I don't agree with Septa being the best transportation network, but I think in terms of the national it's one of the best. All the regional rail lines run on electric and on weekdays have decent time tables. Lots of stations and modes of transport. I always enjoy riding septa and typically a nice experience as long as your prepared with a septa key

I was born in Philadelphia, attended the mighty Philadelphia High School for Girls and Temple University. Many a transport of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority I rode: buses, subway-surface cars, Frankford El, Broad Street Subway, trackless trolley bus, commuter rail. Many a grumble I had towards SEPTA (you have not lived until you have stood on Academy Road in Northeast Philadelphia waiting for the 20 bus in a snowstorm). I missed SEPTA living in Southern California’s Inland Empire, which does not have the extensive network of transportation that SEPTA does. I took two Metrolink trains and a Glendale Beeline bus to get to my office - a long trip, but preferable to the slog on the 71/57/210/134 freeways, which could take up to 3 hours, depending. Ogden, Utah has only buses and a rail line to Salt Lake City International
