Completely relate to this and thank you for sharing this video and hope that this disease is curable. I have constant lower back stiffness due to the sitting nature of my job - my posture is mostly bent as your described while I’m sat. I have been having the same pain started for 2 years on my left knee and now beginning on my right. Pain Only shows up when I’m running or jumping. 37 year old male

I had this growing up, I’m 26 now and a new lump of bone has grown under my initial bump and it is displaying the same symptoms of pain I had when younger! Had this new bump for 2 yrs now.

Here's an interesting question to ponder. I'm 58, female and had these spurs below my kneecaps for 20+ years. They mostly only hurt when I'm kneeling on a solid surface. I've got to use a pillow. Here's what I wonder if it's associated with my disability. I've got primary end-stage Ankylosing Spondylitis with secondary Psoriatic Arthritis, Sjogren's Syndrome and Reynaulds Phenomenon. I wonder if it's related, especially since AS attacks the soft tissue firstly in your SI joints eventually fusing them as the soft tissue ossifies and new bone grows because of the on and off inflammation. Then it moves up into the spine eventually causing hyperkyphosis and fuses your upper back and neck into a very humped over position. My neck is completely fused with my head being in a permanent prayer like position. Enthesitis is the first stage of Ankylosing Spondylitis. This sort of feels linked somehow

I disagreed almost vehemently when seeing this presentation, and even still when I saw the article, which points out that we don't grow asymmetrically (paraphrase). I was like, I definitely remember growing up and one leg being slightly longer than the other. But now I'm coming around -- I have also suffered from bad posture and lower back "stiffness" that felt impossible to smooth out. So I'm going to look at this whole OSD in a new light now - thanks for your help. ~~30yr old male with OSD.

At the end of the day mate all that matters are results. If you do find that mobilizing some of those stiffer lower back segments contributes to an improvement in your function and symptoms then you've hopefully found another avenue to explore to get you to where you'd like to be. Really hope it helps!

I'm 24 and a professional dancer, stopped growing and never had too much pain until this year in my knee. I've also broken my back at the L5 when I was 18 and think these could be connected rn

Hey Paul! If you check out the playlists on the channel there's one dedicated to the back. There are a few back stretches there!

missing information to add pelvic tilt issues, neuropathy through out the body, personally had it all the way up to my neck, however stretching does help, but over years may cause inactivity and arthritis etc... in hips

Hi, can OS be a result of not walking the right way because of 'frozen' joints of both big toes (hallux rigidus) due to arthrosis? I am a 57 year old women and I am pretty sure both bumps beneath my knees are OS. Though my (very young) doctor says it can't be OS because that is a condition seen by teenage boys. I can't make the correct rolling movement with my feet because the stuck joints. Have you ever come across people getting OS because of that reason?
@YourWellnessNerd10 ай бұрын
I haven’t Riendelle, but the labels may not matter as much if you know where your pain is/was. It’s important to find those hidden handbrakes like your toes and try to improve them to see what impact you can have

Hi, our 12 year old (active in grassroots football (soccer) has recently been told his is OS. He's already been doing 3 warm up stretches before any strenuous activity (on advice of the Dr) but after seeing this video of yours regarding the link of the back, I'd like to ask the following; We'd like to try in the short term - during his soccer training / games of kinsielogy taping, but I do note some different variations/interpretations of direction in applied tape from various sources... Is there a preference for taping direction/lengths that doesn't have any negative effect on the lower back for example whilst tapes applied (we don't wish to make it worse for him) ... As we wish to tape whilst also furthering this additional (makes a lot of sense) new approach of his mid/lower back as a potential trigger point, that could be making his knees (suffers in both with OS but his right much worse, as it's his soccer kicking leg) alone worse, and as you state not treating another key driver/link of why he has OS and how to improve it as much as possible over time. 👍🏻

You are right!! The bump below my left knee got sore when l hurt my back lifting a 40lb pail of kitty litter! Back feels like l have a 3 inch rod in it! It hurts to try to bend backwards. Not sure, maybe ruptured a disc? Having problems with my legs and ankles swelling now.

I hope you’ve since sorted it out, mate!

I took it easy for about six months and whatever I did to my back, (slipped disc,/ruptured disc) not sure, but it is so much better and the soreness below my left knee went away. Thank you for your knowledge and enlightening us about our poor old bodies!

Should I also do some streghtening excercises for the lower back ?
@YourWellnessNerd4 жыл бұрын
I can't comment on you specifically Demir, but as a rule any core strength exercises like planks/swiss ball exercises are adequate for back strength. Also exercises like clams and squats for the hips and thighs.

Any tips to decrease the pain
@YourWellnessNerd4 жыл бұрын
With my patients I can get the tissue to settle down more quickly by freeing up those quads. Massage, the couch stretch, a foam roller to the outer thigh also work well with them. I also use taping as a handy short term option to take the load off it quickly too.
