I had my '16 for 2 years and never had a single problem. 2 expensive oil changes and the silly TPS lights coming on which is an easy fix. I would have kept mine forever except I discovered a Boxster Spyder

Jury is out for me after two months of owning a 2014 S. Replaced a PADM mount ($2,000) after a few hundred miles, and yesterday upon return from a 12-day trip, I found a small brake fluid puddle on the garage floor where the car had sat for 2 weeks. With only 23k miles, gentle prior ownership, and testimonials about reliability, I did not expect to be wondering if this was a good choice just 2 months into ownership - but I am. I am in love with everything about the car, but expensive repairs and down time are why I didn’t get a 15+ year old Ferrari. We’ll see about that leak (fluid found in frunk area under master cylinder), but I fear that if I have to do one more repair - especially if this ends up being a costly repair - this love affair will have been a short one.

@@williamjackson5357 when you do not drive it every day, I guess it stays indeed even more special on the other hand, now that we have finally our dream car, we better enjoy as much as possible by driving it daily so what is best ?? ....🤓

Just got a 2014 myself, and man what car! All your points are spot on, tho I had an expensive repair almost immediately (PADM). My question here and now: How has your experience been since the video and do you still have this car?

Any advice when one is stuck between getting a Boxster or a Cayman? Also, glad to see that the cabin noise is not bad in your Cayman.
@lordmaster55222 жыл бұрын
The Cayman is the better sports car. Better rigidity, lighter, and is the more expensive model until the 718 came out. The Boxster is the softer car with less Hp and a much lower revs (7400RPM for Cayman vs. Boxster’s 6700RPM).
@ohmyggg Жыл бұрын
@@lordmaster5522 overstating the differences. The 981 Boxster and Cayman have the same redline, a 10hp (7 torque) difference, and are nearly identical in weight. Cayman is stiffer but even the 981 Boxster was 40% stiffer than the 987 Boxster.

Go with the Cayman. Look wise, the Cayman just looks more like a proper sports car and will turn heads.

Depends on why you are buying it (which you surely must have by now). I started out looking for a Boxster to replace my S2000, but fell in love with a Cayman. No regrets, tho I do miss those top-down drives on a beautiful day or warm evening. One point I have never heard made on this car (I have a 981), is how you can drive with the windows down and not get the buffitting you find with so many vehicles. I spend a day recently on a long drive in the country and had teh windows fully down almost the entire time. Between the Cayman's good visibility and the breeze that was not punishing at all, I did not miss the sun berating down on my noggin one bit! I also enjoyed the quiet when I put the windows up and took a call on my way home. The Boxster is remarkably quiet for a convertible, but the Cayman reminds me of my last two Audi sedans - quite nice for a fantastic sports car.

Very nice. I have the same car in Guards Red. It gets a lot of looks here in small-town Canada. I have had zero issues with the car since I got it 3 years ago. I really like the wheels you have. What exactly are they?
