I am an Android Developer, and I prefer Windows laptop over Mac, the only reason why is, I can dual boot Windows and Ubuntu, and compared to Ubuntu Mac OS is just a kid. And moreover sometimes I get bored and I wanna play some games. If I get a Mac, I would have to compromise on that. So the overall better experience for me is Windows.

ok, i use windows for like 10 years until recently i got a 2015 macbook pro. here's why: i subscribe to adobe photography plan, I can't find any alternative to photoshop and lightroom, up until recently i started to do a lot of video project, i need a video editing software, i want to use premiere but I won't subscribe to "adobe master collection" cuz it cost lotta money, so i try my friend's imac and try final cut, its good, easy to understand and hella fast! but the problem is it's only for mac, so i started to using davinci resolve. but it's not a really good experience (personal preference). so i decided to buy a 2015 macbook pro, and i have no regrets! i love macos and their user interface. In windows, if im working on photoshop or lightroom, its feel like im "working" (ok, its weird but listen). but, when i working in macos, its feel like im "playing" like playing! (maybe because the macos GUI that i love). then i use final cut for my video projects which i like more than premiere and davinci resolve (i use cracked premiere in the past :v). thats just my opinion, what about yours?

shreyank surve let me be truthful here - Thunderbolt Type C is the best thing that has happened to Mac, I hate the removal of MagSafe but I’m glad they removed that old and slow USB 3 ports. Its upto you if you want to live the dongle life or just invest in a bit pricy but way faster Thunderbolt type C accessories. As far as entertainment goes, its great - you get a great battery life and the screen and the speakers are unmatched. The only thing it is not good at is - Gaming. So I’d go and say its great for daily fun too - as long as it doesn’t involve gaming. Not everybody likes to game anyway.

Don't generalize every creative professional, macs only used for small video editing, little stuffs. I am a creative professional in vfx industry from past 4 year, we use render farms, and high end windows machines to render vfx shots, i have both mac and windows machine and both have advantages and disadvantages, and by the way if u use proper legal registered software with proper work pipeline they will not crash on windows or any other machine and for speed well we have a windows machine in studio which can render your 4k videos in just 5-10 sec.

The most important feature for a blogger is a good keyboard and not battery life . The chassis is poorly designed which compromises on heat dissipation. I'm not talking about the i9 processors , even the i7 processors get considerable hot when compared to others. The WORST aspect of a mac is poor service (I never expected that I'd be saying this 10 years ago) . They are greedy as hell and small repairs cost a bomb. The biggest questions is why do people other than content creators use mac. The simple answer is that they are paying for that logo.

As OP saying that people just buying Mac to flaunt is completely wrong, well it's not true. There are many people who buy Mac just because it's mac and without giving a second thought whether this is the right tool for the right job. Btw this trend is more common among casual users than the pros. Most of the casual users I see don't even going through the thought process mentioned by OP. The thing is Apple has the highest brand loyalty and brand value. There are many people who think that since it's an Apple product it must be good and perfectly suited for their need. Here are few questions, OP needs to consider: What are your thought about ML, AI, Data analytics on Mac laptops vs Windows laptops (with NVDIA GPUs - cuda cores)? What are your thoughts about professional who had to wait to get 4 straight years for getting latest hardware on IMacs? What are your thoughts about Hollywood studios who prefer to build their own workstations (with windows/linux OS) and distributed computing for larger teams, which normally outperforms the latest and greatest IMacs? What are your thoughts about wide verity of hardware available in PC segment to choose from, like from AMD Ryzen to Intel Optane giving you good price to performance ratio? What are your thoughts about Windows universal platform (WUP)? What are your thoughts about Windows, google and Mozilla's push for Progressive web apps (PWA) which is creating doubts about so called exclusive mobile apps future market? What are your thoughts hybrid windows laptops and surface line up? What are your thoughts about cloud services Azure and AWS which will mostly be Linux or Windows Servers? What about those who code with Visual Studio, IIS, MS Sql Server, .Net? What are your thoughts about seamless experience of office 365 with Windows ecosystem causing many big corporate offices to choose Windows ecosystem? Instability -This is true for older Windows but not for Windows 10. It is quite stable and you will hardly face any issues in your day to day life. Bash - Well it can be convenient to use bash, but it's not that you can't use CMD to get the job done. Battery - There are my PC OEMs who definitely offer better battery life than Mac Book Air or Mab Book Pro. And yah, you can use Firefox Quantum or Edge for less stress on battery compared to Chrome with much better browsing experience compared to Safari. Build Quality - Again this was true may be in 2015 but not now. Please look at Dell XPS, MS Surface and may other OEMs coming with great build quality even better than Apple lineup in may cases. Display - OK there are many laptops now in PC segments which beats Mac lineup in sRGB, Adobe RGB ratings, PPI counts, brightness and so on. And oh I guess, the Retina display marketing hype. It's just a display with high pixel count per inch (ppi) nothing else. Other OEMs prefer to call it UHD, Ultra HD, 4k, 2k, HD plus etc. Use what suits best to your job, Eg, If you like FC Pro then use Apple laptops if you are a programmer and need to work on AI, ML then choose windows/linux. Though Apple has its own share of popularity, Windows still has much larger market share in both casual and professional users market. And with the MS's entry into premium grade machines, other PC OEMs also coming forward in this segment giving competition to Mac (which was not the case few years back in premium segment).

simple thing : U can bootcamp and use windows in mac,{with paragon installed u can do all things without chaging drives configurations} but u cant use mac os in Windows default laptops of Dell or diff chinese company laptops. Only thing u should decide to buy Windows default configured laptop is when u are really need to work on windows touch screen apps. U can always buy a Ipad pro if u are a professional editor anyway which is even more handy and quick to edit than slow and heating surfacebooks But do not buy current generation Mac books {They have some issues with keyboard} or oldest Macbook air. Wait for september release of new mac line up if u have time. Macbooks are not for Gamers. Alienware laptops are for gamers. playstation is for long duration gamers. Gaming + productivity ppl should opt for G7 series Dell.

These days many (not all) games which come for Windows do get released for MacOS also. But if the game is releasing on PC rather than being just a console exclusive, Windows will always be the first priority for the developers. But for a gamer, it's better to have a Windows system (desktop), because you can upgrade your PC to match the game's system requirements. Can you do that with an iMac?

K I just like Ubuntu and I don't think it's bad. Every PC in computer lab in my college is Ubuntu. It's just a personal choice which distro to use. For me Ubuntu works just fine for coding purpose and windows for gaming in my dual booted laptop
