Idk what are you people talking about. Everyone says minecraft with lots of useless items, mechanics, etc. is fun. But I never understood you. There's almost no progression, no deep mechanics. The exploration thing I will definitely never understand. How people can find fun in exploring procedurally generated world with premade structures? The other thing people say is that "minecraft is a sandbox, it doesn't make you do something, you can do anything", but why would I want to do anything? Express my creativity? Then what for do I need minecraft at all?? Learning how to draw or how to make music are a lot more productive and rewarding ways of expressing your creativity. Minecraft is fun if you're playing with friends, but only until you go through the progression, after that everything becomes stale and starts to feel more like a job, than a game. Minecraft isn't getting "borring" people are. The "objectives" the game are there to give you a sense of direction but not as guidelines to be strictly followed. You can choose to ignore it and tou can still feel happy playing minecraft. @@D1llDog Yeah, because they want to do that. That's not everyone. And even in the circumstances where they do it's one of three. 1. They want to play Old Minecraft before Hunger for that older vibe. Some do it only for a little bit, others stick around for awhile. There are dedicated servers for this so it works out, but they're not too too big. 2. They're playing on Hypixel which sticks with 1.8 PVP, a system people appreciate a lot more than the new combat system. The new system works of course, but people feel incredibly strongly on it so they're okay with staying on 1.8 for that server. Plus it's not like nothing new ever happens then, it's a Minecraft server with plugins. Hypixel doesn't have something? They can code it via a plugin. Just look at Skyblock and everything it's achieved, that's all 1.8. It could also be done in the newest versions of course, but that doesn't make it any less special and fun to play. 3. It's 1.12.2 because the server these people are playing on is more stable that version and is less likely to experience performance issues. That's why 2B2T stayed on that version for so long.

So much this. Take villagers that were blamed in the video. I don't like villager trading and "industrialized" breeding where they are placed in 1x1 cells and never did it. Instead I like building them a giant mansion and place a dropper(filled with food) in the garden which is activated by pressure plates. When villagers walk randomly, they get fed and create new villagers. This is impossible in the old versions without villagers. This is impossible in the old versions where village breeding doesn't exist. This is immersive as mansion feels alive.

This is perhaps one of the most outstanding pieces of modern minecraft analysis, in terms of its utter stupidity. In fact, I have taken this to such a high offense that I have watched the entire video for the pure, express purpose of finding the points he makes and completely, and since my vocabulary fails to find a more intense word, "shit" on it. I even have a goddamn notepad file that has all the points you make on this video so I can detail each and every single one to laugh and simultaneously lose brain cells to it. 1,931 words OR 11,091 characters. Heavy yapping, and maybe some points are repeated First, he goes on a tirade about old minecraft's being the supposed definition of a sandbox game, asserting that it grants the player complete creative freedom in relation to itself, as it supposedly did not have guidance or "pre-set goals". Modern minecraft does not have any of these, there is no real internal guiding scheme to indicate what you are supposed to do or how you are supposed to do it. Sure there is the ender dragon, but the game isn't setting that as an end-point, YOU are. You're free to do all you like post-dragon. I think there's a real misunderstanding here from Sipover, because he assumes that once you beat the ender dragon you're just supposed to say "Well, that's it! I guess I have nothing else to do!". According to Sipover, nowadays, the inclusion of the ender dragon, a feature since 1.0 (Sipover is playing on 1.8), annuls any further enjoyment contrived from the creation of magnificent buildings, or mind-bendingly complex redstone contraptions, or just lollygagging in general. He also says that EXTERNAL tutorials further set a preamble to how you should play the game. Is that new minecraft's fault, that its popularity has lend to its own simplification to those who SEARCH out of their own WILL to find ways to solve simple problems? Here's a revolutionary idea guys! Perhaps don't search for tutorials? Better yet, research the problem and create your own solution to it. You can still use your brain, because unlike what Sipover asserts, you don't need to follow everything online. There's also the apparent problem of advancements, which I find mind-bogglingly stupid to complain about, since achievements were also in 1.8, the version Sipover's playing in. Not just that, but inherently, you don't have to use it strictly, it's a guide for new players, it isn't a journal or questbook that details every single detail or task that needs execution to reach a stagnant end-goal, because there is no stagnant end-goal. In fact, let's ask this question, why does Sipover have so much fuss over this end-goal? What end-goal is there to a sandbox game like Minecraft. Is it beating the ender dragon? Is it beating the Wither? Or, maybe, and this is going to be quite the shocker, there is no end goal! Other than the ones you set for yourself once you start a new game session or world. The end goal of minecraft exists only in your head in the manifestation of when you are bored with your world after spending god knows how long in it IMMERSED (ooh foreshadowing) in your own creation! Our next course involves another incredibly atrocious attempt to discredit new minecraft for its apparent burgeoning of methods or solutions that can be taken when presented with a problem. What will you do when you encounter a zombie horde in new minecraft, that's right, do whatever! Ignore it, run away from it, kill it, or harvest them to disable mob spawns, new minecraft doesn't care, but there's some weird assertion from Sipover that the only way to do so, or I suppose reasonably do so, is to run away. Like you can't take that exact fucking path in nostalgiacraft, you shit-stained twat. Or, maybe you don't have items? Well, in new minecraft, just run to the newly minted fully-leveled smith villager and grab your handy 4 stacks of emeralds and trade for shittily enchanted diamond tools. Keep in mind, all this requires previous work to be done in excess! This isn't a problem with new minecraft, it's a problem with you, because you need to find a way to beef up your reasons to hate on the fact that you no longer have that childhood spark of enjoyment and creativity within you. Instead you are trapped to make compilations or "inspired" videos with that god-awful monotone voice that seems to be plaguing youtube as a whole. The next part is quite ironic, one of your "veterans" asks a representation of Notch for views. It's quite telling, considering your own content, as well as the video itself. Nostalgia bait has never been so much on the nose before than now, and I'm personally decontaminating myself in order to ensure its particulates are properly removed from my system. And then, using that experience in the aforementioned scene as a "revelation", you go on to say that the adventure of old minecraft was what supposedly made it so entertaining, and that new minecraft lacks such mystique and premise because of... following the most efficient route to beat the ender dragon? This is not even a "perhaps", this is just pure and simple fact, you have lost your sense of adventure because you have played minecraft and consumed related content to such an extent that you have decided the most optimal way to beat, rather, play minecraft is to kill the ender dragon. As an aside, no such concept is enforced on you remotely. There's no uncertainty, BECAUSE YOU HAVE ELIMINATED IT, of course the game is going to get stale if you play it for that long, because to YOU, there's only one END GOAL. There's NO CREATIVITY in your purview of minecraft, because if something doesn't help you beat the ender dragon, again, and I sound like a broken record, a end goal YOU YOURSELF set, then it's useless to you and doesn't fucking matter. What is to a "OG" minecrafter the concept of creating spires that reach to the heavens, artpieces in and of itself, if it doesn't help me get to "beat" the game. You fuckface, you miserable skank, you wet wipe, you brought this upon yourself. "You're forced to walk in this unguided-" AND WHO'S GUIDING YOU IN THE MODERN FUCKING VERSIONS?!?! A new player steps into the world of 1.21 minecraft and doesn't know shit, who's telling him to go to a village, kill the iron golem, find a cave, get diamonds, hop into the nether, use some F3 bullshittery to find a nether fortress, kill some blazes & kill some endermen too, leave, use pixel-perfect triangulation, and then go to the end to beat YOUR OWN FUCKING SET END POINT. NO ONE YOU DISINGENUOUS NOSTALGIA-BAITING TWO PANEL THUMBNAIL DUMBASS, IN THAT FACT/SENSE THERE IS STILL A SENSE OF ADVENTURE AND MYSTERY. Modern Minecraft has so many options on what to do that it’s practically impossible to get bored if you actually try to do it all.

There are multiple versions of beta Minecraft. before 1.8, sprinting and advancements weren't a thing. he was probably in a pre 1.8 version.
