Although the original show has long since ended there was another season aired on Netflix in 2019 called Pucca: Love Recipe which is considered the third season and this is the way I personally learned of the franchise and ever since I've been infatuated with everything pucca related. It's a shame it doesn't get much attention nowadays because I see some real charm and potential in it.

The problem I have sometimes with how people perceive things that look "cheap" is that just because some animation is more simple and cheaper to create and they take short cuts doesn't mean much. There still incredibly well animated, and alot of work and love clearly went into it. Animation is hard. It takes alot of work.

This is why I love the show. Pucca and Garu's relationship is actually one of the cutest and healthiest I've seen. Garu actually does love and care about Pucca but he puts all his focus on his work to earn honor. Maybe the reason he wants honor so badly and will get it at all costs, is probably because wants to use it in getting the permission of Pucca's guardian for her hand. Speaking of her, she is also really loves Garu but not to the point where it's yandere obsession. You would also think that after getting passed by by the boy you like many times. you would probably move on and give up but not Pucca ! She still loved Garu after all the times he passed her. Heck, when he decided not to talk at all, she did it too, sacrificing what would be a normal way of communicating with others. That's just how far she is willing to go. I love these two so so much and the show too !

Pucca wasn’t really a show meant to be as big as most well known cartoons. And that’s kinda the simplicity that I love about the story telling. Just a playful girl chases boy with very little dialogue needed. Action speaks louder than words. The first time I saw Pucca it was on a ton of merchandise, similar to Sanrio merchandise so maybe that's why you thought that? I was old enough to know it wasn't Sanrio. If we look at it in a realistic standpoint yes it is creepy and wrong, but it is fiction, but my problem is the double standard if lets say Pucca was a man and Garu was woman or role reversal, people will burn this thing to the ground. People will demand cancellation and tbh it probably wouldn't be let on the air. This may seem out of place, I read a comic. I love the artist and their work tbh, to give context it was about getting Pucca 'cursed' causing her to fall in love with someone else but the catch is that after a certain amount of time she'll die and the man (Garu) she once loved dies as well. So there was this one scene where Garu tries to make Pucca fall in love with him again and get a kiss and break the curse but after some things went out of hand it became a classic chase scene but the roles were reversed, I didn't think much of it and I was more amazed that the artist made it with the same feel as the cartoon, but MY GOD! The comments completely pissed off and made me concerned about their mental health, so many sided with Pucca like she didn't force herself on him before and they're saying things like (not word for word) 'Garu getting a taste of what Pucca had to go through' 'that's what it feels like to be the chaser instead of the chasee'. Highly recommend it if you still wanna read it despite me spoiling most of it.

Fun facts: in one of the episodes, I think it was “he love me not”. Pucca almost gave up on Garu because she saw how (fake) garu seem more happy with ring ring on their (fake) wedding. This shows that no matter how much she loves garu she still cares more for his happiness. And another fun facts: in another episode called “And the band played rong” when Tobe started insulting pucca, garu went ballistic and infuriated. My man deadass started to beat him up for calling pucca stupid.😅

Duuuude, I LOVED this show when I was a lot younger. I remember when I was a kid I would stay up "late" (really like till 9-10) and watch this and Power Rangers on Jetix. Looking back on it, considering Pucca and Power Rangers were two of the shows that stuck out the most, it's definitely no wonder I wound up becoming such a huge anime fan.

It's pretty much the same as before, but this version is 3D animated instead of being 2D, though the art style is still kept as similar as it can be. I've watched a couple episodes of it and it's as good as the original so far. Still really funny, and still just as charming.

I love how much Pucca would kiss Karu (i think thats the name?) seemingly just to do it. and that she only ever seems to use her goddess powers for the purpose of helping her lover or trying to get closer to him, but when it comes to things that dont matter, like the pin pong tournament, she doesn't care and is fine sitting on the sidelines until she needs to help the one she loves and then she shows shes a monster at it.

I kinda had this theory when I was younger that Pucca was some kind of goddess reincarnate which is why she's so powerful.
