certain point of view..” Luke realized that not only did the Jedi NOT tell him about his father, they allowed him to have the hots for his sister. I’d be pissed too.

I know Obi was having that PTSD and was thinking Luke would turn into what Ani became and Luke nearly did, Obi wasn’t wrong there. But Luke broke those chains because he cared more about his father than temporary power.

The thing is: Obi-Wan had no right to lie to Luke's face about his father being Darth Vader in the first place. No more than Owen did. Luke deserved to know to the truth. I cannot blame Luke for feeling betrayed or feeling down a bit about it. But I get why they didn't tell him. The ironic part in this whole thing is that Obi-Wan and Yoda were WRONG about Anakin and Luke. Luke ends up doing what everyone else failed to do: Redeem his father and help bring balance to the force.
