Japan is my escape from my daily monotonous life at home. It was my first country as a solo traveller last year and I think I left my heart in Kyoto. Tokyo is spectacular in every way, but the natural beauty and the rich cultural heritage is unbeatable! Plus, it also helps that Japanese people one of the nicest and kindest on earth. Already planning for my 2nd trip next year. My Kawaii in Japan is the sweet grandmas and grandpas who run small shops and restaurants. They would eagerly invite me in with smiles and ask where I'm from and just curious about my background even though they speak very little English. Just thinking about it puts a huge smile on my face.

I remember even 8-9 years ago, when I first started traveling to Japan, I would tell someone I was going and their reaction would be something like "Why Japan?? It's just a bunch of modern buildings, seems boring. Why not Europe instead?" Now of course, a lot of those people have changed their mind and are in a rush to get to Japan lol I guess the rise of Japanese culture in the west in the late 2010s and 2020s has lead to Japan being seen as a top destination now where as before it would be overlooked.

Great video! Mono no aware makes me think of one’s appreciation of impermanence. Would love to see more videos where you explain common philosophies / ideas / concepts that might enhance our understanding of Japanese culture. Thanks!

I never get bored (and never will) even after my 10+ times of visit in last 10 years. Most of the vibes and cultures in Japan suit my traveling style and there's a lot more to explore for me.

That was very neatly and nicely explained. In 2022 I visited Kyoto for work, at a time when there were almost no foreign tourists because of COVID. My Japanese friend suggested we go either to Kinkakuji (which of course is normally very crowded) or Sanzen-in (because I love mossy rocks and statues). I'd never been to either place before. I chose Sanzen-in without hesitation, and really enjoyed going, but afterwards wondered whether I should have gone to Kinkakuji after all, because when will I get another chance to see it without crowds? This video has actually reassured me that I made the right choice after all!

Thank you for watching😆 You are so lucky traveling around Kyoto at that time💯 I'm sure there are so many tourists there at the moment😆 Kinkaku-Ji is next time may be😉

Visiting Japan is 100% about the culture, and then that unfolds into the visual experience. It is not a theme park or social media toy. Learn the culture and be a good guest, that is the platform for treasured memories and not "influencers" acting like predators for youtube and instagram clicks at all costs. Its not the kind of place to just go with no understanding of the culture. My personal kawaii experience was talking with elderly Japanese and making a genuine human connection and trying to be a reason for them to speak well of tourists.

Thank you for watching and sharing your Kawaii experience😘 I also like talking with Japanese elderly. They are kind but sometimes talk about the same things in 30 minutes, like my grandma too😂

The problem really lies with how a lot of tourists just simply do no research on their vacations at all. They just take an itinerary that their social media tells them to do and call it a day. Usually when someone tells me they found a city or attraction overrated, it turns out it wasn't in their scope of interests to begin with. They just went there because someone told them it was a "must see", so they went to get the same instagram pic everyone else gets and then shrug their shoulders in boredom.

Thank you for watching😆 As far as they have a good time even at popular spots, there is no place rather be, though😉

Thank you for the explanations. Very interesting. Some people in the West have a tendency to LOOK for reasons to be disappointed (or complain), unfortunately. Japan is not boring. Those complaining are selfish. The complaints are a way to gain attention (their true goal). No matter where they would be, these people would complain. (^.-) Social media is a reflection of this. Some people only give negative comments but fail to post better videos. (^.^) Happiness is a choice. Being bored is a choice. Some will always chose these. Shou ga nai. (^.-)

I prefer Ginkaku-ji more, really beautiful moss garden, way less crowded and it feels a little bit like entering the world of Pokemon Silver and Gold 😊 But I have to agree most festivals are just not worth it (for me) as they are just TOO F-ing CROWDED! (Tokyo rush hour trains feel empty compared 😅) Also Japan has so many unique sights, food culture, fauna and flora that even another 10 years wont be enough for me to get bored of the country 😊
@JapanwithNao6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching😆 If you feel something Moss Garden, I'm sure you are an expert in traveling to Japan😂 Yes, crowded places are always less attractive in the end...but also hard to avoid if it's festivals...😱

I like and respect Japan but at times, I think the Japanese are a little too crazy with strict, strict rules. "Stand behind the line, you can't take photos, no talking, no eating food" even though you bought the food from a street vendor. Where are you supposed to eat it? Etc ....
