This slanted personal attack on RG, mixing it with a tribute to MMS, is totally uncalled for from a senior journalist. I think it’s quite unethical. The facts on the ground also suggest otherwise. RG was very much part of the cortège and like a son also carried the late PM’s body on his shoulder. This gesture showed the personal bond between the two like no other. Anyone remotely familiar with Indian traditions would know. Mr Puri’s observation about Congress not being present at the time of immersion of ashes is uncalled for. Any family needs close personal space too at a time like this. So, it’s only decent not to be everywhere. As far as the memorial is concerned, Congress had very early through a letter and otherwise clearly suggested part of Shakti Sthal (Indira ji’s) and Vir Bhumi ( 11:10 Rajiv ji’s memorial) could be used. Clearly, the govt’s choice of holding the last rites at Nigam Bodh ghat was inappropriate. Any Dilliwallah will tell you about the conditions at the place:(

Only on instructions from Narsimha Rao, Manmohan Singh introduced reformist budget. Problem was Sonia always wanted to be super prime minister and he did not allow that. Unlike Manmohan Singh under whose nose all Govt files were carried to Sonia's private coterie to get approval. So Maharani did not like Narsimha Rao.

Rahul Gandhis tearing a legislation draft arguably for a reason, was brought out here only to make a point of neutrality radically when both shared greatest of relationship for a decade since the incident. His speech traveling to wherever shouldn’t have been a talking point as the life moves on for everybody even after own parents death. Hypocrisy as a Selling point is not good for a journalist .
