We all knew IQ was leaving for FA at the end of the year, so I'm glad we got something to show for him. RJ has improved every year until recently but as a #3 pick overall he has underperformed. OG is a better defender and a capable scorer. The Knicks improved their starting rotation but sacrificed their offensive spark plug of their 2nd team. IQ and RJ will be missed but life goes on.

For me, the stat to watch to determine the success of this trade is OPPG. The Knicks are currently ranked 12th at allowing 113.3ppg and that includes the first two games with Anunoby. The first two games with him, their OPPG is 103.0ppg. That’s HUGE!!! Now the sample size is obviously too small to come to a concrete conclusion but if this is something that they can maintain, things bode well. It’s going to cause a lot of problems for opponents. The defensive prowess that OG displayed against Minnesota his first night was phenomenal! So, as of right now, for his first two games, the Knicks have basically maintained their PPG average for the season while showing a 10 ppg improvement in their OPPG. Let’s see what happens going forward…..

He fits in great, hes a very smooth player I noticed, his passes are smooth and precise, its like his feet are gliding on defense, but I will say we lost a good amount of points, we need to get another decent scoring two guard.

For those watching og play the last two games. Dude can do more tham what hes showing on offense. Hes a handful in the post and hes got a midrange game too. He hasnt had a chance yet to show it.

I appreciate this video but one correction. Dante divincenzo won a ring with the bucks . He’s significantly apart of this rotation and has championship pedigree. OG helps that as well . Great video nonetheless 💪🏼

Raps fan here, OG always frustrated me with his offense. But his defense is sublime. Gonna miss him when next we face Jokic, Giannis, Doncic, KD, Jimmy Buckets... These guys dont put up the totals they are accustomed to against OG

OG does what we wished RJ did.So far OG been good so we don’t know what his off days look like.But offensively we just needed an efficient inside out player and he’s been delivering.Our team has looked completely different and we’re moving the ball so well since the trade.Brunson isn’t a big assist guy but he’s had 27 assists the first two games.

If they didn’t finally pull the trigger on trading Immanuel they were losing him for nothing, same with acquiring Precious bc Ihart may leave in FA also. So throwing IQ in they were able to improve by subtraction of RJ plus massive benefits in many needed areas for their big stars, very well done NYK

Yeah I don’t think u could’ve made a more perfect trade than rhis one for New York.. and it also works out for the raptors pretty well too .. but as far as the Knicks go, it’s wild how much of a different team they look like already in Og’s first 2 games.. he has slotted into this lineup without missing a beat .. all the Knicks really need now is another guard and possibly another backup C with Mitch out for the season, and no it doesn’t have to be superstar type players, just quality guys..

Very simple. Quickly wasn’t gonna re sign with us anyway. So we would lose him and have nothing to show for it So the trade is basically RJ for OG. OG is better and is much better suited for our system
