i think you fail to mention some main reasonings as well for example the fact that even though marvel rivals does have sort of the same player base it has the huge advantage of marvel fans and the endless possibility of marvel universe characters, fans of the characters will hop on the game just to play that character something ovrwatch does not have, and i guess that's the insurance that marvel rivals will be successful forever they could just add another insanely popular marvel character and now they tapped into a new playerbase. insane potential

This is very true!! Yeah this is a key point I forgot to mention, Marvel Rivals has the advantage because Marvel has been a recognizable IP for over 70 years. Thank you for pointing this out!

Yeah the optimization is the worst thing about Marvel Rivals right now and they really need to focus on fixing that. Also, I haven't played a real game of Overwatch ever since Marvel Rivals dropped.

Overwatches season content: (aka maybe a game mode, a collab, battle pass and overpriced shop skins) compared to rivals (battle pass, 4 new heroes, 3 new maps, new mode, new story continuation, new skins) I was arguing with a bunch of overwatch glazers and some of them said stuff like: rivals character voices ruin the game and are super annoying, the balancing is a dumpster fire and the abilities dont effect the game at all and dont do much, the art style is "lazy", the playerbase doesnt matter its all just kids, it takes no skill and its just button mashing, "unpolished" version of mortal kombat. They need to be stopped

But all of those points are true except maybe the art style. "Don't mess with the amazing spiderman" is cringe AF. Also you'll see with due time that the balancing is worse than any shooter on the current market. Also what I dislike the most with the game is the optimization. I tried running it on my PC and PS5 and couldn't get a good enough performance to play on.

Yeah keeping up consistency is very important when it comes to live service games and I believe that it will leave a ton of players disappointed if they start cutting back on content. Also thank you for the kind words ❤

sick video and i agree with everything completely. while i enjoy rivals way more than overwatch now i dont have any doubt that either of this games are going anywhere for a very long time, as long as overwatch picks up the pace because of the competition

Blizzard's plan for OW2 is to go back to the game they made 8 years ago. Sorry but with so much lost trust since the announcement of OW2, there is NOTHING they can do to get me back to playing Overwatch 1.2

How does overwatch react rlto a genuine competitor? A patch that buffs Orisa Torb and Symmetra! 3 characters whose play style is the equivalent to watching someone try to drown a fish; not that effective but still isn't enjoyable

first off, its already been confirmed by the devs that season 1 is a double release, meaning its twice the amount of content the rest of the seasons will get, still 2 new Heros, 1 full size map and 1 deathmatch map is still on a different level compared to Overwatch, if we assume a Marvel RIvals season is 3 months like the current one thats still 8 Heros a year also I am so glad the devs have taken a firm stance against role que, that IMO is the worst thing Overwatch ever did, it was a band aid solution to no one wanting to play tank or support instead of making those roles fun to play like Rivals has Edit: Oh yea and it may seem like the amount of content in Marvel Rivals isn't sustainable, but its important to remember 1 crucial fact, the devs are not having to design these characters from scratch like Overwatch, no need to think "What weapon will this character use" or "Whats the origin story of this character" or "What does this character look like" all of that is already done, these are all existing Marvel characters, and luckily since Marvel is such a long lasting franchise theres is years worth of content from the X men alone like unironically at 2 characters a season JUST the original 5 X men alone is almost 3 seasons worth of content, add in Deadpool as the 6th since you can fit him in anywhere (its 100% in character for Deadpool to just decide "Yea I want in the game today") and just like that you have 3 seasons worth of content, well probably have an entire year dedicated to JUST adding in the popular X men

Yea but what overwatch managed to achieve with its sequel, is what marvel rivals achieved and delivered with within the first month. And despite being similar in game premise, one of the game's didn't promise a new fully fledged PvE mode, with skill trees and such, and then delivered with nothing, which is a factor in its downfall. Half the people who played marvel rivals don't even know who some of the characters even are. And we know from games like suicide squad and avengers assemble that people don't care if super heroes are used in a game. So, no. It's not just because marvel rivals has popular heroes.

And yes I understand marvel can just take their original characters they have already but that’s even better then ow. Because the roster is already huge now imagine the next few seasons how many characters they’ll be and the many play style with them compared to ow
