Amen guys! Next year will make 30 years for us. Marriage is give and take and it’s not easy or to be taken lightly. We own a contracting business here in VA and been at it for almost 25 years. There were times I wanted to throw in the towel but I know how bad my husband wanted it and could do it. I, completely different, worked in the legal community and wanted to further my education. We BOTH got our dream because we supported one another. I agree Jason, it’s not happy wife, happy life. It’s happy couple, happy life!

I agree with all you said Jason. Except there is a difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is temporal it only lasts till the A car gets its first scratch Your first argument etc. But joy comes from only God. It's with you whether your new car gets totaled or you have your first big argument. Joy only comes from God. It will take you from minute to minute day to day year year. It is a gift from God that comes through his peace..... Hugs

I haven’t figured out why I follow y’all except that y’all aren’t fake. You get what you see. Down to earth real people. I consider you a good friend. Even though I haven’t seen you for over 2 years. Marriage is a two way street. Give and take. Ups and down. Disagreement will happen. But you have to talk it out. After 35 years being married I would say 95% is up. You have to enjoy life. Friends. I can count on both hands, who I consider true friends. And unfortunately at my age that group of friends is getting smaller. So cherish the one that you have. I've learned many things from you but the 2 biggest that come to mind is how to tighten a fence (worked great) and in Texas you showed that you fed all your animals chickens included sweet feed not chicken feed at twice the price. Been doing that for 4ish years. Saved me so much money and my chickens are happy and healthy.

I so agree with how we all have different realities and need to realize that to try to understand each other. I have learned that and it’s quite surprising to me how differently people can perceive the same experience. Also I feel words are so inadequate to talk about all the complexities of the human mind, heart and soul. God made us and He is so multifaceted. But words are so powerful, too. I think eyes are very powerful in revealing the heart.
