I lost the diamond out of my engagement ring in the barn. My horse pushed my hand into the hard wood wall. I didn’t notice till I got to work. My husband also worked in the same office and I told him what happened. Later that night at twilight with a flashlight we searched for the stone in a stall full of pine shavings. He was very determined to fine that stone and believe it or not we found it. After that I always took off my rings when working with the horses. 😊

My husband nearly lost his finger when his ring got caught on something.. it was pure luck he didn’t.. I also have a scar on my right hand ring finger from getting it caught.. my husband was able to help me get unhooked, but I got hurt pretty good..

I wear a silicon wedding band because I lost my diamond and dont want my husband to spend the money to have to replace it. My other rings are from the copper wiring from the house we are building. The last one came out of a vending machine at Texas Roadhouse that my grown son gave when he was little. All cheap, but priceless to me!❤😂

Congratulations, especially doing it your way. I got married in secret, and my husband and I had very good reasons for it, but boy, we stood on a lot of toes. My Mum was terminally ill and wanted us to bring our wedding forward so she could be there. She died 6 weeks later. I will never regret how we did it. I had an extremely nontraditional wedding and I wouldn't trade it for anything! The only ones who were there were the only ones required for the ceremony, my husband, me, a preacher and God! You do you! My husband and I don't wear rings. I have no problem telling people I am married and have been for 30 years! If it requires a ring for you to behave than you have more issues than a ring!!! 😂😀 You can't please all of the people all of the time! So don't! We went to Las Vegas with our 2 best friends and got married 30 yrs ago. We didn't want a wedding, I had enough friends that had big weddings and divorces, some 2 and 3 times. I’m just thankful y’all got married, esp in these times. I think it’s a scriptural event of what the Lord wants us to do… commitment, dedication, to each other for the love they share. It can turn out very expensive when trying put out invitations and all the traditions of the usual event. I had a teacher and someone asked him why he didn't wear a wedding ring. He said he had worked construction and one of his friends jumped out of a truck and his wedding ring got hooked on something and he was basically just dangling by his finger. The guy ended up losing his finger because of the damage. After that, none of his coworkers would wear any jewelry of any kind after that.

About the rings, it's been "a thing" for a couple years now. Just about everyone we know now has them and because they aren't that expensive you can change the color with your mood. If you work with your hands it's great. I love the fact you did the wedding your way, because at the end of the day it's the 2 of you. We are thinking about going back to the town in Nevada where we were married next year and celebrating our 25th anniversary in the hubs sisters backyard - like the day we were married.
