It's good of you to go there Ted and Nikos. I for one appreciate the relevance of all that goes on there, not forgetting the training of our officers and other countries too! The training is that good! College is very much renowned in military circles. Look at who's trained there! List is a who's who of airforces. I like the fact the TCS do visit RAF Cranwell. Oh so famous place. Agreed, Nikos the Phenom is a great looking aircraft with its Smart RAF livery Inc roundel. Great aircraft too fly I believe. 2 minutes silence observed, nice touch. We Will Never Forget! Long may those men live in our hearts❤ never forgotten. A few 3 formations and break too watch with both Tutors and Prefects. Lovely. Considering thry are trainee pilots, i thought they dealt with the winds very well. Not an expert obviously but respect! Weren't the Red Arrows temporarily based here? In the 80s? Remember Sea Kings aswell here. Who remembers them? 😊 To top it all off we get a mini digger appearance at the end. Plus our final Phenom of the day before Marham. Nice... @Matt Foster he knows his stuff doesn't he? So does Jos De Lijster, he brings knowledge to the proceedings. Oh how I wish I had knowledge like that 😮😑😒. Great stream from early days with Claire Bear 🐻, oii oii Claire.. Off to do chores. But I catch you later Ted. No:- 885 / 989

Used to drive past this Airbase on way to Grandparents in Yorkshire. It's a famous old RAF base. Various Aircraft inc Red Arrows have flown there. Sea King helicopters too from memory. Brings back my childhood days. Great Video Ted and Nikos.

Some fantastic weather at 'Cranners ' Ted. Steeped in RAF history of course. First time I've ever seen a Phenom in action. A nice little jet. You'll have to get one Ted! Perhaps the MOD will loan one to you. 😁👍🧸✈

It was a great day Gazza. I never realised how busy it was. One of the best things about what we do, is that we learn all these new things about a station or aircraft, the history and stories. It’s fantastic. Yes the Phenom is a lovely jet with a lovely sound too. Hehe, I’m sure the MOD could lend me one 😁 ooh I could have my own callsign wahhhayyy 😀🛩

Thanks so much Gazza. The team from Monday are in LFA7 and LFA17, we are low level flying spotting next week, we can’t make that one. Thank you so much though for this. We are back the week after so hopefully catch something 🤙🏼

Thank Ted. I used to live not far from there at a kid. We always pronounced Rauceby as "Raws-by", but who knows :) When we drove past the radar my dad would always ask us which way the radar was rotating. Even though it was most likely going clockwise, looking at it you could convince yourself it was going either direction. The A17 was always busy back in the 1980s must be crazy now.
@gazza29332 жыл бұрын
Robert When the Red Arrows were at Cranwell, I understand that there was, very sadly, a fatality on the A17 through someone, 'rubber necking ' at The Reds.
@TedConingsby2 жыл бұрын
Oh dear. Gazza even when we are safely by the road making our videos, we’ve nearly been hit a few times due to rubber necking.
@TedConingsby2 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert. Thanks for your comments. Nikos always puts a little disclaimer as he isn’t the best at getting pronunciations right lol. It is extremely busy and even Rauceby is pretty busy too. Hehe I know what you mean about the radar. 🤙🏼🇬🇧

@@TedConingsby It's very tempting of course but drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists just need to be disciplined with this. The Dogdyke Road can be very dangerous. The aircraft are still going to be there tomorrow. 👍
@TedConingsby2 жыл бұрын
@@gazza2933 totally true. Dogdyke has taken out a few spotters before I have heard. I can’t believe it is still 60 on that road though. I get very upset when they ignore the lights for incoming aircraft. That is not good

Ohhhh yeahhhhhh!! I never knew "Cranners" was such a busy place!! This video is a brilliant watch if anyone is wondering what the selection process is for RAF aircrew, I hope the RAF are taking note - you should be on commission!!!

He holds a commission! 😁 🧸✈

Thanks Andy. Yeah we couldn’t believe how busy the place is. And then we learned how important the station is and it’s key role to a pilot and aircrew’s career. Well, maybe one day 😀 we will be recognised, we love our _RAF: and we love to promote all that goes into it, and what comes out of it
