Originally released back in 2013 and now after 10 years, this video is still one of the most-viewed TEDx Talks specials that I have ever found and is already a classic that is sure to be available for generations. I believe that Alexandre O. Philippe should make a second talk during 2024 at the same place that he was there to attend as the lead speaker for this event as pop culture is discussed exclusively in front of a live studio audience.

Last year I volunteered at film festival in Wrocław, where we had screenings of "Memory - The Origins of Alien" and he was one of the invited guests I worked with. Really nice guy, was always on time and where he was supposed to be. And he actually cared about using his guest pass too see as much films as he could fit into his schedule. All the best for him, and may we meet again!

This is a good Tedx Talk that exemplifies, I think, the third of four categories Bruce F. Forbes and Jeffrey H. Mahan describe in their book _Religion and Popular Culture in America_ (2003) describe as "popular culture as religion".
@bluedebussy57999 жыл бұрын
pop culture is just that, popular culture. not long lasting or deep, its the general dominant very much western internet based culture. it does bring people together but it also divides them like any facet of human culture.
@MegaHellrasier7 жыл бұрын
i disagree with the idea that pop culture isn't long lasting and deep for i believe pop culture much more grander than that but i think your right for the most part actually

Note on TCM/"39 Steps" He says Donat and Mr. Memory appear "at the same theatre" in the opening and concluding scenes. I don't think so. The first is a raucous music hall with a lively bar crowd. The last is the more-sober London Palladium.

@theodorefrazier29894 жыл бұрын
I don't see the point of trying to be interested in something that you're not just because the majority is interested in it. There are other ways to relate. The weather, almost everyone has a family, etc.also I'm a big proponent of people finding their try versus trying to relate with everybody.
