I completely agree. It's the same thing every show LeBron's name is mentioned. Every time they talk about the Mavs in 2011, they start with "not trying to disrespect the Dirk and the Mavs but" lol. Then they're trying to argue they aren't a all-time team? At the end, Chris goes and names better teams and only named 5 out of 75 years of basketball, sounds like an all-time team to me considering I don't think he could've named 5 more. LeBron suffered from what Luka is suffering from right now. They were both too good too early and their teams were never in the lottery to draft talented players or to trade their picks for other stars without gutting their team. That’s why Giannis and Jokic having a slow start actually benefited them in the long run because their team was able to build around them instead of expecting them like how ppl expected Lebron in the past or Luka today to create a miracle and win with bad teams.

@artmeddaugh6669
@artmeddaugh6669 Жыл бұрын
@@rackball5858 Miami and Detroit both won Back-to-Back rings. Detroit was a bucket away in game 6 and two buckets away in game 7 of the 88' Finals when they lost to the Lakers. The Heat were never close to a 3-peat because the 11' and 14' Finals never went to a game 7. Isiah threw away Detroit's chance in 87' to reach the NBA Finals, otherwise it could have been four Finals in a row for the Bad Boys. I respect what Detroit accomplished more because GM Jack McCloskey had to build that team, which were bottom feeders, from the ground up. It started with drafting Isiah, and trading for Vinnie and Laimbeer in the early 80's. Establish a young core and lay the foundation. Over the years they had to hit on their draft picks (Dumars=HOF, Rodman=HOF, Salley), and make great trades for players to come in and fill their roles (Dantley, Mahorn, Edwards, and then Aguirre). Detroit went from being an offensive juggernaut to one of the best defenses in the NBA. They had to battle Milwaukee, Philly, Chicago, and Boston year-in-and year-out. That maturation process over 6, 7, 8 years, along with the transformation is what is impressive about what Detroit accomplished. They didn't have the luxury of free-agency. They didn't have the luxury of having the best player in the NBA taking his talents to Motown. Detroit had to beat the best player, MJ, in the NBA playoffs three times in a row to get to the Finals. They had to beat Boston and LA in the process as well. I'm not taking anything away from the Heat and what they accomplished because they did great things too, but imo it was a little easier for Miami to construct their team under the circumstances once LeBron made his decision. The 1989 Detroit Pistons are consistently ranked in the Top 10 of Greatest Teams in NBA history. The Heat, not so much.
