I have no support nor do I condone proshippers, I especially have no respect if a proshipper isn't actually mentally ill and is just a genuine weirdo. It as a coping mechanism can be just as unhealthy and harmful as sh, and basically all the points you said in the video originally. But I do know that some proshippers are traumatized and struggling in life, I wish them a good recovery, but at the same time I wouldn't let them roam free with their ships. I hope that they only use proshipping as a temporary way and seek out a better option to cope in the long run.

the way i cope with my trauma is by making my ocs have a good life then suddenly something happens that pretty much traumatizes them. one of them LITERALLY GOT A CONCUSSION BECAUSE ANOTHER OC THREW A POT AT THEM. (no im not sane)

Yuh, I think they’re using “It’s a coping mechanism” as an excuse or, just don’t realize shipping characters that *don’t belong* to them and are illegal isn’t healthy, or helping. The actual coping mechanism that is used called “Written Exposure Therapy” or WET. (Please, don’t take that out of context, FREAK.) It’s recommended by therapists to write down your traumatic experiences, in your *own* fictional media, such as a poems, the actual experience that happened, or just spilling your guts onto pages for 30 minutes to help understand and cope with the trauma. Making a your *own* story and characters with your same trauma would actually surprisingly help. This doesn’t mean that shipping something like AppleBloom and AppleJack and actively defending and accepting the ship would help, that’s just being gross.

I do not support pro shippers, or anything related to that, except lightships, since I’m a light shipper. (Light shipping is a com ship, just not problematic, like mortal x immortal.) proshipping is harmful to other people, since it can trigger them. I don’t hate people who use it as a coping mechanism, but I do not support their ships. It can make people uncomfortable.

I don't have a problem with pro ships, and any disturbing fictional media is objectively a non issue. The only time I have a problem with it is when real children or mentally ill or impressionable people who are way too mentally immature or underdeveloped begin consuming the content. Instead of banning pro ships my suggestion would be to learn to separate fiction and reality, and only consume and enjoy fictional media of you're a responsible adult who won't repeat the things they see in media. I get why these things may disturb you, but age ratings exist for a reason. And if you ever cause harm to real people, it's your fault, not the fictional media's fault, nor is it the fault of the creator of said media. When it comes to any disturbing or NSFW media, including proship, it is your responsibility to handle it with maturity or stop consuming it all together. So no, I will still be for pro shippers, and all sorts of messed up fictional media, as it still has a place of its own. However I still think we should keep it away from children and handle it responsibly like any other mature or disturbing piece of fictional media. As the lives of real people still matter.

Ion think banning it would cause the separation of reality and fiction tbh, a lot of other things in media would have to be banned as well for something like that to happen, plus is almost impossible for kids to avoid it now even in places meant for kids (ex: dandy world, bluey) cuz of people trying to make kids watch that stuff. I think it’s better for people who are proshippers to do it in private cuz there’s genuinely no benefits from posting it online
