I've found it's the ones from suburban parts of Cali who pretend to be from the hood who are the worst. Growing up in nice little suburban looking neighborhoods yet always talking all hard with an attitude. Definitely have the condescending and arrogant for no reason thing down. And major illusion of superiority. At least New Yorkers have a reason to be that way.

In the 50's and 60's California was a pretty wonderful place to live. People were nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful. But over the next 48 years I watched my home degenerate into an insane, immoral, violent, self-centered hell hole where many people WERE actually trying to get you. It was like living in a war zone. You were constantly on guard to make sure you didn't get robbed or murdered. Southern California at it's best. Things had gotten so bad I moved to Colorado where people were genuinely friendly, who would stop you on the street just to wish you a good day. Then came a wave of Californians who brought their degenerate, self centered ways with them. In only 17 years they had taken over the state, altering the culture to California standards. Time to move for the last time. I have family all across the South. People are decent, moral etc. Of course there is the occasional bad apple, but that is just life. Give your CA transplants some Grace and help them overcome the CA PTSD. Some folks just don't want to change. Best of luck with them.

I would wish to ask this, when you come in California you see smiling people and everything is wonderful. I don't deny there is hypocrisy on huge leaves, but, when I came first in the US I lived in Texas people were insulting you thinking you as Mexican bcs of strange Eastern EU accent thinking you as Mexican didn't wished to socialize whit you, and you've seeing thousand of white rich people in churches not single POC there, and making the 🐄 on burger. I was raised in the biggest county in the country in Southern California for 34 years but decided to relocate due to the ridiculous lockdown decisions that squandered my income and kept me from actually making a livable wage in California. That means bills and added fees that you may not even be aware of as a person growing up there, but realize once you’ve legally changed your state address and registered your vehicle there. Now, I have friends in every state in this country, and some are just shallow friends of friends, but others I spend hours on the phone with every week. Everyone has their own opinion about the general population of a place. The trick is to be your own person and actually care about people. That's usually enough to go pretty far with most people. Being likable is a skill that can enrich your life, no matter where you're at.

I’ve travelled all over this country and one thing I love is the differences found in other states and regions. Keeping an open mind is always key. Just curious, have you ever been out here? That’d be the best seeing your reactions and commentary of the state 😎 Areas of California differ from each other like Southern Cal is more relaxed and chill than the Bay Area and many of the more rural parts like the Central Valley resemble parts of the South and Midwest. …interesting. You think SF is less chill than LA? How so? I mean I agree that every region of California are different but I’ve actually enjoyed living in SF as opposed to LA. LA is so big, I guess it also would depend in the area. Example, when I lived in LA, I lived in Marina Del Rey and although it was a nice place to live, I prefer the vibe in SF. I do love the beach cities in LA though, especially Manhattan and Hermosa which were a short drive south from where I lived; SF feels like home though 🤷🏻‍♂️.

​@@gvbarajas Yeah it all depends on how you look at it from your own experience. I grew up in the Bay Area and lived down in LA and now back in the East Bay. As far as the location itself, yeah I agree that Bay Area is more chill and intimate compared to LA which is just so vast and spread out. As far as my experience with people, i actually found folks in Southern Cal to be more laid back and chill compared to Bay Area folks who tend to be more uptight about things in general LOL. I lived in the Eagle Rock/Glendale area which was more chill compared to say the Westside of LA. So it all depends how you look at things. Either way, love both places even though now I'm stuck out in the Tri Valley where its hot as H!!😄

Okay so as a Californian I will say this, bc it seems the people in comments are from L.A or Socal... Or never really been here... Northern Califromia is chill. Besides Sac which is just its own problem... Majority of Northern Ca is chill people with good values. A lot of country-type people here too. So before people start bad mouthing CA... try and talk to us and get to know us before you make judgements. We are not just the Bay Area and Socal. Ever been to Grass Valley, Roseville, Georgetown, or Truckee? Probably not.

Im from CA moved to the south 20 years ago. Northern CA is very wealthy. The “chill” is from 60s hippies all grown up who go to whole foods. N ca is still CA and mostly very liberal. Especially the rich. People leave CA and expect the same. N ca has very few rednecks. There is still a disconnect in many places. Unless you have lived in the South outside a University town or even near a major University, you will have culture shock. Period

I understand this I am Californian and I want to leave the state. It makes me sad to hear about other nice people experiencing people being rude to them. I am not moving to enforce politics or myself. Simply to start a new life and meet new people and to experience a community. I understand why others are frustrated at Californians as I know it spikes housing costs . The sucky part is for younger adults like me who didn’t have a choice in being raised here it’s just not sustainable to live and we literally have to move. I do think if you are going to move it’s important to respect others and be kind .

I just came back from California and yeah I was in LA and Sacramento, completely hear you on Californians. I do understand where I was doesn't represent the entire state, but never I had met a population on my visit that were so ruthlessly selfish and unfriendly. I completely hear you on this. They are utter narcissists also and the drug problem there is so rampant it's frightening, but nobody in California seems to give a shit in general. Let the problems just fester and never do anything about it. If you're an outsider visiting California you have a completely different perspective than people who live there from my experience talking to locals. I have no idea why so many people want to live up against one another in a place like LA or Orange county. You must be living among neighbors out for themselves and hate everyone else except themselves and have no thought of being communal. I can't believe how many people I had to deal with trying to scam me there. From Airbnb hosts running illegal apartments to rent out to people on the street accosting you when you are just getting money out of an ATM. I've been to 3rd world countries but nothing compares to the horror show that is California. In third world countries usually everything is cheap, but in California they charge a premium for everything. It's like they think they are providing high living standards like Monaco or Switzerland but it's a wasteland. I honestly believe California should be returned to Mexico. It would be way better off for it.

Now if u were as brilliant as ur proclaiming to be you would have already figured all of this out and instead of helping the fall of America you would be trying all you could muster up to rejoin this spilt , weakened society so that we could once again unite to over throw this curuppted by insurgeant and secret society agents who are objectively caring out there mission to gain ultimate power and control internationally all areas of commerce and eliminate individuals so that we don’t wise up causing objective and fight back. There’s nothing exceptionally different from the south or the Midwest or even the west. America is pretty much just America. Rural and urban is about it.

I am from California, the thing is NONE of this "I'm better than you" nonsense would ever go through my mind. You have what's called a chip on your shoulder or a deeply ingrained grievance or feeling of resentment, often deriving from a sense of inferiority and marked by aggressive behavior. I could care less if someone thinks they are better than me, I am SICURE with who I am. Only the most mentally disturbed people would get out a gun because you parked on "their" city street.
