Its at least 4.5 gen aircraft (without the stealth coating). With stealth coating the RCS should be about 1/10 times its basic configuration RCS. You forget the fact that a clean F18 is useless. The Su57 can carry weapons internally and has more fuel thus its RCS can still be in a combat scenario the same. In addition it has superior weapons (at least currently) and a better radar than the F18. The outcome of a F22 vs Su57 depends very much on every minor detail. But the F22s superior stealth gives it a slight edge over the Su57.

I was quoting a former F-15 pilot with the 4.2 thing. Because he didn't think it even had the quality for a 4.5. Either way, not a 5th Gen for sure. It looks clean but even on promotional material we can clearly see rivets sticking out. In a 1v 1 fight, we'll probably never know the outcome but I know where I'd put my money.

An F-22 has literally flown in formation with enemy craft before, took pictures of its underbelly and armament, and then proceeded to tell the pilot to f*ck off. They don’t have a kill because they so surpass everything else in the air they don’t even need to fire their weapons to defeat them. In every mock combat the F-22 has ever been in, it only ever is defeated because it runs out of missiles and has to go with guns. Usually after taking down about 8-9 aircraft. the F-22 and Su-57 do not have similar capabilities at all the Su-57 is not 5th gen but only 4.5 gen at most, it is not nearly as stealthy as the F-22 and will likely get detected by it at about 70-80km while the F-22 did not even appear on the Su-57s radar, the Su-57 also features russian engines and thus is VERY likely to have a by far worse heat signature, it also does not feature an S-duct in its intake and thus has a larger radar and heat signature head on, its manufacturing quality is also far worse, it has terrible panel alignment and exposed bolts on the wings, its electronics are also unpar with the F-22s the F-22 can just sit at a range and lob missiles at the Su-57 without ever being detected and even in a dogfight it would still be lkely to win since both feature thrust vectoring and are supermaneuverable, so it would most likely come down to pilot skill, in which case the F-22 would also win since NATO pilots are far more experienced and better trained than russian ones

Thats with a clean configuration of the F18. In a combat scenario the F18 will have missiles and external fuel tanks strapped on its wings which dramaticaly increases its RCS. The Su57 can store its weapons internally and has more fuel therefore its RCS stays the same.

So admittedly some bias, but a lot of his points got me thinking. Sure it's shape tries to be stealthy, but it really lacks a lot of "the little things." Like the rivets, lack of the serrations where it needs them. I don't even know if it has stealth coating (but that could be my own ignorance).

Appearently it reduces its RCS +/- one tenth of its basic configuration RCS. But that would still not be enough. I dont think that stealth was a primary target in this aircraft tho. And it would be too much to say that its useless because of that, as ive seen that a in the comment section of various Su57 videos. If that were the case then a lot of fighters (like F15, F16, F18...) would be completely obsolete but thats certainly not the case.

The Su-57 isn’t as technologically advanced or stealthy as the F-22. The US’s advancements are far ahead of Russia’s. Plus Russian manufacturing is pretty poor which is why there’s so little Su-57s. Russian pilots are also typically poorly trained compared to US pilots. Russia is in a losing race by technology and effectiveness of its weapons and systems so they try to quickly push out soldiers which lead to them being poorly trained this not only applies to their pilots but also their ground and naval troops which is why they usually hire Wagner to do their dirty work cause Wagner trains their troops better

The SU-57 is just a glorified Gen 4 plus plus. So, the lower the frequency farther it travels. Higher the frequency close range. But, to have a fire and forget frequency you need to use Higher range to get lock on target. Low frequency cannot get lock on target. Even if you have 6 or many low frequency will not let you get lock on target. (Sorry for the run on sentences.) But, if your sending out low frequency. You should just send out your location to the enemy.

And.... The USA has about 200 F-22 The R-FED has maybe 4 SU-57. Your SU 57 still has pinot for air speed, and has other non-stealth things sticking out. Like 2 giant engines that WILL SHOW HEAT AND RETURN RADAR. The F-22 is better in every way. ENGINES ARE INTERNAL. F-22 HAS MOST WEAPONS IS FASTEST AND LOWER RADAR CROSS SECTION.

There are endless reasons why this is a common outlook, American Jets dont get manufactured unless they can be properly maintained in both peacetime and while at war. Most countries purchase similar models and designs without a full perspective on their maintenance needs.

1. SU-57 isnt stealth, its low visibility. It has the RCS of a Tomahawk. … so does a F/A-18. 2. Theres not enough Su-57s. Theres maybe 3 active, the rest are mothball (as thats usually the ratio) 3. The Su-57 was design to combat the F-22, with some ground capabilities… the F-22 is 1997 tech. The F-22 has received quite the number of upgrades in the past 10 years alone. 4. The F-22 still has the tightest turn in the world. With the Griffin being second by only 0.1*\s. 5. The F-22 still has an amazing Thrust to weight ratio. Able to run with 1 engine through remaining missions if need be. 6. If dogfights come up, the US is the only country with an off bore-site LOAL (lock on after launch) capable missile. The AIM-9X Bloc 2 (now we have Block 4) able to be programmed to U-turn on ignition, then its seeker able to lock on to tailing pursuer. Giving the F-22 and 35 a 360* missile lock zone. 7. Golfballs dont fly at mk2. But russians dont know how to target helicopters that into their own airspace, blow up fuel depots, then fly back out. I doubt the Su-57 will be anything but a long range AGM launcher in history. 8. F-22 has more kills than a Su-57. Combat proven.
