Why Petrol Diesel Prices Hike / Increasing in India?

In this video we will see why the prices of petrol and diesel have increased, what is the reason behind it and what will be its possible implications. If you have noticed, Petrol and diesel prices went up every day since 7th June. For example in the city of Delhi - the price of petrol was hiked by ₹9.12 per litre between 7th June and 26th June. while that of diesel has gone up by ₹11.01 per litre. The same is the case with other cities too.

One more reason I could see is to recover the installation/licensing cost for BS VI diesel production, which is now available in all the refineries. But the increase won't be justified just by that.

Good explanation.. but may b ur forgetting during low oil prices oil consumption was practically near to zero because of lockdown. Mean while oil refinery had to spend on salary n overhead as they were doing before. So we practically lost low oil period. With economy starting slowly consumption is still not that high that can be managed with a lowering oil price. With bad economy and war like scenarios we may see fuel price even increasing more. Buy good thing is with less oil imports govt pays less in dollars and that helped our dollar saving and it's a all time high.

Sir......... My doubt is Petroleum products are excluded from GST in india......... If these included in gst and taxed say at the maximum slab as per the law there will be significant changes.. right sir.......??? Is there any chance the government reframe work policies and include PETROLEUM products in GST ??......
