It frustrates me how Samsung is SO CLOSE to being literally just as good as the iPad Pro. Essentially, if it weren't for the app situation (that's sort of out of their control), the Tab S7/S7+ could be right at iPad Pro's level, and better in many ways. I upgraded my iPad Pro 10.5" to the Tab S7+ recently, and, for me, it IS a big upgrade. I absolutely love it, and I don't typically use the apps that people complain about their absence on Android. That being said, it's obvious to literally anybody on earth that the iPad's app ecosystem IS far superior in the creative and/or professional space. There are also just areas of the OS that Samsung hasn't really put enough time in to take full advantage of the tablet screen (like Settings, for example), whereas Apple has permeated every element of the OS to be optimized for tablets. What would truly be game-changing is if Samsung paid whatever money necessary to the app developers of Procreate, LumaFusion, and Affinity to bring their apps over to Samsung devices. It would probably be a big financial investment, but I think it would be well worth it to bring iPad's best creative apps to Samsung tablets.

For one, Twitter has always prioritise the Apple ecosystem (Android users are still not allowed to record their voices as tweets unlike iOS users) in their development, and so the devs themselves are the reasons why products like Samsung can never go better.

In terms of hardware, Samsung is just as good, if not better than Apple. I just prefer Apple's operating systems and App Store is managed much better in terms of quality of apps and security.

Great comparison! iPad is my only Apple device, and just because there are no similar apps and performance as Luma Fusion, Affinity Photo and Notability in the Android side. I would easily go back to Samsung tablets. A Pity that year after year Samsung keeps pretending people want faster refresh rates and beautiful design and never focuses in partnerships with companies to design real competitive apps.

Bro they have a partnership with Microsoft which makes them way superior in the office area and school area too, and also have way more advanced digital creative technology like clip studio which major artists use in their hi-tech art specialised devices. But the thing is it's kinda limited to that. Notability and good notes are nothing compared to what Samsung notes offer for free 😭✋. I agree Luma fusion and photo editing apps like affinity photo kinda apps must be optimized for Android as well that would just overtake the tablet game for Samsung. Well great comment brother.

Bottom line: these are BOTH excellent devices and you cannot go wrong with either one of them. I decided last year that I could use a tablet as my daily driver instead of a laptop and these were my two contenders. I ended up with the Air with Magic Keyboard and have no regrets but I am confident I would have been equally pleased with the S7. These two tablets make much better 2 in 1 devices than the Windows laptop offerings. One surprise with the iPad for me was I really like the 3x2 aspect ratio. I find it a big advantage over the 16x9 laptops I was using before when doing work and the black bars when watching video don’t bother me in the least. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT NEED A LAPTOP and for those people I highly recommend one of these tablets with a keyboard. Thin and light, powerful, all day battery life, no heat issues, excellent high res screens.

Agree although the magic keyboard is way too expensive. For me, better option especially for cost conscious users is to go with external Bluetooth keyboard like one from Logitech combo with one of their mouse. Way cheaper and still offer great experience. To me, iPad works best alone or with Pencil, without any keyboard accessory attached. Hence why I think the magic keyboard is so unnecessary, my 2 cents. Cheers

That said, it is fantastic and I love it. Our stories are what I love about modern tablets like the iPad and the S7: they are so versatile they suit many different needs and use cases.

@Hatwox You make good points but I disagree still. I think it comes down to how you define "most people". You are defining it as work. I think the majority of laptops are used by people for non work. Most people surf the web, watch media, do social media, and some light note taking and documents. For them a tablet with keyboard is a better solution. I do use my iPad Air for work as well since my work is all web based.

As someone who is graduating in 4 weeks this device, Tab S7, is an amazing tool for students. Would recommend to a college student. Only complaint is that because it is Android a lot of apps I use for class are not optimized and will fight you in dex mode. As an Apple sheep, I recommend the S7 or wait for the S8 that will probably come out in two months or soon. S7 is almosy a year old already I think.

Here in Vietnam, an 128GB Tab S7 (with 5G support) costs around $690 (including a stylus and a keyboard cover) while a 64GB iPad Air 4 (Wifi only) costs around $645 (no Apple pencil or keyboard included). Nicely articulated unbiased reviews. 👍 The Tab S7 (120HZ) with 512GB (8GB RAM) and an external MicroCard storage (1TB) with the S-Pen included, DeX, for $629 is extremely hard to ignore. Watching Netflix and KZbin music videos with quad speakers and Dolby Atmos is a huge jump factor in entertainment and aural/visual sensory pleasure. The iPad Air is more expensive (quite bit) and offers less on the features I just mentioned. For Apple ecosystem fans it's the right slab. It looks good, feels good, works good. The selfie camera is not positioned as nicely as the Gslaxy Tab S7. And the extra for the pen and where to put it is a con compared to the Tab S7. The iPad Pro, 2021 model coming up in April, the 11" size, I don't think it's competitive for the price, but we'll see next month ... * Thank you for what you do, very very well.

I've bought both Samsung s7 and the Ipad Air 4. I bought the Samsung orignally being an Android girl, and it makes me sad to be negative about it. Reflectiveness from the Samsung screen was awful, screen use in outside light was bad, I didn't like the note taking experience and then the app for office was scaled down meaning I couldn't produce academic posters or use exel properly (which Microsoft confirmed was the case) although it's a BEAUTIFUL tablet, the colours are glorious AND vibrant (bar the lack of screen brightness and reflective issues hindering outdoor use). It just wasn't suitable for my uni student needs. I ended up SWAPPING for a laptop but I STILL missed having that tablet experience. That's when I saw a friend using the IPAD Air 4. I had no clue about Apple products, but all I knew is office was running fully as needed and the screen was bright and great in outdoor light. (Although I do stand by Samsung having THE BEST screen colours) I took the plunge and I bought the Ipad. (Feeling like I cheated on Android.) I've got to admit (and this is a blow to my own android fangirl ego) the Ipad is so much better. Its easy, snappy, has way more useful apps, editing tools and ability for me to take notes for lectures. Not to mention the pen to 'paper' (screen) experience is fantastic. It'll continue to recieve updates, promoting longevity - It's light, I prefer the screen dimensions and I'm just really happy. Accessories are expensive though. So yeah, for students... if you don't wanna spend on a Windows Surface (which is THE BEST tab/laptop replacement imo) Ipad Air 4 gets my vote for note taking, creativity and longevity 💯 but Samsung is the better movie/home tablet. Just my view but the issues I had for Samsung were a deal breaker for me. Trust me, it hurts my feelings to admit that HAHAHAHA 🤣

There's also alternative offered by Google, or Microsoft Office online and Dropbox you can use too! I use these no problem at all to save study documents. I hope this helps 😊✌️

I had the Tab S7 and despite having very positive qualities such as the screen, speakers and the included S pen, I ended up selling it for the operating system. I have always used android until a couple of months ago (currently I use an Iphone 11) and unfortunately android as an operating system on a tablet is not convenient at all and perhaps it is the most determining factor when choosing between the Tab S7 and the Ipad Air 4. Common applications such as instagram, chrome, facebook, twitter, etc. They look very bad on the Tab S7 and although as you mentioned in the video there are options to improve these applications, it seems to me that they are things that Samsung should fix in its system, it should also be mentioned that Samsung does not have the best record at the time to update their products which is very different when it comes to talking about Apple. It seems to me that despite its higher price, more expensive accessories and more limited storage options the Ipad Air 4 is still much better than the Tab S7.

@@Fallenknight1 Look, the way I see it is that the Tab S7 has the following advantages: - The pencil is included with the tablet, so you should not spend more money if you want to use it to take notes. - The screen has a refresh rate of 120 Hz so everything will tend to be more fluid. - Android is a more open platform so you will have more possibility to install an app outside of the Play store compared to iOS, which is a very closed system that you can only install an app from the App Store. Advantages of the iPad - Very closed operating system but very well optimized, besides that iPadOS is an operating system made for tablets, not like Android, which is the same version of a phone. - You will have updates for many years so you are assured that your iPad continues with excellent performance. - Apps that are specific for iPadOs with very good performance and well optimized, especially for editing videos / photos That said and omitting many points, both are good tablets but if you really want to buy one I recommend one from the Apple brand, even that the latest version of the iPad 10.2 "is an excellent option and cheaper than the Tab S7 / Air 4. I would also recommend that you see the option of a used iPad Pro from the year 2018 or 2020 that tend to be at the price of a new Tab S7 / Air 4, so you will have performance and updates assured for a couple of years more. There is something you have to take into account if you go for Apple, and that is that you will spend more money, but I assure you that it will be a very good investment if you intend to use them for several years.

I have been using Samsung since 2004. In 2019, I got an iPhone. I miss my Android device since Apple limits my ability to do stuff I need for creating content but I do like it for phone stuff like messaging and sharing pictures and videos with other people because the quality is better. So I decided I can get a tablet to bridge that gap and I pulled the trigger on the s7. It arrives tomorrow. I also got the air 4 for my s.o. as a bday gift so I guess we’ll see which is better.

I know I’m late but you can OBVIOUSLY tell how unbiased this review is, what a treat. Both tablets are awesome for what you pay for. If you’re in the Apple Eco system the Air is incredible And if you’re in the Android Eco system the Tab s7 is the way to go I understand buyer conflict but it really should just come down to that. Both are incredible and I honestly think if you’re already in the Android ECO there is no reason besides “pro level apps” and “quality of life” that you should choose the iPad Air. Grab your Tab s7 and enjoy it. That tablet is a steal if you’re already comfortable with Android.

I am someone who uses a tab s7+ on a daily basis and has a little hands on experience on a couple of iPad devices. I love the hardware of the samsung, hands down, especially the spen that has been really thought about before putting it out in the market; but some apps on the iPad like the default note taking app has a better optimization for the iPad. The best for me would be: the hardware of samsung (+ android flexibility ), the default app optimization of Apple.

Been a lifetime Android nd windows users.. Only apple product I use is iPad . For any student Or power user.. IPad>>> samsung.. 1. Larger actual display area(~11% ) 2. 4:3 is good for productivity.. Nice review, my conclusion after watching this video (and some others) and being a current owner of an ipad 8 and a Galaxy tab s6 Lite is this one: If you need those 3 or 4 specific pro level apps that are only available on ipad, get yourself one, on the other hand, if you are one of the other 90% of people, do yourself a favor and go with the s7.

@@harshitmarodia5379 In general terms, i'd say that Ipad OS is better optimized, but nothing deal breaker for me, on the other hand, there are some apps such as instagram that are a pain in the ass to use on iPad. Speaking about longevity, i can't tell much, it's been only a year since i got them. Apple has better history in this regard, but samsung has treated this S6 Lite specially well, powering it with remarcable features like Dex, which was not available on day one.

I wish Apple would bundle the ipencil with the iPad instead of asking us to bend over. It's also bearing in mind if and when an iPad battery needs replacing only Apple will take it on as like the ipencil everything is glued in place. I've also heard of ipencils stopping working if not used for a long time. Some to things to consider.

Samsung please make an 8" version. I am still rocking the Tab S2 8", absolutely perfect for whenever we are allowed to go on holiday - with 1TB MicroSD card I have all the films, books, TV & music I need even if the holiday is completely ruined by bad weather. The smaller form factor is just so much lighter, I find a 500g too heavy to hold for a long time for example when using it as an ebook reader. I want everything the s2 82 delivers but better battery life and more up to date OS

Buy an ipad mini, even the mini 4 will get the job done you discribed and its still supported till end of the year with firmeware and surly 2 or 3 more years with security updates... The only downside, just max storage with 128gb wich maybe could be not enough... The mini 5 will be also be an option for a couple more years and you can get it with 256gb wich maybe is enough for what you want... But if you ask me i would recommend a nas system, with that you have all your datas over the internet, and with wifi or mobile datas you can easily download some more episodes of the series you enjoy at the moment... Done this some years ago and since that i dont need more then 64gb on my ios devices...

@@Eddy_E. The last thing I would want is my data all over the internet, although I do have 2 Nas to store my data at home. The other problem is you assume that everywhere has good WiFi capable of streaming. Often that is not the case, or only available at a price ...US hotels are particularly bad at either not including free WiFi or hobbling so that you have to pay extra for a sipped necessary to stream. With a MicroSD card I never have to worry and it is a lot more convenient than portable hard disk with WiFi built into them - I had one of those a while back and the interface was clunky, I am sure they are better now but would still rank far behind in simple to use

I used for 4 months already, I love tab S7 better than ipad Air4 due to android is more flexible especially for gaming. I can use bluetooth gaming mouse and keyboard using V3 shooting apps. On iOS it doesn’t support the apps My country only sell wifi version but free keyboard cover case. Really worth it.

I picked up the Samsung tab S7 yesterday. And I gotta tell you, it's probably the best decision I've made. I love the loud speakers that I can watch videos and as a gamer, it really helps. There are new areas that I've yet to explore; like Samsung Dex mode, but I'll get there. This thing makes me want to do artwork and productivity tools as well. Since, I'm still new to the samsung tab, will you do some pointers on your channel? If you have already? Awesome. All in all, I love this new tablet. Definitely a sub from me.

I am using the old I pad air 2 for the last seven years and still it works like a charm. It has received all the updates till date and I still don’t want to replace it with the newer ones only for the pen functionality. Problem is all the other android tablets (including Samsung) I have purchased for my family members had to be replaced twice or thrice during this period and not to mention about the software updates. So as a user who’s end experience matters more than the fine tech specs, I am happier with apple Ipad compared to the other. P.S. I have bought the tab s7 too but the touch feel is not as good as the iPad.

@@zhorapata9733 If you want to use it for 5 years, I would suggest you to go with 264 GB if the budget permits. This would accommodate for large applications and your movie or photo collection to be properly managed. With 64GB, you might need to back up your stuffs after a couple of years. Awesome! I just subscribed. Immediately! Very comprehensive video too! And I'm choosing between these 2 right now! A couple of Qs please... In the video, the iPad seems to have better blacks / contrast... is that a fact? Hard to tell as the contrast varies in the video... your front view is a bit low on contrast. The iPad Air seems to score on Apps... ? It apparently runs Photoshop too. I'm a photographer... Is there going to be an Android version of Photoshop ever? Not the Android phone version! That's VERY limited + badly designed. Bottom line, is the S7 a good option to show my portfolio on? Presentation? And can I do any editing on it better than my Android phone? Thanks in advance 🙏🏽😊

same here, ipadair 128 gb is 100usd cheaper than the s7 128gb but the s7 comes with the spen and keyboard cover. though, iPad is more likely to receive longer updates.

One thing that I don't see anyone mention is the s-pen nibs and their life expectancy, the softer rubber nibs tend to wear out in 3 months, while the harder nibs can take a year, Samsung doesn't sell replacement nibs (at least with easy access) and those who source it on Amazon can typically take a couple of months for delivery and can charge 15 to 30 dollars just for 5 nibs, and for creatives that can be a big deal breaker if left without time to prepare, or didn't even know it was going to be a persistent issue.

I went to the Samsung and Apple showroom yesterday. My conclusion, it's simple. If you use Apple products only, buy the iPad Air or Pro. (Entry level is a bad idea for presentation!) If you use Android, buy the S7 or S7+ , _perfect_ sync with Android phone (2 taps to transfer data either way) and Windows 11 which supports Android Apps. A no brainer. ALL of the above have no options on the Selfie / Video Chat camera. Fixed focal length. ALL have calibrated screens. The Samsung S7 has some display colour settings options, iPads have none. Samsung *S7* comes with Fast charger and SPen in the box, for ₹72K / €820 + case ₹1500 / €20. iPad comes with nothing so you have to add the iPen + charger + case to the price. That's it really 😊

@@pout4990 i I use Lightroom and generally photos, a lot. I can just go to a given photo or song and say Share > Nearby from and Accept at the other end and it goes from tablet to phone or vice versa. Same with docs... anything. My entire gallery is synced. Even changes made in Lightroom, are updated on both devices as it's all in the cloud. (CC) I still have my old iPad... to transfer from my phone is by email only and from my pc only by iTunes!! No thank you!

It's only OnePlus that is trying to bridge this software gap but even they have started lagging. It's really spectacular to see all iOS devices, old & new, getting the update on the very same day !

I traded my tab s6 for the tab s7 plus and only paid $170 and traded in my old iphone 8 for their galaxy s21 as well.

Not me regretting buying an apple air 4 gen and waiting for it to arrive AND Now I'm seeing this video. I honestly really love Samsung devices. But I was more interested in procreate so I ordered the iPad which I have no idea how to use. Seeing how the S7 tablet can go into desktop mode has won me over since I prefer desktop over any device in the world. I don't even like laptops I have to set it up as a desktop to feel comfortable.

Thanks for the review! I very much prefer the aspect ratio and lower reflexivity of the iPad screen and many applications on Android tablets are very poor. On the other hand, it is perhaps worth mentioning that the iPad still does not support multiple users, which really sucks.

I would say that the sPen is better for writing but apple’s pencil is better for drawing. Of course you can do both with both but I wouldn’t skip over the writing differences.

@@TechGearTalk I don't own any of the devices but I've watched way to many reviews this last week from students and artists. for writing almost everyone liked the SPen more but artistic reviews preferred the apple pen. Apple also has the better set of software which is a specially important for the arts. Samsungs own free note taking software on the other hand is improved insanely quickly in to a more than ok one.

excellent video, i really enjoyed it :)..I'm planning to replace my Ipad 6th gen because i've been using it for 2 years only for playing PUBG and making videos for my channel, BUT I've been suffering since i bought it because its really difficult to record\ livestream using it, i used the built-in screen recorder and most the time it doesn't work properly, I've bought 2 (TWO) lightning to HDMI connectors to connect it to my laptop and BOTH didn't work. this is why I'm considering to switch to android tab, and i'm guessing the Tab S7 is currently the best (for my price range), but i'd like to ask you few questions if you don't mind: 1- does the s7 support an attachment that allows to: charge + connect HDMI + 3mm headphones (i must use wired headphones when playing because wireless headphones have lag) 2- one youtuber who uses the tab s7 mentioned that it has heating issues and bad graphics when playing pubg, did you encounter any issues while playing with it for longer sessions? I'm hoping this problem is manufacturing defect for his tab only. 3- you seem to know a lot about tablets, so do you have other alternatives to suggest? like i said, i'll only use the tab to play pubg to record\ livestream videos for my channel i'm sorry for the long post, but when i bought the ipad6 i thought i'll be happy with it but it was horrible experience, and now i've finally saved enough to get a new one and i don't want to get another bad tablet, like you said " buy nice or buy twice" :)

If you're an android user then go with a galaxy tablet. If you're an Apple user then choose Ipad Air instead. You're gonna hate your life if you're an Apple user and try to switch with Android or vice versa. The galaxy may be cheap but the security is somewhat not as good as Apple. Customization hands down to galaxy but that's about it

I have been an Android user my whole life. I am 27 now studying in graduate school. I had Sony Xperia Z2 Tab, currently using Lenovo Tab 4 -8. The experience with lenovo was not good at all. Now I need to study tons of staffs on tab & watch recorded lecture videos. Many of my friends are suggesting me to go for an Ipad. If so it would be my first apple product.

The issue is that he has used the old geekbench 4 wich dont works right on the way newer ipad hard and software, in real world the ipad smashes the tab s7 (and even the much newer s8) in to the ground, in geekbench five wich supports both devices correctly the ipad has 1590/4300 and the s7 just 970/3000... Even the cheapest ipad scores higher as the samsung tablet, android tablets are still a joke when it comes to optimization wich is mainly googles false...

I realized that you keep on skipping the fact that the S-Pen has interchange tips included. A few Rubber tips and a Rigid tip is included in the box.

Can you please talk about how both of them perform for Artists? As far as I know, ipads have always been way ahead of android tabs. Android pens can draw plain solid lines, but ipad with procreate allows to play with opacity and thickness with just varying the pressure on the pencil. If you can please get some well known artists to use these and give us a review about which tablet is best for Artists that would be great and helpful.

In my country the IPad Air 4 is actually a cheaper than the Tab S7. (Even more cheap now since there’s many promotions) So I decided to upgrade my Tab S4 to the IPad Air 4. Due to many apps I need are on the iPad. But then I think the Samsung tablet was pretty okay when I used it, from the two of the tablets from samsung I have used in the past, I think it matters about your needs.
