Sure, where is the data from the radar?

@@BULLAKI I agree with you that there isn't any convincing data. But a witness report from Kevin Day, a retired Senior Chief Operations Specialist who specializes in radar systems with 20 years of experience, undoubtedly has more credibility than a witness report from a normal layman. (I am refuting the claim made by Michael Shermer at 5:44)

@@mathiasguldborg6052 I understand, but it's still irrelevant. In 2011 physicists from CERN announced particles travelling faster than light... in news outlets. Turned out there were issues with the instrumentation. In 1989 other physicists announced cold fusion. Another BS. The way science works is with solid data and reproducibility. Anecdotes might be good for debates, religious beliefs, courts of law, politics, etc., where it's all about narratives. Anecdotes have no place in science.

@@erokson9412 I think the misunderstanding comes from how words are defined. You (or the UFO community) probably by "real data" mean something (including anecdotes) and scientists mean something else (raw data measured with different types of instruments). That's it. Problem solved. Hundreds of people apparently saw Jesus performing miracles, others saw flying carpets, others saw people flying or statues crying tears of blood, and so on. For these believes this is "real data". Scientists wouldn't consider that "real data", they acknowledge it's a matter of faith. The paradigm changes you are referring to, happened with "real data" as defined by scientists, and took place with in academic environments.

@Bill Katakis that would simply involve declassifying [x, y, (z maybe), time] coordinates for whatever object. That's a stupid [N x 4] matrix per object. You don't need to get specs from the radar. But even that doesn't tell you much. I guess the only solution would be to get a job there and find out ;-)

There will be a congress hearing tomorrow. I'm sure it will be interesting. Also intersting is the legislation they are trying to pass, which seems to be targeting Lockheed Martin et al. So far this is just talk, we would like to see physical evidence, i.e. samples that can be analysed in a lab.

You are forgetting that the Navy is tracking these things with radar, and the fighter pilots have problems keeping up with the objects. They know exactly how fast these things are, and they also go into the water. You need to stop focusing on the videos. The reason we got blurry, cut, videos is because this alone doesn't help you. It's the fact that we know how fast these things move, and how they accelerate that makes it interesting.

I think Bob probably lied about his qualification. But really that's not the best counter argument. The many problem is all he puts forward is a story and a bunch of claims we cannot verify. He comes off as sincere. But fuck that. I don't believe something because it is coming from a credible person, only believe things based on the evidence.

So Shermer thinks there is no other intelligent life in the universe and anyone who does is weird ! He'd also think other dimensions and levels of existence are weird 😂! If he lived 500 years ago and someone told him there is this force called electricity that can power devices he'd call them weird.
