One feedback to Konkan Railways. Given that RO-RO are so successful, for the benefit of the drivers and assistants who spend so much time in their trucks, can IR/ KR just add one pantry car right in the front, right next to the loco and caboose? That way drivers and assistants can buy fresh food, will have toilet facilities and also maybe have a small entertainment section in it so they can sit and watch a movie or something. This will greatly benefit the drivers and assistants who spend days on end in their trucks and also make it extremely popular with the truckers.

Konkan railway has many crossings as it's a single line. So this facility might not be needed as it can be availed in stations

@@SiddharthRaiyani They could have done doubling of tracks instead of electrification Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu did 40 km from Roha to Veer , but his sucessor instead spent money for electrification of single track of KR, because Malai bahut badi bath hain. Electrification me jyada malai than double track laying.

Even if Double Tracking Is not Possible one thing can be done i.e. alternative days running. One day From Veer to Mangalore the next Day from Mangalore to Veer. This can have a greater impact to save time and cover the route very fast. This may have an Impact on train scheduling timetable for a while but that can be sorted out in near future. In emergencies the NH 66 can be preferred as it is on the verge of getting the highway completed by four laning.

not in near future , they spent on electrification of single track knowing very well that KR has become saturated in terms of running more trains. Malai bahut badi cheese hain.

I want to let You know that aapko bahut Khushi Hogi, Ham log iss Ro-Ro Service ko All India me Chalane k Liye Hamari (IITians) Team Kaam kar rahi ek Nayi Techonology Develop karne me. Kuch Sallon me hi aapko ye Ro-Ro Services Poore India me dekhne ko milegi wo bhi Fastag se integrated hote huve along with that ye sabse advanced techonology se powered hogi. Hum poori duniya me pehli aise techonology develop kar rahe hain and 4-5 sallon me aapko India is Railway Techonology me Lead karte huve Dikhega.

I agree. There is no will to run such trains. One Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Sahastrabuddhe also proposed one similar kind of train should run daily between JNPT-Vadodara/ Ahemdabad, which will reduce cost of transportation, time & majorly traffic of between Panvel-Thane (esp Ghodbandar Rd) + Mumbai Ahemdabad Highway. But sadly both the zones Central + Western didn't coordinated properly resulting this Ro-Ro service was shut down immediately.

Maybe not. Because of the terrain maybe too much traffic jam if roads are not 6 lanes at least which I don't think is quite possible there and not to forget Konkan coast and ghats attract a great amount of tourists because of the peace and scenic beauty. So maybe we'll see what happens

I hope that DFCCIL (dedicated freight corridor) by virtue of being a PSU will deploy such Ro-Ro services on a larger scale and with more competitive pricing due to the usage of electric/new diesel locomotives.

There’s already coastal highway work going on since last 10 years but is not getting closure due to locals & politicians of kokan. It’s Mumbai-Goa highway

Politicians of goa has also cancelled the doubling of railway. Maybe they don’t want more tourists to visit easily. Reason which they gives is environmental but trains are more beneficial economically as well as environmentally.

Bro one such project Hubli ankola was opposed by environment activist they don't want their son or daughter work in railway and come home at evening to eat with them by their hard earned railway money😂

@@SiddharthRaiyani Konkan Railway has already land for double track in their possesion along entire route. Only lacking was presence of sincere political leaders like George Fernandes, Madhu Dandavate, Ramakrishna Hegde and Suresh Prabhu. Suresh Prabhu did doubling of track from Roha to Veer, but his succesor PG was interested only in *Malai* and took up electrification of single track Konkan railway knowing very well that track was saturated for more train traffic. Rupees 1287 crores was spent on electrification purpose.Ofcourse there would some obstacles in doubling of tunnels but still major chunk of route could be doubled

Best railway service ever traveled. Konkan railway is LIFE LINE for West coast people. Even with single track line KR is providing best services. Sad that some politicians wants to transfer to southern railway. We konkans sacrifice d our land for this railway.

Due to poor condition of Mumbai -Goa highway, trucker prefer this system. Due to high demand it's profitable to railway also. Which is not a case on other routes.

Indigo gives flexibility like non other. Indigo connects Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities even. Most of the airlines are limited to national capital and state capitals and not to other cities but Indigo is. That's why rest companies are failing to do so. Indigo has almost last I checked around 300 planes, they connect small cities too with big cities and give connecting flights that too without change of planes/or if change then Indigo planes only. So they have grabbed the domestic market like no other.

But not to forget we've a large population and most of the people still use trains, whereas the countries operating with Emirates like UAE or Lufthansa, they've a very small population and small geosurface, they're small by population and by mass, so being a small country they need very less domestic and more international flights whereas we in India need almost equal amount of domestic as well as International flights. We've a huge traffic and not to forget we're still a developing nation so, maybe the future holds services comparable or maybe better than the Emirates as we'll reach the verge of developing nation to developed nation with this much population

Konkan ne sirf ek line chalti hai. Yeh saalo se same hi hai. Kabhi badhega kya malum. Agar ban gaya toh Konkan ko revenue boost milega. Aur logo ko Goa ke alava aur bohat explore karne milega

Starting agar kisi aur state government ne ki hogi to maybe koi contract hoga ya koi agreement hoga is wjah se na khrid rhi ho. Aur centre se manage krna bhi difficult h kyuki Karnataka Goa aur Maharashtra k bhut parts aise ghaat section hai toh waha k locals usi state se manage krna easy hoga maybe. Just a pov

But we can build ports or logistics park at start and end point to sort the goods like ships do We dont see any trucks on ships Do we? So in long run buildings DFC is the way to for streamlining the transport I think

Freights are meant to transport larger amount of goods for larger businesses such as cement, automobile, fuels, metals, etc. These RO trucks are for comparatively smaller businesses & for other goods materials such as fruits, minerals, milk, wood etc

Haa haa, irony, ekside ko bolta hai railway piche tha 2014 ke pehle and abhi Railway aage badh raha hai. Nd vahi time pe KRCL jo 90's 2000's me bani nd tabhise KRCL pe RORO chalu hai. Hyopocrite

This is one of the horrible service on KR. Because of this trains always there is a conjunction and trains getting late on a single track. Also trains going towards Kerala given top most priority over other trains. Till the doubling of track no train should be allowed for Kerala
