That house lacks proper earthing. If it had then,once the faulty extension box was connected it would have blown the fuse or tripped the MCB of that perticular room or equipment. I recommend to check the entire mains from the main box where the earth link starts. Iam surprised how the occupants of house escaped using that bathroom. They are lucky and must praise the lord.

@@leolearning3048 It depends on how wet the floor and the persons body is. And what load i.e lighting load or power load. Under power load we have Ac, water heater,water motor etc.

Shall we install RCCB in our new house cuz I got to know from someone it's very much safe and since we have invested lot of money for our personal house construction so I want everything to be in premium quality. But the electrician who took my house wiring contract is telling me that RCCB is waste of money and isn't effectively and doesn't even works most of the time so he is telling me to install MCB.

heavy leak in Bathrooms comes to only 2 reason ( despite of ELCB) In single phase Mostly problems comes due to water Heater element weak or short ( most cases the ELCB take care and trip) BUT if it's a 3 phase. heavy current in bathrooms ..Check the Neutral +earth the readings should not exceed to 0.9v in general... Else some thing wrong in house connection.. and the worst scenario is Ur Main Govt cable is very very old and it's earthing is damaged or not properly supplies from Govt junction ... ( jugard for emergency unless govt supplies not ok... Make a 2mm jumper in between Neutral and earth in Ur main box... Go and check.. u will never have problem)

Earthing network of this house is floating. The connection to earth is broken or missing. If earth connection was good, the faulty wire of extension box would have tripped the MCB immediately.

Mcb does not trip in earthing fault in this case rccb or elcb is to be installed otherwise mcb only protects from overload or short-circuit

@@divyanshpathak8804 No. MCB trips at rated current, whether live is shorted to neutral or to earth. If earth short doesn't trip MCB, it means earthing resistance is high. ELCB & RRCB trips on slight leakage like human contact also, while MCB trips only on wiring short circuit.

A domestic refrigerator takes minimum 0.2 to maximum 1 ampere current at running condition . Domestic Refrigerator are two types .1) Inverter refrigerator (takes less current), 2) Non inverter refrigerator (takes much current). So a 6 ampere 3/5 pin ac socket is enough to operate it. 16 A socket is not required. A 6 ampere MCB is enough for it.
