No reason to be. That's the thing though, it's what Pride with the LGBTQ+ community is about; shame. You see, you have never experienced shame for your orientation, we have and do. That's why there's no "Straight Pride Day". You only get one of those if you've had to endure having shame systematically and culturally forced on you for an aspect of yourself you have no control over. So just to let you know, when someone jumps in on this subject with a comment like yours, it's very insensitive, because it's not about you. We aren't talking about you. You're not a part of this conversation. Our pride is not us telling you to be ashamed of your orientation, but a reminder to ourselves that we don't have to be ashamed of ours.

I think its a month that parades in different cities are at different days and not all at the same day. Important is always to know: pride is not about LGBT people having privileges , its about showing those who are still discriminated that they are not alone. A month for veterans ? Why not. As someone in the LGBT Community it’s great that we celebrate pride but there are still prejudice and hatred towards black people on our own community. If you can go out and celebrate pride then you can fight alone side with black lives matter and fight a fight that’s been going on for decades. I really just don't get "Pride", I'm so confused. I feel like the LGBT community really needs to make a decision on their identity. My question is "Is being a member of the LGBT community normal?" See the problem is is that they seem to be shouting everywhere that it's totally fine, acceptable, and "normal" to be LGBT, yet they have stuff like Pride Month and parades, this is clearly a violation of logic. If being LGBT was truly normal, there would not be a Pride Month for the same reason there isn't a "Heterosexual Month", it's mundane. If anyone wants to reply that'd be cool. :)

I agree with the ideology of “if you want to be normal, don’t shout it out”. I think the main reason why is because there is still some discrimination which is enough to keep the parades going on. I don’t think it’ll be soon, but hopefully one day LGBTQ+ members will be fully accepted and the Pride month could maybe be cut down to a ‘Pride Day’. Just as a way to recognize the people that got them rights. In short, I support Pride month, but at one point it’ll be obsolete and hurt their goals.

I have a question for the lgbtq community. I am a Christian and I personally disagree with LGBTQ, it’s is not ok to me, I don’t believe it’s the right thing. However, I don’t believe that we should discriminate, I don’t believe we should treat the pride community wrong because of the decision you made. Here is my outlook on it, it is wrong for us as humans to hate on others because we disagree with their decisions. Some of my favorite teachers and some of my friends are part of the community however I still love them. My question to the community is that ok? Or am I still “a terrible person” ? But this is different cases, for me LGBT should be consider adult stuff, children should grow to be old enough to know what it is. If they were raised while being exposed to LGBT they will feel that straight couple who against LGBT especially their parents or those who close to them(not all these people are anti lgbt but some were) is defintely wrong and the relationship with those who they once love will shatter because they could not reach understanding with each others. Also another thing to add is, children has very hard time to understand love and LGBT is about expressing love, if boy like a guy but didn't know whether he want to be normal friend or want be more than that. The feeling is troublesome and could cause harm to children growth. That why i'm afraid. Of course this is all based on my opinion. Of course there is possibility for good outcome if children were exposed to LGBT. But that a story for another day.

Love the progress pride flag. 🏳️‍⚧️ I am also diagnosed with Schizophrenia, and I'm proud of the stigma I've overcome with regards to that, and now take pride in how I've overcome the challenges of that condition to achieve the level of functioning I now have. I didn't put my master's degree on the wall pre diagnosis, but when a manager at Taco Bell gave me a free-taco coupon with a handwritten note complimenting me on being such a dependable and valuable member of the team post diagnosis, I was very proud and cherished that accolade. You can't feel shame and pride at the same time. It's an intentional cognitive reframing. It's healthy and good to foster for stigmatized things outside your control. July is disability pride month btw. ⚡
