Definitely #4 for me. I just don’t like strangers or anyone besides my partner seeing such an intimate part of me for some reason. But I had mine done a few days ago and I must admit, the relief of knowing everything is okay down there makes the embarrassment seem so small. It did not hurt, but was uncomfortable. That’s it 😊

Reason why people don't get pap smears done: it hurts. And no pain relief is given.

Or they don’t numb the area. Still hurts afterwards. Took 7 days, for the pain go away. When they did it, to me. It was only in there, for like a minute. They only did the pelvic exam.

I went in for an iud insertion and did not find out until afterwards that the doctor had also performed a pap smear without my knowledge or consent. Even with hydrocodone qnd valium the procedure was extremely painful both during and after. The chances of cervical cancer are less than 1% I will not let a gynecologist touch me ever again.

I’m so sorry to hear that. It shouldn’t be painful. There are some tips like smaller speculum being used or more lubrication, positioning etc. there are also other options coming up including possibility of self swabbing. In time, these tests will hopefully be even better. They’re lifesaving.

I’ve had mine done recently and honestly it’s not painful. If it is then maybe you should get that looked into. I hardly felt a thing and my nurse made sure I was ready and comfortable.

Reason why people don’t attend their their screening appointments: rawdogging a speculum with no pain relief. It’s 2024 and yall still out here ignoring women’s discomfort/pain. There’s been almost ZERO innovation where the speculum is concerned since it was invented in 1845. And despite women consistently saying it is a painful process, we are still being told that it’s not and that pain relief isn’t necessary. Healthcare industry needs to get a damn grip.

Constant bad results everytime im overweight. Im in care home. Binge eat at night in sleep. Now suicidal. Now bleeding 4x a month. I am going to greet my deceased big brother. Im 5stome 13 but have dwarfism got cancer because weight gain was fat. Id explained i need to gain as muscle but they didnt listen now im going to die. I have a very slow heartbeat wont survive much medical intervention.

They got self testing Pap smears now that are FDA approved as another option that is just as accurate as the cervical screening test according to scientists. If you are afraid of getting it done there is another option now that is proven just as accurate for detecting HPV which is the main leading cause for cervical cancer. Hope this helps 😌

Thanks for asking. It can be uncomfortable for some but it shouldn’t be painful. Remember that you are in control, if you are in pain during the procedure you can ask for them to pause or stop. There are some steps to help prevent any discomfort. ♥️

Not anymore can my husband park in the parking lot until I come out I used to get peppermint candy from Mr. Ruth office. I know I can get my drug screening for my Wedding photo .
