I'm an Engineer. During my college lab experiments my team had to record data and show how it compared with theoretical results. Hate to admit it 😂, but when my data used to veer off, I used cherrypicking to get the trend back to where I wanted it to be. These NGOs and think tanks do the same thing. They fit data into a trend they have created from their narrative.

The hunger index is completely flawed. The Government of India provided free ration for 80 crore people in the last 3 years. No one slept without food in the pandemic. Also that index showed us after Srilanka and near Afghanistan where we donated food as they are our friendly brothers in neighbourhood. Also keep in mind that India is food surplus nation. When India stops exporting rice and wheat many countries suffer a lot.

Thank you, Zuzana, for taking up this important topic. It is difficult to take down Prof. Babones because his statements are based on facts and data. For Rajdeep Sardesai, any paper which speaks against Modi like the New York Times and the Washington Post are venerable newspapers. But, most of us Indians know better. It's true. India has many problems like low per capita income. Sanitation system of India needs to be improved but also need to think that India is a country of 1.4 billion population. It's not so easy to manage. It's totally true that intellectual class of India is anti-India. Some days before Chandrayaan 3 landing. Earlier a (actor/politician) mocked 2019's Chandrajan 2's failure .It is sad but there is a certain percentage of Indians inside India who cannot tolerate the progress of India.Some intellectuals in India say India's Muslim minority is in danger.A minority of 172 million seriously 😑.India's 14.2 percent Muslim minority receives 31 percent of government grants.Even then they will say that the government is persecuting Muslims.

Here is a thing activist arent ranking india so low for some good will. I have worked with research institutes and they dont do it for good intention for what so ever,Indian govt closed all loopholes which NGOs exploited for money laundering, one of my relative leads a NGO which apparantly works in agriculture sector, and gets its funding from UNICEF and umedyar foundation associate of george soros foundation, as NGO donation are not taxed they will claim 80 percent donation is used NGO operation and make their employess to buy stocks of shell companies which dont have presence in real market then short sell the stocks for profit, this entire operation was blocked post 2019 reforms. And all ranking went down hill after that.

And we are not adjusting for the fact that only a few organizations slinging mud at India through these rankings, etc will cause the overton window to shift, so when a clueless Western person googles stuff about India, he is not going to be questioning whether India is fascist or not. Rather the information presented to him will make him question if India is more fascist than x country or not. And that subtle shift in perspective leads most innocent and clueless Westerners to the wrong conclusion about India and that is what (mis)informs and drives all their misguided views and then behaviour. So Indians that see the West as a monolith and simply give knee-jerk reactions to the what many Westerns say about India are actually only further hurting the people-people ties by increasing the hatred and thus hurting India's image more in the long run. Many left biased reports gives CAA as an example to show decline in Indian democracy and "minority" muslims are in danger in India after reading few cherry picked articles from left biased people but in reality CAA doesnt even apply to any Indian citizen. And also it just says religiously persecuted minorities from Pakistan/Afganistan/Bangladesh can get Indian citizenship after staying just for 5 yrs instead of waiting 12 years (which is applicable to any foreigners normally). Some BJP policy even discriminate majority population and favors minority muslims and other religions but they will intentionally ignore it. BTW the anchor here, "Rajdeep Sardesai" himself is left biased. Also a lot of foreign media sees distorted news from leftist media and conclude that hindus are oppressing and killing muslims in India because of rise of hindu majoritarianism, but they dont know the ground realities or simply chose to ignore it. A lot of radicalized muslims in India are attacking hindus and doing planned stone pelting and killings on almost every hindu festival on regular basis (like recent mewat incident) and in cases when those stone pelters are arrested and their illegal properties are demolished left biased medias strongly propagate the narrative that innocent muslims are getting killed in fascist ultra right wing modi govt. But in reality even BJP is doing muslim appeasement. I dont have any problem with muslims if they do not create unrest and violence even when they are not being provoked.

The point that he made that it is the elite class of India that is anti-india is so true. And to make it clear, i don't think their intentions are to be anti-india but they have mixed their judgement between the nation and the current govt. I would like to add Jordan Peterson's statement over here which concludes things very well that one can easily witness and pin point when the 'right' is gone extreme (for example state controlled violence) whereas it becomes very hard to pin point 'left' to call them out on their extreme actions because they are apparently being 'liberal'. Comparative Sociology is a very interesting field of study, one based on hard empirical data, and the Prof is recognized by his peers in this area of study. Just because a nation overwhelmingly votes for a political party, it's leader in two elections one after the other due to performance, the Swedes compare and label us in the same list as Russia? The idea is that Indian intellectuals who typically feed into these rankings tend to have a biased or negative opinion of India. Some of that is organic (e.g.: marxist/left ideology, hate for the right wing governments) and some is because of NGO funding coming into the country from foreign powers trying to destabilise the country. It's well known that China has been spending a lot of money to do so not only in India, but also in other countries like the US (where adverts of the Communist party are passed off as articles). But of late there has been enough evidence to note that almost ALL large mass protests were in fact funded by external parties and the playbooks to destabilise India have also come from outside the country (e.g.: the CAA protests, Article 370 protests, Farmer protests etc). Soros is one who has been identified but I guess you'll find more if you dig deeper.
